A masterpiece from the jewel composer of the Mighty Handful and the greatest conductor.
I have loved this piece music sincel was a little girl,in my Father and mother's home,back in the 1950's.... l'm now... nearly 76years old
Absolutely beautiful music by this gentleman,he was a genius and the Conductor Herbert Von Karajan makes it simply magical

Pour moi la référence, luxueuse, grandiose voire assez colossal dans le plus pur style Karajan... prise de son superlative et débauche de performances instrumentales collectives et individuelles (le violon extraordinaire de Michel Schwalbé). Évidemment cela ressemble un peu à du Strauss... Dans le style: on en a pour son argent...
Thank you. For some odd reason (can't explain), I love this version by von Karajan and the Berliner Philharmoniker -- and I think the original post of it disappeared from TH-cam. Not sure, but I'm loving this. Thank you!!!
besides all being terrific, i like this version because it makes good use of the harp, and it plays an important part on making you feel heaven even better that the violins. wonderful!

この曲の自分のお気に入り盤は、フリッツ・ライナー盤です。
それに比べると多分マルチ録音の為、各パートの楽器の演奏が鮮明に聞こえます。
当時のベルリンフィルの実力が高すぎる為、各パートでの聞きどころが多すぎて、
この曲の全体的な印象がぼやけてしまった感じがします。
でも、この録音が残ったことは非常に価値があることと思います。
