    Very impressed, I have a broken hoverboard just sitting around so I was gonna try and make something out of it, the only problem is that I lack some electronics knowledge.
    I would love to see you explain like what and why the electronics parts do, for instance that yellow connector, the different wires that stick out of that speed controller box.

    I did a 350w conversion recently, I made the battery 250wh 7ah 2p10s Mj1 ... I split the pack and placed 4 batteries within each side hole of the chassis rail, as well as 12 batteries in the centre channel, there was also room in the centre channel for the controller ! I still have rear suspension too ! ;) I may copy your battery cover technique !

  • @greg23842384
    @greg23842384 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    I did exactly the same project few months ago and scooter still going strong. I have overvolted this motor to 75 volts as i have found it was slow on hoverboard battery that is only 36volt nominal. Now it pulls like a horse and peak at 2000wats!!! You should make polyurethane tyre for back wheel as this solid rubber cause lots of rolling resistance and your motor will be hot after few miles. Mine after polyurethane mod runs cool and consume 50%less energy so its a mod worth doing

    • @pxl666
      @pxl666 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      greg can u elaborate? Isn't easier to replace tire for pneumatic one ??

    • @greg23842384
      @greg23842384 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Olga Piskorska you can't replace with pneumatic tyre as there is no space for tube valve you would have to drill thru hub motor and magnets and then motor stator would prevent wheel from spinning unless you would somehow mods this and route valve to come out on the side of motor. I basicly used polyurethane same material that skate wheels are made off. You can buy kit mix two part like resin and pour into mold and you get perfect low rolling resistance wheel. Please check my channel I have short video showing my scooter partially finished

    Hi! Awesome build! How did you find the wattage of the motor? I have an old monowheel motor (14'') that I want to use for a big scooter (offroad) project but I'm not sure of which speed controller I must buy... Also I'm worried with the hall sensors because it might not be color coded as the motor is. Did you have this issue? Thanks
