I hear all this. There's a lot of work that needs to be done in men being re-educated by men on manhood and how to relate to women. On the other hand, no woman knows what a man is, and therefore cannot decide, define or dictate to a man on what a man is, can be, or should be.
Men can re-learn on how to interact with women as men, as how men can best interact with women and without expecting men to behave according to the whims or fantasies of women. A common ground can reached where men and women make compromises, such that men are not reduced or heightened to what they're not, as well women not being reduced or heightened to what they're not.
It is important to understand that at this point of the discussion, women are severely disadvantaged in almost, if not all, aspects of life and their experience of womanhood so much so that even the concept of a woman in and among women themselves is warped.
The aim here is to get a practical solution that will not send all men to the gas chamber (much as many women wish they could), as that will not necessarily solve the problem, because you don't deal with trauma by inflicting trauma. Instead, men should do a really deep and brutally honest introspection on what being a man is and how they can best serve humanity for the greater while working harmoniously with the female counterparts.
I will not speak for women, because there too needs a lot of work to be done on how best to interact with the male counterparts in a harmonious manner for the greater good of humanity.

i watched the whole documentary, it is amazing. when the other man in the documentary said it does not kill a women to spank them i felt disgusted. this kind of behaviors children get them from home. for all of this madness to change lets first teach our boys what it takes to be a man and how to treat a woman. Then teach the girl child how a man who values her should treat her and to never let a man define her a value. the other thing is that men and some women misinterpret what bride price is for. For those who don't know, bride price is a sign of gratitude to the woman's family for raising her to be a fine lady she is, it is not used for buying the woman as she is not some product you can just toy around with.

80% of us are raised by single mothers and come from matriachal households. In South Africa the women is head of the household. I dont know what Patriachy are these people talking about. It is mostly women who graduate university in this country, nobody is stopping women from becoming president or becoming leaders. South Africa id one of the most equal countries in the world. Where is the patriachy?

Patriarchy - a system of society or government in which the father or eldest male is head of the family and descent is reckoned through the male line.
Male chauvinism - male prejudice against women; the belief that men are superior in terms of ability, intelligence
    Huge difference

Chauvinism is individual behavior, patriarchy is a system. Men benefit from it without having to be chauvinist. Patriarchy is a system of domination where the majority or political power, religious authority, money etc etc etc is controlled by men.

Realistically one cannot exist without the other. You cant give one human higher rights than another and expect him not to develop a superiority complex.

    • @heathersnyder8789

Under patriarchy, the Law of Coverature existed. We still have traces of it even in the most progressive areas. The female is born and has her father’s identity. When she marries, the wedding symbolizes the transfer of property. Under the Law of Coverature, a woman legally died and became her husband. She had no rights and didn’t own anything. If she worked her wages were her husband’s money. She couldn’t own property, open a bank account. Her children were not even hers. It’s like they took Eve, broke her, and returned her to be a rib to shove back into her husband and call that one flesh. It’s a system that doesn’t value women to the point they erase them.
