Happy 2025! First video of the year! Looking forward to some new stalker 2 content and possibly maybe return back to play Metro again or possibly try that Pioner game! Let me know what you're feeling down below!
It is becoming mainstream, but that comes with its own problems. I get it, devs have to get as much buyers as possible, so the game gets advertised to EVERYONE. But that is the biggest problem - suddenly there are suggestions for vehicle, people want a vehicle in the game. WTF??? OK, that isnt bad enough, how about people wanting a emission safe tent. WTF??? and even sleep matrace - why??? I know, devs need funds, but man, I really hope they dont listen to average Starfield player complaints/suggestions...
I understand vannila Stalker is what it is but what makes me happy are mods. All of us in some time from now will find something to enjoy and for years to come. I like hardcore games,to play like that etc. and that is not for everyone but I know I will find something from mods or even better whole overhauls to more hardcore playthrough but devs must do their part and that is good Ai,A-life,without that whole game is bad and Im not sure mods can fix it
My only complaint so far is that ammo and healing is way too plentiful. I don't have to consider any fights. Id like some scarcity to have moments that make me nervous and have to consider other options than to just Rambo
Tent and mattress addons have existed since the old old mod of Call of Chernobyl. Those that ask for that aren't random mainstream people, they're old fans drunk on modding.
Thank you for share. I go from 41 yo to 20 playing the new stalker, a real joy of life. Newbies don´t know nothing about the original stalker, and thats ok. Greetings from Argentina.
What makes STALKER so great is precisely what *isn't* in it. It is a little jank and a little weird, but it is focused. Everything in the game is in service to atmosphere. GUn customization is limited and focused. You cant make any gun do any thing. You can make a gun better at the thing it's meant to do. You explore, and through exploration are reminded constantly that everything in the zone is dangerous. You are encouraged to avoid fights because your gear is fragile and your ammo is expensive. You frequently have to drop everything you're doing to respond to the Zones whims because the game is not about you. The game has a lot of issues. But it's still one of my favorite games I've played in years.
There's certainly a place for mods like Anomaly, I've played a number of them over the years and enjoyed some of them a lot. But I also do not want the vanilla games to be turned into those modded versions. For me, Anomaly and Gamma get tedious after a while because I'm not interested in the level of survival & scavenging gameplay that they offer. I'm also heavily influenced by the Roadside Picnic novel and the pen & paper role-playing game derived from it where the emphasis is not on survival , but exploring. So yeah, the mods have there place and I will undoubtedly play some of them, but I also hope the vanilla games will not be changed to be more like those mods.
I agree, I believe the game isn't mainstream yet. This game has the potential to be something great, but it's clear it still needs A TON of work. I believe it needed at least 6 more months before it should have been released. It's such a shame games today come out in such broken and buggy states and people still eat it up.
Ofc it is. Do many Americans was crying that they can't kill mobs with pistol shooting across the map, that GSC made shooting super easy, a lot more loot. Those fullscreen faces like in fallout... But all this is tolerable
Stalker 2 is the best. I played gamma a lot but I don't want to be spending 5 hours just to fix my weapon. It's way too overtuned to become hardcore. Glad Stalker 2 didn't take that route and stayed true. We got mods for that.
This is also the point of what I wanted to make with this video too. Basically there's different experiences for different types of gameplay. The best part? you can pick your poison!
There is a stalker movie... it's from the 80s or 90s and is Russian. It's just called Stalker. And is based on the book "Roadside Picnic"... the movie is based on the book, and the game is loosely based on the movie.
Russia was part of the Soviet Union you know? It was made in Russia, not Ukraine or any of the other places that were in the union, Russia. Unless I'm very mistaken but either way, just because it was the time of the Soviet Union doesn't mean Russia hasn't been Russia since before there was a Soviet Union. @@CBAPT13
@@dpounder101 well, 1. it was filmed in Estonia. 2. the director's father was ukrainian. 3. the "professor" was ukrainian and even had to be dubbed to russian by other person. So, let's just not call it russian
Given that things like ANOMALY and GAMMA exist for those of us in the old-school STALKER crowd, I have no issue with the franchise as a whole being more mainstream. More fans = more profit for the dev team = higher chance of more and better STALKER games for all of us.
It's definitely going main stream now. I never heard of the game until gamepass. As a fallout and Skyrim player. It's probably one of my top games. Being a console player. I don't know if previous titles were released on consoles, but with how good it is (beside the bugs at launch) it's a great console game. A top console game. You also have to remember PC has way more games then console. So yea, I just think people will either love it, or get frustrated and quit the game early.
This would be technically the second time a stalker game was released on consoles. First was "legends of the zone" trilogy before stalker 2 was released. But yeah I also have this game on gamepass since I really enjoy the idea of getting the game for like 12 bucks a month.
I think for me Stalker 2 has more of that level of personality that makes it stand apart which is the zone and the characters and creatures in it for me at least. It feels very unique in the way it's presented.
It's kinda odd when people compare a game and a mod pack. The devs have no choice but to focus on the core game. The could have added all those nice features too but it would have come at the cost another few years of development and a much higher budget (which they didn't have). Without the game itself mods are pointless. They only exist because the game motivates people to play it and make it even better.
i just hated from the beginning that they use unreal engine 5 and did almost no raw improvization to this game, sure the game fantastic i love the athmosphere and animations but it really looks generic in a way, also feels like it lost its grittiness
@@limarchenko96 i think so too, also the UI being a bit more ''rusty with metal pipes and cables'' could really make this game look unique, look like S.T.A.L.K.E.R
unreal engine 5 is one of the best engines ever made ! It's up to a dev how they gonna use it and what they gonna do with it Been working in unreal for almost 4 years and it's been a blast ! If you don't have something you need, you can always change the source code and add your own systems Most players have absolutely no idea what the game engine actually is and how it works It's not a car you get and just drive lol, unreal 5 is a blank canvas where you can add whatever you want
I think this is also just a result of change overtime. I think there's some OG and new folks who worked on Stalker 2. But nostalgia is a hell of a drug and sometimes it can't be beat when it comes to the things we enjoy the most.

Yeah, there is always a danger of devs getting carried away by stupid feedback from players. Let’s hope that it won’t happen.

They need to fix the game not add random game mechanics lmao
I have spent 160 hours in Stalker 2 so far and I CAN'T GET ENOUGH! If you don't like it, that's your problem!
By the way, S2: HoC is barely a AAA game, and that blows my mind. Considering they are also indie devs... They somehow had budget under $2 mil.
What defines AAA? What would make a game AA instead of AAA?
Budget and manpower

the fake A-life where the game spawns two parties to fight each other bothers me the most
you'll get over it
keep crafting and skill trees out of my Stalker games, thank you

Well said!
14:00 that's the Dirge for the Planet melody, such a nostalgic song... it's played on repeat in Rostok near the bar and Duty base on the SOC game
Okay I knew it was from somwhere! Thank you!

I have been loving stalker 2. It’s the only game I have played since it came out.
Glad to hear you're enjoying it!

You missed a potential artifact in that acid anomaly after the bloodsucker
and arch artifact in the gravy anomaly
Yeah I got side tracked talking haha I'll have to go back there again to collect it!

I am hardlocked out of progressing the main quest still.....I want to love this game but its just too broken
Same here, at least it was on my second play through. Once more unto the breach doors locked

There already is a film of stalker decades ago (Russian) it’s on TH-cam and a book a roadside picnic.
Soviet, not russian. There's a difference.
@@AntonSuprun apologies I plead ignorance, also the further I watched the film was mentioned. But a game based movie would be cool

Andrei Tarkovsky was born on April 4, 1932 in the small Russian town of Zavrazhye. Some confuse geography with politics.
Great movie, by the way
yeah this is what I was referencing! I have to check it out at some point.
Played metro 2033 today and yesterday. It was badass sorta like stalker
Metro series is just linear Stalker, 4A Games have said as much. Last Light and Exodus are also excellent in their own ways
Yesss Metro is amazing. I really have to get back into it some more!

The way he went about going through the chemical anomaly. 😢
I tried my best LMAO

I started playing it around Christmas since it was on game pass, now i put around 100 hrs so far
I think there is a new Metro in the works and I'm excited af
yessss I want to play that new metro if it's true!
We need a Stalker anime 👌
There is an old Movie with the zone, really interesting and weird but def not for everyone^^ . A show could be very good actually Ithink
This game is not like other AAA games. Got it's issues but what doesn't nowadays. There's just something about stalker 2 that other games don't have

Precisely. Again they're great but the comparisons are rather interesting given they're two completely different things.
Absolutely nothing wrong with a game being "mainstream".

The real (no pun intended) problem with Unreal Engine 5 is the innate physics and collision bugs which the devs will never be able to fix.
@@eyeballpapercut4400 i swear this engine is so unreal with the problems

STALKER 2 is great and all but, SPACE MARINE 2 is most definitely the best game of 2024
VERY different experiences, not really comparable
Space marine 2 is a banger of a game. Love it and the warhammer 40k franchise too!
Stalker 2 becoming main stream worries me cause stalker 2 does not capture the actual full experience I am sorry to say.
Captures the full experience of the original without question, got some tweaks still to be made on A-life
