When was this? I’m planning on going in 2 weeks and I couldn’t get tickets. Was a lot of people in line? How long did you wait to get your ticket?

Hey! This was from August 12th to August 14th, 2023.
I had to wait about an hour at the police station to get my group number.
Then, the following morning, we waited about an hour at the Ministry of Culture to buy the ticket.
The Ministry of Culture sells some tickets online, which is what is "sold out." However, they also keep some tickets available for people to buy in-person.
It's now the Low season in Machu Picchu (less busy). It's easier to buy a ticket. You can simply go to the Ministry of Culture at 2pm when you arrive in Aguas Calientes and purchase your ticket for the next day. There's no need to wait in line and get a group number at the police station.
Let me know how I can help.

How did it work out for you when you went? I am going at the end of the month and all tickets are sold out. I have little kids. Any hope?

Thank you for sharing this video. Is the Cultural Center open early? Or do I come back at 2:30

Hey! It’s still Low Season! I bet you can go directly to the Cultural Center to buy tickets (no police line involved.)
The details are constantly changing, so it might help to reach out to a travel agency.
      God speed Ms. Sarah Pulcino🤘

Hey! Only bus (then the Inca Rail or Peru Rail) go from Cusco to Aguas Calientes. There are no Ubers nor taxis in Aguas Calientes.
If this ever becomes outdated, I will immediately update the video.
Happy the video was able to help. :)

Can I take a taxi to get to MP from Aguas Calientes? Or it is necessary to go by bus?

I am going in 3 weeks , all of a sudden there are zero tickets online. How much of a pain in the ass was it to wait to get a ticket?

    • @OfficialClintJames
      @OfficialClintJames  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! It's not a hassle.
Right now, it's the Low Season (less busy), so getting a ticket in person is easier. You can skip the police station and go directly to the Culture Ministry in Aguas Calientes to buy a ticket. At worst, you may have to wait an extra day to see Machu Picchu.

What time do you recommend getting to Aguas ? I can train from cusco early morning at 4am but that’s after a day of traveling from Dallas to Miami to Lima, then catching a flight from Lima to cusco. My next option is to sleep in a little and take a train around 8 or so to get to Aguas, would that be enough time to get a ticket for the next day ? Or is showing up earlier the best option ?

@@stephensmith675 Since it's Low Season, you can probably sleep in and take the train around 8am. Then, in Aguas Calientes, you can head directly to the Ministry of Culture. I was last told tickets were sold around 12pm to 2pm, but the Ministry does change this throughout the season. Ideally, you can stay in Aguas Calientes for a couple days, just in case. Keep me posted 👍
