I know that this is a joke comment but here's a few short and sweet answers: No GUI, pretty much all of the frontends suck, implementing stuff like custom textures, reshade, and even basic stuff like changing your controller inputs are more of a pain in the ass, again, because of no proper GUI.
The positives is that its never had any viruses or nagware like Project64, but RetroArch has a Mupen64 libretro core with a solid UI, implementing textures is a pain, but everything else runs like a dream. Anyways this random tangent of a comment is over now.

i'd also really like if they added back some of the stuff from the original, like the fog. removing it kinda takes away from the ambience of a lot of environments, and makes them feel a lot less mysterious and frightening. like, imagine if silent hill didn't have the fog implemented to cover up the fact that the game had a really short draw distance due to hardware limitations. the game wouldn't have been nearly as immersive and the environments would have been much less interesting. it just doesn't feel the same.

Short gist is... You install CFW on your 3DS, which allows you to run custom apps. These apps are called .cia files. There's one called the homebrew launcher, which allows you to run .3dsx homebrew programs.
When you finish installing CFW, you download the cheats, put them in the right folder, and enable them on startup. After that, play the game like normal.

Maybe if they feel like it they could tweak some other things. Like giving back the sword to the Giant Mask while giving the blue Twin Mold some small little lightning arrow attacks (Not actual arrows) from its eyes. Or allowing the Fierce Deity's mask to be useable anywhere along with him kneeling to get through doors (I would love to see how every NPC screams in terror at the presence of a Dark God).
But I would say improving Dampe's speed and AI would be very welcome. Having song effects occur immediately after performing them (So when you do the Emptiness song you can allow it to spawn freely while you do other tasks.
Another small bonus (But I'm not going to be pushy) would be to add a small mana refill effect to one of the masks at the cost of your life kind of like the Blast Mask. I would probably go with the cow mask because it allows you access to the Milk Bar that lets you buy infinite mana potions for a whole 3 day cycle.
