    I started with a 225. For it being a homeowner model, it’s a great little trimmer. I’d venture to say the Best Buy for the money.

    Hey man that 225 is such a great trimmer and I am so surprised how well its holds up I don't use it as a weedeater we use the 2620 weed eaters I use it as a hedge trimmer cuz it's so light weight and my guy uses it all day long trimming hedges and it's on its 2 year and its hold up so well no wonder echo hasn't discontinued this unit.

    I'm worried that 21cc isn't going to be enough. I'm a home owner and my old WeedEater Max te475 is finally giving me so much trouble I need a good reliable trimmer. I've been using the WeedEater for about 15 years it's a 25cc and I don't know if I can take a downgrade in power. Is 21.2cc from Echo just about as good as a 25cc from an old wornout WeedEater max?

    Great overview of this model. I have just over 1/3rd acre and about 250 feet of fence to trim, I think this would be a good replacement to my 15 year old ryobi 4 stroke (MTD engine). I don't need anything with crazy amounts of power where I'm at! I've been looking at this model, the stihl, husqvarna, shindaiwa, and red max. Looks like stihl and echo have the largest network of dealer support at least.
    What are your thoughts on the similar model trimmers with the shaft that accepts different ends, was thinking it would be handy if I wanted to buy a blade edger attachment for it as well, but maybe they dont work as well? Like I said mine has that system and I never used it but it's also been good to me for 15 years so far. Just nearing the end of its life.

      As long as you go with one of the companies you listed. you will be happy.But remember,the higher end you go the better! It is like going from a smart car to a corvette..seriously.commercial grade if its in your budget.husqvarna has a zero% interest card if money is a prob.a commercial trimmer will save 50% + time.seriously.A good trimmer can make you enjoy lawn care.a bad trimmer makes it hard and miserable.So get the best you can,you will thank me.

    I like the older grey echoes,IMO I think the Husky 322L is the best home owner trimmer hands down,so light,plenty of power as long as line is correct length,fuel consumption is very low..I see um on ebay for $175 refurb all day long.
    I do own 3 echos and one stihl but i grab the 322l everyday all day.

    I've got four acres, most of which I can mow, but there are about 600 feet of fence that gets clogged with grass and about 200 feet of creek bank that gets overgrown with tall grass and woody weeds. I've also got a bunch of invasive honeysuckle I hope to cut to the ground some day, plus some shrubs to trim and pruning here and there, so I was looking into the PAS attachment system. The local dealer's price for the PAS-2620 power unit plus a string trimmer is $400 versus $250 for the PAS-225. That's a huge step up in price for only 20% difference in displacement. Is the extra cost justified here? I'm coming from a "barn find" Troy Bilt that bogged down and couldn't handle dense weeds.

    • @BioHazardra

      some day i may get a Husqy trimmer, but i am VERY interested in getting a 580 backpack blower. they have nearly 1000 cfm and are the same price as a stihl br600 magnum that has less cfm. if i get a stihl backpack it is going to be a br450 c-ef, the one with the electric start. it has 621 cfm (i think) which is very close to the br600, plus people have said it has nearly the same power anyway. the 450 and 600 is the same price as the 580 Husqy but it has 400 more cfm. the electric start is soooooooo intriguing thought lol.
      The only thing about that dealer is that they have HORRIBLE parts service and no maintenance shop that i know of. i dont know if they plan to just send off the machine to get it fixed or just replace it or what. we have a residential ZTR at work that we have tried getting parts for from there. placed an order and i dont think they ever came in. luckily we didnt pay before the order was made.
      so i guess the next pieces of handheld gas equipment i get may be the BR450 c-ef, the Husqy 580 and the 525 trimmer, and a big echo of some sort. I would also be interested in a battery powered handheld blower some day also
      sorry for the long response lol

    • @exterminator1
      @exterminator1  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer my 525lst over all my trimmers.580 is in my future as i will NEVER own a br stihl magnum blower.I hate the noise! so freakn loud.2 strokes are much quieter. So 2 stroke stihl back packs are nice.My echo backpack 770 is fantastic so is my husky 350.I go to coeburn home center for my husqvarnas.they have in house service.very nice there too.I will be slowly going all husqvarna.Coevburn home center is why.My fav stihl dealer retired and i dont like the other ones.Duffield has a fantastic stihl dealer though.but im going husky.They have a hydro WB coming out next year as well.So prob try to get one.

    • @BioHazardra
      @BioHazardra 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i feel you cant beat the torque of a Stihl 4 stroke but the cfm on their backpacks is lower than it really should be. I've gotten my handheld blower and fs111r from Jonesville and i like them as a dealer, but i think Duffield is better. if i get another stihl product i will be going to Duffield.
      I would love to try some commercial Husqy mowers, walk behind and ztr. but my picks for those kind of mowers would probably be Snapper Pro or Ferris. we have a Snapper Pro 200 ztr at work that just cant be beat. but for a sit on mower i will probably stick with my John Deere garden tractors. the hills in this area just require either a GT or a walk behind. my dream setup though is a truck with flatbed dovetail and a walk behind mower probably 48 inch. maybe 2 wbs but thats far in the future

    • @exterminator1
      @exterminator1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I started my business with a 100 series JD.I still have it.I have 2 48 WB.perfect size for the mountains here.I prefer a ztr and a wb on the trailer.flat parts speed is important when you have so many lawns to do.and hills wb shines.I love the 4mix on trimmers as well just not blowers.I see several snappers in lee County,yall get them where? My main helper is buying my small toro ztr(he also bought 2 90rs from me).I will be selling my snapper soon(i think).I dont want a monthly payment so I like buying mowers straight out.I have my snapper back to original in pulling power now. changing the pulley's was a game changer.I had to use dif ones cuz those were discontinued.So scag uses a similar peerless setup and bam,works perfect :) .So happy with it now.The mount on the exhaust broke so the muffler loosens itself,other than that,snapper is a beast.
