definitely the best build i've seen you make. when i saw it on instagram i was like i have to see that video. looks soooooooo good. loving that rope thing at the bottom.
The Story of Pirate Batman: It was a dark and stormy night on a high class shipping vessel, the wind blew about, and the rain beat against the ship, almost as strong as the waves. A rich family was on a boat from Gotham Port, to Australia. This family, was, known as the Wayne's. They were headed to Australia to see an Opera they had been invited too, but Pirates were on the prowl, and their boats sped across the sea, black as night, not even when the lightning flashed, could you see them... A pirate vessel had latched on to the very same boat that the Wayne's were aboard, and the pirates slaughtered every soul on the ship, except for a young boy, hiding in an old apple barrel, the young lad, Bruce Wayne. Bruce had sworn his revenge on the entire crew of the ship, that killed his family and became, *The Dreaded Pirate Batman*, scourge of the high seas, waking nightmare of black beard himself. He goes about with his crew of "Robins" and plunder the high seas in search of the crew that took Bruce's parents, and stealing gold, along the way...
Awesome grapple gun Chris and the blunderbuss was awesome to start with ! Have fun at is comic con wish you would come to the Brisbane one held next weekend though I would love to meet you.
That looks fucking sweet! I can imagine Pirate Batman being somewhat more of a morally blurred character, neither being strictly good or bad but somewhere in the middle
yeah a similar style to these www.theworks.co.uk/p/bottles/glass-craft-bottles---pack-of-6/5052089088245?CAWELAID=1817488366&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=20466597521&CATCI=pla-123604028201&catargetid=720011340002299162&cadevice=c&gclid=CPm-hbvS_84CFQ3hGwodmUACEQ
wow looks great can't wait to see videos n pics from your oz comic-con :-D I'm of to my 3rd comic-con in Barnsley England as a,mavel of shield agent :-D
Your attention to detail is very good !! Looks like a functional , museum piece !! But, for those copper rope holders ..... change those screws to copper or brass !! Great job though !!
Really like the grappling gun. quick note: weather or change the screws that guide the rope. It just doesn't fit for an old pirate theme. I would weather it or change it to an old flat headed screw like the rest of the gun. just an idea. but al the rest looks great! congrats!
Great prop man! I would say if batman was using that as a club the blood would be on the other side with the curve down. Sorry that was the geek in me thinking the best way to hold it would be with that curve facing the enemy
Possibly make a "sling" for it to hang it from your side? Similar to what people use for tactical rifles. It would also allow Batman to stay connected to the gun as it pulls him to the other ship.
First and foremost it looks amazing, so props for yo' prop. Now, this is where reality sinks in and the critique occurs. This style of grapnel is pretty much a hand held harpoon which is very appropriate design wise, their are some concerns that would need to be addressed were it to be convincing for use in filming. The rope really need to be attached to front end of the harpoon, at the moment it look as though it attached to the back of the harpoon, going down of the barrel's interior to be burned away by the gun powder that is ignites when fired to propel the hook. Assuming the harpoon is propelled by igniting gun powder, another thing to consider is if rope can in any way withstand the heat that is expelled through the muzzle. Which leads us to the guides, that can or will cause one or possibly all of three or more critical failures, in order of severity; A The guides are torn out by the explosive force of the gun firing which is altering the projectiles trajectory. B The rope, unable to keep up with speed of the harpoon propelled by explosive force would snap. C The rope catches on the guides causing the projectile to swing around or snap back injuring the Privateer(?) Batman D The grapnel explodes due to the projectile being held in place by the rope that is being restrained by the guides leaving the rear of the grapnel as the only way out for the intense pressure build up.
I love it. Looks just fantastic. I had a question for you. I am trying to do a joker cosplay (specifically the killing joke cosplay) and I am trying to find a red hood for my tuxedo and was wondering if you had ideas on where to look?
I honest to god just happen to cosplay a pirate and Batman, but I never did them at the same time! too much awesome at once. that being said, I'd still like to think Batman would still have resources and technology not common in the early eighteenth century. maybe even wire on his grapple gun. and how about this, instead of a utility belt, a utility baldric? might get in the way of the chest insignia, but how many pirates have you seen without a baldric?
This looks really cool. I'm curious though, is this pirate Batman gonna have baterangs. If so I could almost image there being like a black beard thing though replacing the pistols with the baterangs.
Hey chris, i'm going to australia in november. can you tell me where i can find a good action figure store in sidney (i live in brazil and here action figures prices are way too high) thank you
My one gripe is those screws on the bottom look a little too new and shiny. I'm kind of wondering about these weapons. Weren't some of these actual antiques? What kind of devaluation of old weapons happened in the process of this cosplay? That seems like it could have been extremely costly.
I know most of your videos are on comic book/ movie stuff, but Boom Co has an amazing set of decently true nerf type Halo guns, would you ever do a video repainting them, even if it is just to try something new?
Can't fucking wait for the complete finished Pirate Batman.
Same!! I'm obsessed
Same
One of the best props I've seen lately. looks like a real functioning gadget
This so far is my favourite piece that you have done so far for cosplay accessories. Just stellar work!!
chris is the best cosplayer out there
Definitely
+Anger Inside Bold, but true
How the average man thinks:
*Chris is absolutely the best cosOMG this cosplayer in THIS pic has BOOBS!!! WOOOO!!! Wait, who were we talking about?*
You can't actually measure that, Chris is an amazing cosplayer for sure, but he's not the best because that's impossible.
That's the blunder buss exactly as I had suggested! Awesome to see it actually done! NICE
This prop is so effin pretty Chris. What an awesome costume this Pirate Batman will be...
definitely the best build i've seen you make. when i saw it on instagram i was like i have to see that video. looks soooooooo good. loving that rope thing at the bottom.
After watching your pirate batman videos it inspired me and now I'm making my own cowboy batman for Halloween
You're imagination and attention to detail blew this one out of the park once again, man. Well fucking done.

hm that's pretty good
Nice story
Keenan Meyer
you should write a novel about this
You Should Make A Comic Book About It.
i love how we're both named Chris im so blessed
Awesome grapple gun Chris and the blunderbuss was awesome to start with ! Have fun at is comic con wish you would come to the Brisbane one held next weekend though I would love to meet you.
I would LOVE to see a live-action movie about Pirate Batman! :D
nerdsman567 ME TOO!!!!
Just an incredible piece, Chris :D
That looks fucking sweet! I can imagine Pirate Batman being somewhat more of a morally blurred character, neither being strictly good or bad but somewhere in the middle
thx had so much fun meeting you, you bloody legend
Chris you must have been a pirate in your past life 😂
love that pirate batman grappling gun Chris!!!!!!!!! it looks badass:)
Some crudely beaten out baterangs made from iron or something would look sick with the costume.
they probably should each look differenent because pirates didnt have time to make identical things
It would be cool if he artificially rusted them too
how about small bottles as smoke bombs
yeah a similar style to these
www.theworks.co.uk/p/bottles/glass-craft-bottles---pack-of-6/5052089088245?CAWELAID=1817488366&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=20466597521&CATCI=pla-123604028201&catargetid=720011340002299162&cadevice=c&gclid=CPm-hbvS_84CFQ3hGwodmUACEQ
Or wood!
Looks absolutely amazing, keep up the good work! when you're done with the whole costume you should make a shortfilm with it, would be cool :)
this looks amazing
Excellent job Chris!!!
wow looks great can't wait to see videos n pics from your oz comic-con :-D
I'm of to my 3rd comic-con in Barnsley England as a,mavel of shield agent :-D
Chris u bloody legend. U make me proud to be an Aussie m8.
i gotta say if i were to ever try make a pirate batman graple gun that is pretty much spot on for how I would do it in terms of the overall look
That was pretty incredible!
This is so awesome
Keep up the awesome work Chris!
That looks so amazing! Im very Excited to see the final look! after this oje is all done...maybe you can do a Knight Batman or a Cowboy/outlaw batman
Sir you are a artist
Awesome dude this cosplay is gonna be sick
Should name the blunderbuss Martha. Great job. You should make a set of Bolas, with each end in the bat logo shape.
This is amazing!
looks so good man!
That looks legit
The background is so cool
Your attention to detail is very good !! Looks like a functional , museum piece !!
But, for those copper rope holders ..... change those screws to copper or brass !!
Great job though !!
OH! Chris im literally wearing the same freaking thing i just dont have the harness or gun holster but still how cool is that!!
Really like the grappling gun. quick note: weather or change the screws that guide the rope. It just doesn't fit for an old pirate theme. I would weather it or change it to an old flat headed screw like the rest of the gun. just an idea. but al the rest looks great! congrats!
Fill the screw heads and make them a weathered brass colour, Philip heads didn't exist in pirate time. Excellent design, well done.
That looks so sick dude, you should also make a batarang too that would be badass
The costume looks absolutely beautiful! Really made mine look shit, although it was.
Looks DUCKING Awesome!
Great prop man! I would say if batman was using that as a club the blood would be on the other side with the curve down. Sorry that was the geek in me thinking the best way to hold it would be with that curve facing the enemy
that grapple was amazing I thought it was real metal!
great video dude
Chris's favourite word, 'crude'
Looks amazing!!!
Possibly make a "sling" for it to hang it from your side? Similar to what people use for tactical rifles. It would also allow Batman to stay connected to the gun as it pulls him to the other ship.
That looks epic!
I feel inspired. I'm thinking of making a Pirate Robin to match the atheistic of Pirate Batman.
First and foremost it looks amazing, so props for yo' prop.

More Pirate Batman !! 🙌
Incredibly inventive and fitting for the cosplay. Really love it.
Also, are you planning to tell us about that Cap cosplay? ..Well, if its a thing.
I really like this pirate batman, it's way better than Leather Wing.
This thing is amazing
Beautiful. While the weight on the rope would probably snap it in our universe, I think it would work just fine in Pirate Batman's universe.
so very freaking cool! how did u get the hook to stay in the gun though? I noticed when u turned it upside down it didn't move at all?
Hey Chris I've thought of a custom collectable you might be able to do it's the Hasbro Millennium falcon. I bet you'd be able to make it awesome
that's amazing
Starting to believe that 'crude' is his favourite word!
Very nice work on the grappling gun I wonder how Joker will look in the same time.
Just awesome!
I love it. Looks just fantastic. I had a question for you. I am trying to do a joker cosplay (specifically the killing joke cosplay) and I am trying to find a red hood for my tuxedo and was wondering if you had ideas on where to look?
That's fantastic.
finally been waiting since the ig post
Hey Chris love the channel... guess you read/have read batman comics, if so what's your favourite book/storyline ?
Fantastic!
Very nice!
Sweet flintlock grappling gun
that's really cool
Chris please come down to Oz Comic Con in Brisbane next weekend!
I was going to go to oz comic con but I forgot the dates. Hope you have fun.
looking good
SO DAMN GOOD!!!!!
Brilliant.
This looks really cool. I'm curious though, is this pirate Batman gonna have baterangs. If so I could almost image there being like a black beard thing though replacing the pistols with the baterangs.
it gives me more of an assasin vibe than a pirate
last time I was this early ben affleck was cast as batman
amazing!
Awesome!
epic chris!
sick
I agree
omg so cool
Start doing commission works, before you know it you can prop build full time
That is pretty cool, but why did you use Phillips head screws for that rope holder thingy rather than straight ones?
same!
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Pirates don't have Phillips head screws, lol. :)
should have used nails
Yes, but there are several flat head screws on this thing so they could fit.
Hey chris, i'm going to australia in november.
can you tell me where i can find a good action figure store in sidney (i live in brazil and here action figures prices are way too high) thank you
that looks fucking awesome but... i wouldn't really work
the gun powder would bern the rope
but it still look badass!.Good job!!
My one gripe is those screws on the bottom look a little too new and shiny. I'm kind of wondering about these weapons. Weren't some of these actual antiques? What kind of devaluation of old weapons happened in the process of this cosplay? That seems like it could have been extremely costly.

Awesome
fucking amazing mate!
Chris, I think you should cosplay as Rorschach from Watchmen, you have the right height.
Quick question where did you find the gun for the Batman pirate grabbling gun
Are you going to do a video on the Captain America helmet thats been in the background for a while?
That's amazing. How do you that wow.
can you do an alternate version of superman cosplay, it could be anything!!! but i wanted to see a samurai version of superman
That looks fucking beautiful! Now you just need to find a bat flagon for your rum, lol.
I was a little worried the gun would look too steam punk but this could not be any cooler
