Your channel is number 1. Hank's channel turned into a fishing channel.
nice to see the old historical equipment
Thank you
What a nice old farm. Love the old equipment.
Thanks for watching
That sawmill is very similar to the one that was across the street from us where I grew up. It was powered by the PTO on tractor but basically same concept. The old man had alot of old equipment like you showed in video. Thanks for sharing Wiley, brings back old memories!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you and thanks for sharing
I really enjoyed the walk through time with you and Jacob. There's some really cool stuff there. Some that I have used in my life. The feed grinder, the Harrow Rake, the Ford F100. Thank you.
Thanks Casey
@@DontbeWily yessir my friend.
At 21:46 grits mill?? Belt driven. Alot were built around water and used water power to drive the mill. So cool!! Wiley this place is awesome!!
Thanks for sharing
That place is a time capsule. Wow! I'm looking forward to the will it start on the pickup. Thanks for sharing, Wily!
Thanks
Got the plug wires yesterday.
Nice to see that ole ford truck , my father had one very similar. Brought back good memories of trips with him taking us kids on many adventures! When the truck was sold for scrap many years after he had passed I cut the side panels out that had his name painted on them with the town we once lived in . Thanks Wiley! I’m sure that ole girl will run again , you and your son will make memories doing so!
Thank you. Thanks for coming along
It’s 1956 or early 57 jd 420. Late 57 and all 58 models had a slanted steering wheel known as a phase 3. Another great vid.
That is awesome. That would make great yard art. What a fined.😊
Thanks for coming Along
I used one of those hay rakes when I was a kid in the mid 60s. You’d sit on a metal seat and use a foot pedal to lift the prongs up when they got full. You’d try to make a row of hay so you could run the bailer straight down the field.
Thank you for sharing that.
You look around for moon pie wrapper. You were thinking the exact same thing. When you said rc cola, that was the first thing that come to mind.😂
lol. I know Jacob did not have a clue of what I was talking about
Amazing to see all that old logging equipment, and the big power units are cool looking, and that old Chevrolet is cool looking, very hard to find an old pick up truck like that, Awesome video Wiley 👍👍👍👍
Hello wily and Jacob excellent video loved looking at that saw mill reminds me of the Waltons I could just see that giant blade I wish I was able to go back to yesterday and see this stuff in action thank you ken
You jogged out a memory with the Walton’s
Some history right there wiley great to see
Thanks for watching
I'd love to be wiley when ur exploring equipment like that 👍
Thank you for coming along
That VIN decodes to an F100, 302 as you guessed, Built in Ontario Canada, Built in March of 1972. The VIN doesn't include transmission back then.
I have in my hands, the original title to a 1972 Ford F100 long box! However I've only ever owned the box as it's been turned into a trailer that I purchased from the original owner. When I got it a decade ago it still had a working tailgate and factory taillights! The tailgate has since rusted off.
Now that JD 420 that was a popular machine. My Uncle owned one with a loader that had a trip bucket, I spent a fair amount of time on that tractor.
Looking forward to seeing your adventure with a good ole truck
Thanks for watching
Awesome walk arnd . Are you thinking of bringing the old Chev log machine out? Some of that belongs in a museum .
That place will bring some great videos for your channel! Looking forward to watching them in the future.👍
Nice stuff. That hurricane has me thinking of your safety. Hope all is well Whiley.
Thanks for another great video Wiley and Jacob. It was interesting and enjoyable to watch.
That was a walk thru history that is for sure. Was an old log saw mill back many years ago. It is a shame to let it all go to dust. I just don’t understand why they let the vegetation take it over instead of at least trying to save some of that for history sake. Seems like most of it is beyond saving now. That is a shame.
Don’t know about that old pickup Wiley. Don’t believe there is much left of it. Cab area is trashed.
I know you will try the motor but may not respond to you. Will be anxious to see how it comes out.
Thanks for showing us around. Lots of history there.
You and Jacob take care.
The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
😊👍🙏✅🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you Steve
Good video Wily and Jacob thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
That old Frick sawmill is awesome! Looks like maybe a Frick 0 looks a little big for a double 0. Man that brings back memories with my dad.
Buddy of mine just picked up a Corinth sawmill last weekend, says that’s going to be his retirement project. Evidently he doesn’t know what retirement means, lol
This is like watching Andy Griffith show-good stuff
Thanks
Very nice job and God bless y'all
Thank you

Someone needs to save that old log truck. That would be so so cool fixed up.
We going to try it.
Hey Wiley, those mice only must have been half hungry. They only ate half of the plug wires. That old logging truck would be a good time to start and run too.
Doc Martin
We are going back.
@@DontbeWily we will tune in. We love your exploits with Jacob!
it's hard to see old iron like that just rust away . Joel Reppe Clear Lake SD

I have a 1957 420 just like it. Simple and strong.
That old mill as you called sitting with the john deere was grinding feed, such corn or oats or whatever you wanted to grind.
Wow That's a Nice Old Ford P/U Truck Please Learn & Cherish The Time that you have with You're Dad Jacob as Time is Short Gauranteed
Thank you
Ive snaked logs a little over a foot threw , down out of the mountains with a comealong , a 1/4 inch chain about 15 foot , a 1/2 inch rope about 20 foot , a 6 foot slate bar and man power by myself . That was a hay rake , years ago we had one rigged to pull behind a ford tractor 600-800 and a piece of rope tied around the hay rake lever , when the rake got full you pulled the lever the rake would raise and dump a pile of hay , come back down and start raking again (it worked the same way if a horse was pulling the rake) . Then we pulled the hay bailer to each pile of hay and feed the bailer using pitch forks . That barrel manual hand pump sticking up out of the tank beside the pickup , thats what we used to prime diesel engines , with a rubber hose , no fitting on the end , remove the fuel supply line from the fuel tank , or where ever before the pump or injectors , force it into the rubber and a heater hose clamp or what ever , it doesnt take that much pressure to prime , you get the idea , once you get the engine running using the pump , shut it off and hook it up to the fuel supply . We used the push - pull and crank type manual pumps to prime .
My Dad would only use valvoline. He said Quaker State was like wax .
lol. Thanks for sharing
Some cool stuff
Wiley that is a walk back in time
Thanks for coming along

That is a John Deere 40 looks like anyway in the barn and I noticed that log cabin which is cool
I don't know the exact year or model but that tractor might be an early model 420. It looks similar to a 420 but it doesn't have the large yellow background decals going down the side of it.
Thank you for sharing
@@DontbeWily You are welcome.
Yep, it's a John Deere 420. My brother had the crawler version.
Thanks for sharing
I used to run Quaker State and everything I had until Shell oil bought it out and everybody tells me it's not any good anymore so I don't use it and that cooler you saw on that 302 engine there is for the power steering
Hay now, Ross the Oliver man-on TH-cam, might take that Gehl mill off your hand for a spare or parts, thanks , reach out to him, thanks BigAl California

Watch out Mr Wiley e Coyote and Jacob there may be some no necks out there rats raccoons possum and other critters are y'all gonna be starting something 👍✌️
Hello Wily, The AM radio that would have been in that truck was a “Philco” and I think that engine would have been a 302 cubic inch with probably a C4 automatic transmission. My dad bought it brand new 1972 F-100 truck with the Explorer trim package which that should be at the rear of each bedside what trim package the truck is that you are going to start up. One weird fact about those trucks around 1970-1972 especially was that the rear differential was slightly narrower than the front end which caused a good number of those trucks to be totaled due to that fact.
Thank you for Sharing that. When I go back to start it. I am going to try to remember and share this
@@DontbeWily The Custom was usually the “Plain Jane” work truck version with very few options and the Explorer was the mid-grade version with usually the AM Philco radio while the Ranger was the top of the line truck version offered by Ford that every option offered by Ford was subject to be on. We had more than a few of the Ford 302 engines in different vehicles that we owned and they were a very dependable engine and were probably the absolute best engines for starting up in cold weather.
Being that 302 engine had sat idle for quite a while, I would probably recommend that you remove the spark plugs and put some sort of oil in each cylinder. Believe it or not, The 32:1 TruFuel is really good to pour into the carburetor which also lubes everything up within the carburetor as well as serving as a fuel source. Good Luck with bringing the Ford truck back to life again, Wily.
What would they want for the 420 ?😊
the little jd is probally an MT/ early 50s
My those are old😊.

This thing is making oil 🛢

will it start??the name of the title makes no sense!!you did nothing to try to (make it start).what a waste of time to watch this video!!
My late dads family all 7 brothers and most of the nephews were in the carpentry business and my uncle Joe had a saw mill which was first started by my dads dad in the late 20's or 30's and stayed in business until the early 90's when uncle Joe passed my cousin Hal ran it part time for awhile and eventually shut down it was powered by a steam engine at the beginning then it was swapped over to a case gas engine like in this video and i think in the late 70's it went to a 3-53 Detroit and that powered it until it finally closed Uncle Joe was in his late 70's when he passed had 7 heart attacks and up until the day before he passed he was at the saw mill at 5 am monday thru Saturday..with a pot pf coffee brewing on the wood stove
Thank you for sharing that story
