If Verina was my neighbor, I would visit her for tea every day. Verina's dessert looks absolutely amazing. I'm salivating, honey & orange, como meràbile!. She is one smart cookie, wow, 100 years old & her mind works better than mine at almost 66. Blessings to you always, Verina.
Thank you. Verina is beautiful - and I would love to visit her garden and talk with her about her life. She was born the same year as my father, now gone. She's seen so much of life. Thank you for bringing her to us.
Thank You Verina! We The People of the world are fighting to keep what you made alive and well for decades to come. Grateful. Greetings from New England🎩.
Y'all, we're so close to 1 MIL subscribers!!! If any TH-cam channel deserves 1 MIL subscribers, and beyond, THIS IS IT! I've been subscribed to Past Grannies pretty much from day one, and I've never understood why it's taken so long for it to get to this point. This is such a wonderful, lovely, beautiful channel. They truly deserve the recognition. Let's make it happen! Un bacio a tutti!
What a joy it was to watch Verina! I found myself hanging on to her every word. So full of life and sweetness. Thank you for this wonderful episode. ❤️
Thanks Vicky for this great TREASURE Verina is, we need more beekeepers like her a century old cherishing God's creation in the beautiful land of Italy 🇮🇹 Sardegna Grazie Verina per il tuo dolce e il tuo sorriso. Ciao❤❤❤❤❤🙏💖🥰
What beautiful, smiling eyes Verina has…especially when she gets to sample her delightful pastry! What a remarkable lady, sharing her remarkable life with all of us. She surely is a Pasta Grannies treasure! TFS, Sharon♥️🤗🥮🥐
This was delightful! My kindergarten teacher died at 98 last weekend and she continued to teach (pottery for the last decades) at school until last December. Her granddaughter told me that during hospice, she, in a semi-conscious state, said she wanted to throw some pottery on the wheel and spent the next two hours making motions with her hands as if she were pulling clay and then said she needed to load the kiln.. Verina seems to have the same depth of connection to her beekeeping. It seems that a joyful occupation in life certainly makes these elders live better, richer, and possibly longer lives.
God bless Verina! A beekeeper and a dessert dish is a welcome addition to your channel and at 100 years old her mind and dexterity are a marvel. I cannot even imagine managing her hives for ninety years. May her dessert tort live on forever! Thanks for another great installment.
@@alentejaneiro Pardulas are called casadinas from casu (cheese) in another area of Sardinia because they use fresh sheep's cheese instead of ricotta. The name of the Portuguese dessert seems similar, coming from queijo?
Just precious. Boy, waiting for these last few subscriptions to get to 1 million is like watching a clock during a boring class. Get your celebration ready, Pasta Grannies!

What a wonder, Verina is an absolute star and what amazing stories she has. I loved her creations and I loved seeing her so happy and so young! Ramon xx.
My heart strings. Verina's eyes are full of joy and laughter. And she is clearly a proud bee mama. We have a saying here, that beekeepers are always good people. Such a delicious dish as well!
I'm currently in beautiful Sardegna and today we're going to an agriturismo where they also bake pardule. I'm already looking forward to it. The Sardinian people are wonderful!❤
What a wonderful lady ☺️ I'll try this receipe using honey from our bees 🐝 Time ago my grandfather was a beeskeeper, now my father and husband do this job, when needed I help them 😊
What a wonderful recipe!! I will definetely try it out!! 🍯🍊My darling grandmother, 1925-2020, she loved honey and she taught me to bake in the last Century 😄, and I always look for new good recipes. Thank you Signora Verina, best wishes from the German North Sea! 🐝🐝

I'm Sardinian and when I went to Crete on holiday, I wanted to try kalitsounia and kokoretsi, they are so similar to the Sardinian Pardula and Trattalia, we also have another dessert called Seada, it's a pastry filled with fresh sheep cheese, fried and served with honey, I ate something similar in Crete but I don't remember anymore its name.
What a beautiful, poised lady you are, Verina. It was such a pleasure to meet you within your paradise. May you live many more healthy years amongst tour bees. 🥰

Oh what a beautiful lady with a wonderful smile!! Verina was an absolute treasure and the desserts looked delicious and easy to make. Can't even imagine the life she has had. Was she ever married and had children of her own? I noticed that it was her niece and nephew helping her. God bless her and may she live long ❤
These "pardulas" look close to a traditional portuguese pastry from Alentejo called "queijadinha". Thank you very much for this great video, Mrs Vicky !
@GuidoBatt They're not so different from the sardinian pardulas. There are different types of them : the ones from Évora and the ones from the Azores, called "dona Amélias" (with bergamot) are the finest. Both can be found on the Web... the point about most of these ol' traditional portuguese pastries is you have to know many secret things to bake them to perfection, and it's mostly portuguese grannies who keep them ! They get awarded, some are famous like the wizzard of Oz !
Lovely. Sweet. Emotional. And a great recept that I will try to make. Our neighbors have beehives and I will make homemade ricotta for that! Thank you, Verina! And all of you in Pasta grannies!
These are similar to Karelian pies from Finland. They are oval shaped pies with ruffled dough edges and a filling in the midle. The dough is made with a mixture of rye and plain flour (3:1) and they have a rice filling. Rice is cooked in a mixture of milk, water and a little butter. Thay are then also baked and dunked whole in milk and butter mixture (butter is melted into milk). They are so pretty and so good but these Italian star shaped ones look beautiful and yummy too. Must try them, for sure! 😍🤤
Just watching this 100 year old lady smile gave me goosebumps.

@@pastagrannies I would love to hear more about Verina's life!
Good to see a granny living her best life! How marvellous, to have bees and enough flowers to keep them on, and oranges by the door.
My favourite part about all of these videos is hearing about the grannies and their earlier years. Love it so much.
8:34 the way she dips it in the acqua mielata with a cheeky smile hahahaha looks like it tastes divine! I wish her good health!

Nonna has such a lovely smile! Her treats look lovely, too.
‘Nona’ means ninth; if you’re going to use Italian words, it’s particularly important to spell them correctly; I think you mean ‘Nonna’.
