  • Insanely high real estate prices in Nanaimo are predicted to be a thing of the past. However, where did we see the highest fluctuation in home prices, North or South Nanaimo? Join Top Nanaimo Real Estate Agent Scott Lissa as he breaks down the past five years of real estate price increases and the predicted decrease forecasted by the British Columbia Real Estate Association in 2023.
Many factors play into the price of homes, such as mortgage interest rates, supply of homes, homebuyer demand, and affordability. The severe lack of home supply could currently offset the predicted 5% decrease in British Columbia real estate prices in 2023. It's going to be a crazy year on Vancouver Island one way or another.

Very interesting information. I live in the south end too. Thinking it might be time to move in the next couple years but may stay in the south end.

Should spend, or will spend? Two bedroom units are going for around $1800 at the moment. One bedroom for around $1200 or more. You might get a room share for around $600-$750.

Too bad Nanaimo especially the downtown and the south are overrun by crime and homelessness. You’ll feel right at home if you are moving in from Portland.

There are around 500 homeless people in Nanaimo from a population of over 105,000. These people need to live their lives with much less than the average person. Think of all the things you are thankful for and try to help others.
