I personally think that what's written in this book can still be used today

I found the book translated by Charles Singleton, published in 1959 but I've got it in 1981 from my brother. I need to re-read it! Thanks for the video - I was looking and it's my luck to find it! 👍

I was taken by your reference to Alexander the Great sleeping with a copy of the "Iliad". It reminded me that Napoleon is said to have had with him throughout his numerous campaigns a copy of "Die Leiden des jungen Werthers" ("The sorrows of young Werther") by Goethe. Another example of a "Renaissance Man" albeit in the 18th/19th Centuries.

Just check out the section regarding the EDUCATION such a boy and young man who wants to become a Courtier. He has to have the correct attitude and he has to be suave, cultured, and polite - while also being off-hand and easy peasy. The back of the book is in many ways more important than the dialog itself.

What other books would you suggest for leadership or knowledge of people other than the prince and the Courtier?

Sometimes the Google AI drops real gems into one's lap. Your students might like to like to visit The History Guy channel. He specialises in putting out short videos around 10m on "history that should be remembered". These events not always referred to in textbooks, but play an important role in various areas of human development like science, politics, philosophy and social science. His video on the Lisbon Earthquake and its impact on the Enlightenment bought me to you today. I would recommend it to your students and anyone who loves history.

He's talking about how you have to be multiple things as a person while he educates us and seemingly accidentally shows us that he's a great Dad at the same time. I would say it was scripted but it just seemed too genuine.

Exactly why would I sound like an idiot for not being pretentious enough to afect a pronunciation that is counterintiuitive and alient to my mother tongue! I would like to see how you pronounce Dvořák. Maybe you should go ask your friend.
