      the "death trooper" blaster looks more like an E-11 blaster rifle (regular stormtrooper guns) than the DLT-19 heavy blaster rifles (larger and longer guns). plus, the bright orange and red paint job couldn't be more different than the black and silver guns

      @oneplumpboi5317 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Actually, that's the original sterling sub machine guns whoch were used for the e-11. The death trooper blaster used the handle though, and had a stock attachment (The rod type design, for extension)

    • @magaz
      @magaz 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fagdalf The Gay Similar to Captain Phasma's blaster... It bothered me that it had two stocks when I first saw it... A bit of a weird design choice...

    • @oneplumpboi5317
      @oneplumpboi5317 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      magaz the front grip doesn't fold into a stock, just turns into a vertical foregrip.

    • @magaz
      @magaz 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fagdalf The Gay Yeah I understand that, but aesthetically you can see it's still a stock. It's just one of those things that bugs me :)

    I've been binge watching your videos and I'm really impressed with your painting skills. I build a lot of things myself, but I rarely work with plastics, because when I paint things, they end up getting thrown in the trash.. Most of my work is done in metal, leather and wood.I can do a lot with materials that don't require paint. I'm also fond of adding LEDs to everything. LOL
    My plastic props usually end up being one sprayed on color with little or no weathering, but I add enough LEDs to keep people distracted from the horrible paint.
    I also want to mention what a lot of other commenters have, "Dirt from my driveway." The more videos I watched, the better that got. I just imagine your driveway looking like an archaeological dig site. LOL
    Keep up the awesome work!

    The Death Trooper blaster in movie and in toy figures didn't have the optic scope on top but had an optical or flashlight piece on the right side of the hand guard plus the rear stock is elongated. The handle of a put together lightsaber from toysrus could be attached to the rear to make it longer and more movie realistic. But overall great job.

  • @salvation7362
    @salvation7362 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    That material you used for the base looks similar to Plexi Glass. If so, one way to really get a nice polished look on the edges is to wave a propane blowtorch along the edge on a bit of an upward angle NOT directly towards it. Don't leave it on one spot for very long just quick waves back and forth along edges. It takes some practice but the end result is a very smooth polished edge. Love the content Chris, cheers.

    I've just bought one of the rogue one nerf rifles (the box says it is Sergeant Jyn Erso weirdly) and one of the nerf stocks because I couldn't get hold of the Cassian's rifle (I could get the pistol though) with my plan on cosplaying as somebody that exists in the Star Wars galaxy as a smuggler/Rebel supporter so I've been watching the rifle videos on your channel (I have been watching for a few years now) so that I know exactly what I'm doing once the weather warms up in the UK so I can start painting the rifle.

Just for future reference when it comes to heat discoloration of steel, It goes from a light straw color to darker straw to a light blue and progressively deeper down to purple then to brown and then to a darker shade of grey than the untouched metal. I hope this helps! Wonderful job though.
