Pekoe Trail is a 300+km-curated long-distance walking trail through the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka, which traverses the vast network of tea trails that make up the Sri Lankan Tea Country.
The 22-stage walking trail takes you through some of the finest ecology and mountain terrain in South Asia as you begin your journey in Kandy and make your way to Nuwara Eliya, passing through Haputale, Hatton and Ella. This interconnecting trail network will enable visitors to discover varying terrain, history, culture, food and local community on foot in short sections, or as part of a multi-day experience.
Here's the Stage 6 from Watagoda to Kotagala via Talawakelle. Total length is 9.3 miles (15 km).

    Special Note for the Viewers:
I have spent so much time / money / energy bringing this to you so that you may enjoy it Please don’t misuse the details shared to destroy this beautiful location / specie.
You are very humbly requested to follow the below advice / steps in order to save our Mother Nature for present and future.
    * Avoid careless/irresponsible/money-oriented/mega tour groups or organizers.
    * Travel in small groups as Mother Nature can’t afford so much footprint at once. Stick to the designated trails or hardback surfaces at all times.
    * Minimize the use of polythene/plastic and do bring them back. Please don’t burn them in the wilderness. Even organic/bio-degradable waste is harmful to the nature and animals. Just stick to the simple rule of “if you pack it in, pack it out”.
    * Use reusable water bottles, plates and cups. Even paper cups/plates are harmful and take years to decompose.
    * Remain quiet and vigilant. Don’t disturb the tranquility of the nature or wildlife as it is their home. Be considerate of other trekkers as well.
    * Collect and bring any litter/garbage left behind by other careless travelers.
    * Don’t light fires unnecessarily and do try to use portable cookers instead of using firewood when camping. If you must, only use firewood on the ground and don’t cut any trees for this.
    * Don’t bring any plants back with you or cut any trees/branches unnecessarily. They only grow in those areas and removing them would cause irreparable damage to the environment.
    * Don’t use soap / shampoo when bathing in natural streams.
    * Overall - Just don’t do anything that harms the Mother Nature.

Hi Richard - Thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed it. Yes, planning to do all 22 but not sure how soon I can finish them. Last week we finished Stage 15 as the climate in Uva is better these days.

Waiting for your video. Longing to watch your adventure.
Your first Pekoe trek ends at Galaha. Can you please tell me the meaning of this name?
    Thank you in advance.

Guess you're wondering how the Galaha came to be or the meaning - If so, I'm yet to come across it in detail. Will share if I happen to find.

@@SriAbeywickrema Thank you so much for your reply.
About 12 years ago, i wrote an essay on that town for Wikipedia. During that time, i was intrigued by the name Galaha.
I heard locals saying, it had some connection with the huge fruit farm established (now only remnants are there) with huge stone construction around the garden. I understand Gal means stone in Sinhalese.. But, didn't understand the full meaning Galaha..
In your videos, you were explaining names like khumbare, pathane etc. So, i thought of asking you.
