This happens every 2nd-3rd season. The game "enters" a dying phase (without actually dying) and then the game is left like that for a little while, until EA introduces some big change that "saves" the game. That's how it was with the class update, the talent system etc. They know how to milk the game, and they also know that people will just keep playing so they take their time with the meaningful updates, till the very last minute, before it's too late

I've been a pretty dedicated player from season 0 up until this most recent season, and the reason I stopped is (apart from little respect for my time as a player) the predatory and aggressive microtransactions. I hate that every event has seemed to get more and more expensive, and not only that, they've started to go back to their Iron Crown style events with random cosmetics in packs, as opposed to letting me buy whatever I want and not leaving it up to chance.
i am a big fan of apex. but a few weeks ago they banned me for absolutely NO reason at all. (after the latest update). they didn't even tell me WHY they banned me. i contacted them 2 times and they said i didn't follow their rules. 1st they banned me for no reason. 2nd they banned me PERMANENTLY... i hate this game and EA now.. edit: btw i have 1300 hours playtime, and spent money on it edit: OH MY GOD THANKS EA. Yes they are, at least when a cool skin and oc at a reasonable price i buy it and play with that character for weeks just bcs i wanna show off or see my new skin, the problem with apex its that skins are 90% of the content hahaha, but look at fortnite, i mean like half of the game is buying skins and emotes

I am getting so low level player as teammates. Bloodhound doesn't know how to scan, path doesn't know about zip line, some bangs do not smoke, some do not charge shield. Absolute chaos. Ranked servers are broken too, 300 ping in many matches , specially in KC map.
Match making is the biggest reason I don’t play like I’m a sliver 2 why am I getting a whole diamond player lobby it’s rough. And winning just doesn’t feel good anymore it’s like more of a relief I finally got one
Its cause the game thing you have diamond skill so they make you play there then you win way more point and get diamond faster. why is that wrong ? its like that on every game. Try league of legends and destoy some silver you will play in platine emerald as silver. And its not to punish you but to make you rankup faster to make you play at your real skill level. The ranked at base was not something mean to be grind but something mean to put player in a safe environnement playing only vs people that have approximatively same skill level of you, then they saw people were addict to grind so they made it that way and created sbmm for unranked game.

Look I HATE THIS ABOUT DEVELOPERS and the exact reason why I'm learning coding so I can make games people want, because I know what the people that play the game wants. These companies don't give a shit about anything EXCEPT MAKING SURE THE STORE WORKS. they haven't a clue about what makes people want to spend money, and have let their greed have a hold of their passion. That's why I'm on my mission to fix this problem.
I deleted apex last year, I grinded to pred for season one, didn't get my badge or pred jump trail but I looked over that, then when they started really changing kc I started swaying away from apex. But when they made us start playing pc players that was it for me, I played 5 games and died to cheaters in every single one. I spectated my killer and they where wall hacking and aim botting. I'll just go play TF2 like I have for years.
I think there's so many things in play rn 1) No new event 2) Solos got invested with bots on all the servers as of late making the only event in the game rn not fun 3) With the announcement of legend-centric heirlooms being switched to Cobalt Katars people didnt care about the game and only see money in it 4) The servers are getting spikes for no reason more frequently and I kinda had enough of Apex being the only multiplayer game right now that is noticeably bad at maintaining servers. 5) This current battlepass is ass, no need to grind it out 6) June-Early July is the day for most people when they finish their final exams, graduation in school so it can also be that 7) The lack of communication Respawn does lately about bugs 8) I only play ranked but ngl Broken Moon is the only fun map for ranked everything is too open or being absolutely sweaty. 9) More people have that one friend than that two friend available, removing Duos was a braindead move. 10) Queue times are became extremely long for me atleast

Me idk why i love this season. I feel like no sbmm in normal game (I can face itz Timmy 60k kills + predator and Little Timmy level 22 rookie who only have a 2k badge in the same match) and about ranked i dont care at all. The only issue i have with this season is there is no DUOS MODE. Previous season were a pain in the ass with the sbmm.
Its Sad to See Apex Like This to be honest. I remember the day apex came out and it was fun as hell, a few years later, the game is dying. Hopefully the devs do something good that is worth playing
I went to my friend's house, and I found out he had apex legends. He was level 2, he just played a couple of matches this season. So I started a solo. Got killed by a 20 bombs 4k on alter, master. Awesome sbmm

Personally i wish for a couple things 1. Duos ranked 2.more diverse hop ups example such as rapid fire, akimbo, and slect fire(with adjusted damage) 3. More changes on existing guns to make them popular and to show love to the stuff thats in there now 4. Weekly updates like fortnite does 5. Bring arena maps for mixtape with different game modes example like search an destroy from COD but with apex legends. That and having arenas come back like an LTM
This game just isn't worth playing rn (and If this continues will die out completely) with the cheaters, greed, sbmm, no interesting new content (besides Alter) etc. And its a shame since this game has so much potential but EA and Respawn are ruining it with their ridiculous incompetence
Good. They need to see how they ruin their game. Im stopped playing at the beginning of the season, due to them enabling crazy ALGS SBMM in pubs, in solos, and Broken Moon rework being absolutely terrible. Now i only log in once per 2 days to collect daily packs, and occasionally play one control game. Unless they revert SBMM back to "playable" state, im not returning. Instead im having tons of fur replaying Mass Effect.
So for me, I only play Apex on a Saturday, I have gone from playing mid week to just one day. Thankfully I haven't come across the Hackers plaguing apex at the moment as I am a console player. So for me when Apex first came out, I enjoyed the speed of the games, it was 15-20 minutes per game, with the introduction of Broken Moon and Storm Point the maps are just to Big and it gets really boring so quickly, it could be 15-20 mins before you see another team. I am looking forward to the new map as it's looks to be a smaller map, so we shall see. But another pointer is, I don't understand why they don't have different game modes. Singles/duo's/trios/quads in both pubs and ranked would be nice.
i'm just sick of broken moon, whenever i get on apex i always somehow get broken moon as my comp map and something like a 7hr rotation wait so i go play something else and have fun and just forget the game exist, i've been playing destiny 2 the past couple of day and it's like got me in a trance.
I haven’t played since the end of Season 3. Came back recently cause friends wanted to try it, we’re having a blast. Take a break for a bit and come back to it if you’re not having fun. Went from grinding everyday for half the day to not playing for a couple years lol. Now when I’m at work I just want to get home and run some games with the boys

i feel like respawn makes the right changes and decisions and but ea's just up their ass and ruining every decision or limiting them which adds up to a lot of damage over time
I really doubt it’s all EA not letting them add anything of value into the game. Or anything at all. Especially when EA likes to brag about the money tree Apex is. They care about the financial aspect of it. Respawn is just a trash company who’s a house slave to EA. They should’ve stuck to Titanfall.
I play every day for 1-2 hours and really have fun. Many people get bored in apex because they fly to the end of the map and play like rats. I would get bored eventually too.
Orrr hear me out… we play pc and have wallers or rage hackers or 3 stacks who sit back with snipers full games while my teams getting aped by another 3 stack…. Or fighting pro players?
1. Season 21 drops 2. Grinds ranked with 2 friends. 3. We hit Diamond 4 and the game literally becomes unplayable. From 1 cheater every 5-6 matches to at least 1 cheater every match, either ragehacking or a closet cheater and if you do manage to get lucky there will be at least 1 or 2 pred 3 stacks in the lobby. Good luck gaining RP. 4. We demote to Platinum 1 after 15 games in Diamond 4. 5. We notice that the matchmaking hasn't change at all. We're still playing in the same dogshit diamond+ lobbies. 6. All 3 of us quit Ranked. 7. One of our mates quits Apex entirely. 8. Me and my other friend want to play some Duo's, but that has been removed and we both hate trio pubs because 80% of the lobby always dies within the first 5 minutes, don't have a 3rd anymore and we love the endgame zone chaos you get in Ranked 9. We try out the Solo mode, but don't like it because we want to play together. 10. We end up playing Mixtape only...
I feel like for the Battlepass, instead of having a ton of trash filler, it would be way better if we had less but higher quality content. And, they could even do battlepass skin recolours that you earn via challenges.
I hope they bring ranked arenas with a mixtape mode. capture the flag, hard point, king of the hill, Hell odd ball from Halo. something that's competitive and doesn't have to be one thing would be really nice. It would be a fresh rank rotation too instead of waiting for a split we have all these modes in one ranked arenas.

Look around, majority of Br's, hell all MP games riddled with cheaters, bad servers, bugs, horrible sbmm Eomm and who knows what else. Have you even played any other Mp game or Br for more than 2 years? I've played fortnite for thousands of hours and cod among other games and they are same if not worse lol. Fortnite has done sht after sht, its nothing like it used to be, then again for me it's just horrible changed, perhaps others like and vice versa, i'm not even going to talk about cod mp or warzone and all the new hype games like finals etc are doing bad also. I'ts gaming overall not just apex.
The issue is the people who are still playing this game are either a streamers or a grinders or with a premade squad, and for any one who plays a game for 2 times a week and solo queue, of course it will be boring just log in and stay the most of the time in the lobby , for sure I’m not playing this game and play a game that i can actually have fun during my limited time
They could easily release an LTM and call it smth like flashback and just give everyone Titanfall movement (we know its in the code and its possible from shadowfall) and change the damage numbers to what they were in Titanfall, easy LTM thats both interesting and extremely different from what apex usually is LTMs drag people back, ESPECIALLY if they are extremely different from the normal apex gameplay loop
the monetization/battlepass situation is always rough, and the cheating problem is real. but id be lying if i said this season wasnt some of the most fun ive had in a minute. Alter is such a fun legend, im really loving the new Broken Moon, and im... kind of coming around on perks? in a way i didnt expect. i hope that the new map pulls people back in.
Apex just absolutely sucks and I probably won't come back because every game I join has players with 40k kills, 20 bomb badges. Apex peaked when I wielded that buster sword. I was mult-squad wiping every game solo in trios.
They need to change the store too. I know, we need to hit EA/Respawn where it hurts, in the pocket. But in the topic of improvement, they have to change how the normal store works, I'm tired of waiting for more than a year for a specific skin to come back, only to check the store weekly and see MID shit.
I still don’t think there’s enough content. They adjust the meta that much if at all really. There’s no other FPS that goes so long with barely anything changing. It doesn’t help that when they do add things they take something away half of the time. I don’t see why they didn’t just build on Arenas for example instead of scrapping it entirely. As for the weapons, we could start making everything that isn’t viable fun to use at least.
Honestly it's between playing other games (warzone, XDEFIENT and overwatch) and the queues for rank are annoyingly long and when I get into a match it's against 3 stack preds and I get 2 bronze players somehow even though I'm in plat and also the season just feels dry
One change this season which is insanely dumb is when someone leaves the match early when they're knocked, you dont get a shield swap from that deathbox. Glorifiying leaving the match before your squad dies is so stupid, especially in a "team based game"
Apex Legends was never a"team based game" devs talk that s...t because they don't want to devide people and they made this event very bad on purposes,Solo mode was a succes first time,but now is garbage, fast ring and pre made guns and that stupid sense of warning for nearby enemy...not to mention all the guns and legends are nerfed to the wost state from S0 till now.

What you said about the lore is super true. I came in season 3 just because of the lore and mirage voyage plug at TGA. The lore between loba and revenant was interesting but imo as soon as it got to Horizon things started taking a turn for the worse. There was just an oversaturation in lore with twitter posts, story chapters, etc. I enjoyed lore hunting and speculating, not being spoonfed lore.
Season 11 was the last time I properly sat down and played Apex, game was far too sweaty and just felt stagnant to me. I came back like a couple months ago and now it just feels like a sweaty, boring experience :( I'd give a kidney for them to just drop season 0 apex as it was again because those first few weeks were MAGICAL dawg
bro this is so weird for me because i used to be really into apex but stopped around season 11 or a bit after ash dropped and ive just picked the game up again and started grinding in season 21. I have uni and work long hours so i mainly play at night on the oregon servers and id say after like 12 am servers take a while to fill up (if they ever do)
In Arena mode, I could arrange the weapons as I wanted, and the mixtape doesn't have to play with certain weapons. (I've played the BR mode 30 times at most since the arane mode came along, the arena is gone, the mixtape continues, but it's not as fun as the arena.)

I would feel more interested if they provided more interesting rewards for grinders. DIve trails was my motivation to play rank, now they remove it I'm demotivated for just a stupid ranked banner u only see once the game started.

I recently started playing again for the first time in a LONGGGG time, having a blast but i mean one of my first matches had a rage hacker, it was pretty detrimental on my decision on rather playing any more is worth it
I haven't played Apex since I get constant packet loss, therefore hit reg and the game is just unplayable while every other internet requiring game runs like a charm. I remember clearly the devs saying SOLOS will never come back to Apex and did I understand well that there is a SOLO mode now in the game? Now I just fell like the devs try everything to see what hooks the players to get as much money out of its comunity as possible which as a business is totally fine. But when your product is this bad that it wont run at all, has cheaters and you getting rewarded for your efforts is pretty much non existent, yeah, I'm not surprised the game is failing at its only job. ENTERTAIN.
What drove me away was the trash matchmaking. This was the first season where I threw down the controller and said "I just can't keep up". Everyone downed me in less the 5 seconds and I just found myself losing every gun fight. It wasn't like this last season. The matchmaking just got worse and while I was trying to get better I came to realize the game just wasn't fun anymore. Thank goodness for XDefiant though. Now that's a fun game!
I haven't played at all this season. I was actually looking forward to this season but I'm just not feeling it anymore, might be the first battle pass I don't finish by the looks of it
I feel like the only goal I have is to get a 20 bomb. Have gotten 18 twice (the other was in the solos mode this season) and I have gotten 13-17 kills so many times, I cant find enough enemies (I dont have friends to play with so I play solo duos). Basically I got kinda bored since the only goal I have needs luck.
It’s gaming in general, game developers and publishers are getting lazy with their content updates and not listening to what people really want. Every game feels too similar and nothing feels unique. Almost every game has a battle/season pass in it, tons of microtransactions, and doesn’t even really try to differentiate themselves from the competition. The lack of new legends and the leaked map still not releasing (if it’s only leaks it’s fine but respawn already teased it for so long but nothing yet) Also the fact that you fight against old predators in bronze/ iron matches is crazy
i tried to play apex with some friends, at first it was all fine but when we reached to lvl 10 things go realy out of hand, we would play on the same lobbys as hardcore master/predator ranked players or lvls 450 players, so yea at least for us apex is that type of game that killing someone is a luxury and not something needed, unfortunately apex being a realy high ttk game with no SBMM realy can make someone quit the game in less than 2 hours. (at least in my opinion)
I'm not going back. Last season I had pred lobby after pred lobby in duos with my buddy and they all just knew where we are at all times. It felt unfair to play 20 matches back to back where enemies always played perfect counters to our strats and moves with no info and so we quit
A problem I'm facing in Apex Legends is the "Skill-Based Matchmaking" (SBMM). My boyfriend and I are "newbies." I used to play on the console and was level 500, so I have some game knowledge, but I'm still not used to aiming on the PC. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is truly a beginner and is learning to play. However, we had a match where I got 8 kills and he got 5, and since then, we've only been matched against predators, masters, and players who play daily.

An heirloom costs 150 shards, so put 30 shards at the end of each battlepass. Every 5 battlepasses you complete, you get a guaranteed heirloom

I've been a pretty dedicated player from season 0 up until this most recent season, and the reason I stopped is (apart from little respect for my time as a player) the predatory and aggressive microtransactions. I hate that every event has seemed to get more and more expensive, and not only that, they've started to go back to their Iron Crown style events with random cosmetics in packs, as opposed to letting me buy whatever I want and not leaving it up to chance.

i am a big fan of apex. but a few weeks ago they banned me for absolutely NO reason at all. (after the latest update). they didn't even tell me WHY they banned me. i contacted them 2 times and they said i didn't follow their rules. 1st they banned me for no reason. 2nd they banned me PERMANENTLY... i hate this game and EA now..

I am getting so low level player as teammates. Bloodhound doesn't know how to scan, path doesn't know about zip line, some bangs do not smoke, some do not charge shield. Absolute chaos. Ranked servers are broken too, 300 ping in many matches , specially in KC map.

Its cause the game thing you have diamond skill so they make you play there then you win way more point and get diamond faster. why is that wrong ? its like that on every game. Try league of legends and destoy some silver you will play in platine emerald as silver. And its not to punish you but to make you rankup faster to make you play at your real skill level. The ranked at base was not something mean to be grind but something mean to put player in a safe environnement playing only vs people that have approximatively same skill level of you, then they saw people were addict to grind so they made it that way and created sbmm for unranked game.

I deleted apex last year, I grinded to pred for season one, didn't get my badge or pred jump trail but I looked over that, then when they started really changing kc I started swaying away from apex. But when they made us start playing pc players that was it for me, I played 5 games and died to cheaters in every single one. I spectated my killer and they where wall hacking and aim botting. I'll just go play TF2 like I have for years.
I think there's so many things in play rn
1) No new event
2) Solos got invested with bots on all the servers as of late making the only event in the game rn not fun
3) With the announcement of legend-centric heirlooms being switched to Cobalt Katars people didnt care about the game and only see money in it
4) The servers are getting spikes for no reason more frequently and I kinda had enough of Apex being the only multiplayer game right now that is noticeably bad at maintaining servers.
5) This current battlepass is ass, no need to grind it out
6) June-Early July is the day for most people when they finish their final exams, graduation in school so it can also be that
7) The lack of communication Respawn does lately about bugs
8) I only play ranked but ngl Broken Moon is the only fun map for ranked everything is too open or being absolutely sweaty.
9) More people have that one friend than that two friend available, removing Duos was a braindead move.
10) Queue times are became extremely long for me atleast

Me idk why i love this season. I feel like no sbmm in normal game (I can face itz Timmy 60k kills + predator and Little Timmy level 22 rookie who only have a 2k badge in the same match) and about ranked i dont care at all. The only issue i have with this season is there is no DUOS MODE. Previous season were a pain in the ass with the sbmm.
Its Sad to See Apex Like This to be honest. I remember the day apex came out and it was fun as hell, a few years later, the game is dying. Hopefully the devs do something good that is worth playing

1. Duos ranked
2.more diverse hop ups example such as rapid fire, akimbo, and slect fire(with adjusted damage)
3. More changes on existing guns to make them popular and to show love to the stuff thats in there now
4. Weekly updates like fortnite does
5. Bring arena maps for mixtape with different game modes example like search an destroy from COD but with apex legends. That and having arenas come back like an LTM

Good. They need to see how they ruin their game. Im stopped playing at the beginning of the season, due to them enabling crazy ALGS SBMM in pubs, in solos, and Broken Moon rework being absolutely terrible. Now i only log in once per 2 days to collect daily packs, and occasionally play one control game. Unless they revert SBMM back to "playable" state, im not returning. Instead im having tons of fur replaying Mass Effect.

So for me, I only play Apex on a Saturday, I have gone from playing mid week to just one day. Thankfully I haven't come across the Hackers plaguing apex at the moment as I am a console player. So for me when Apex first came out, I enjoyed the speed of the games, it was 15-20 minutes per game, with the introduction of Broken Moon and Storm Point the maps are just to Big and it gets really boring so quickly, it could be 15-20 mins before you see another team. I am looking forward to the new map as it's looks to be a smaller map, so we shall see. But another pointer is, I don't understand why they don't have different game modes. Singles/duo's/trios/quads in both pubs and ranked would be nice.

2. Grinds ranked with 2 friends.
3. We hit Diamond 4 and the game literally becomes unplayable. From 1 cheater every 5-6 matches to at least 1 cheater every match, either ragehacking or a closet cheater and if you do manage to get lucky there will be at least 1 or 2 pred 3 stacks in the lobby. Good luck gaining RP.
4. We demote to Platinum 1 after 15 games in Diamond 4.
5. We notice that the matchmaking hasn't change at all. We're still playing in the same dogshit diamond+ lobbies.
6. All 3 of us quit Ranked.
7. One of our mates quits Apex entirely.
8. Me and my other friend want to play some Duo's, but that has been removed and we both hate trio pubs because 80% of the lobby always dies within the first 5 minutes, don't have a 3rd anymore and we love the endgame zone chaos you get in Ranked
9. We try out the Solo mode, but don't like it because we want to play together.
10. We end up playing Mixtape only...

They could easily release an LTM and call it smth like flashback and just give everyone Titanfall movement (we know its in the code and its possible from shadowfall) and change the damage numbers to what they were in Titanfall, easy LTM thats both interesting and extremely different from what apex usually is

One change this season which is insanely dumb is when someone leaves the match early when they're knocked, you dont get a shield swap from that deathbox. Glorifiying leaving the match before your squad dies is so stupid, especially in a "team based game"

What you said about the lore is super true. I came in season 3 just because of the lore and mirage voyage plug at TGA. The lore between loba and revenant was interesting but imo as soon as it got to Horizon things started taking a turn for the worse. There was just an oversaturation in lore with twitter posts, story chapters, etc. I enjoyed lore hunting and speculating, not being spoonfed lore.
It just doesn’t feel fun anymore, I feel like you must always need to sweat to even survive in the game- whether it’s solos or normal queuing

I have uni and work long hours so i mainly play at night on the oregon servers and id say after like 12 am servers take a while to fill up (if they ever do)
In Arena mode, I could arrange the weapons as I wanted, and the mixtape doesn't have to play with certain weapons. (I've played the BR mode 30 times at most since the arane mode came along, the arena is gone, the mixtape continues, but it's not as fun as the arena.)

I haven't played Apex since I get constant packet loss, therefore hit reg and the game is just unplayable while every other internet requiring game runs like a charm. I remember clearly the devs saying SOLOS will never come back to Apex and did I understand well that there is a SOLO mode now in the game? Now I just fell like the devs try everything to see what hooks the players to get as much money out of its comunity as possible which as a business is totally fine. But when your product is this bad that it wont run at all, has cheaters and you getting rewarded for your efforts is pretty much non existent, yeah, I'm not surprised the game is failing at its only job. ENTERTAIN.

What drove me away was the trash matchmaking.
This was the first season where I threw down the controller and said "I just can't keep up". Everyone downed me in less the 5 seconds and I just found myself losing every gun fight. It wasn't like this last season.
The matchmaking just got worse and while I was trying to get better I came to realize the game just wasn't fun anymore. Thank goodness for XDefiant though. Now that's a fun game!

I haven't played at all this season. I was actually looking forward to this season but I'm just not feeling it anymore, might be the first battle pass I don't finish by the looks of it
I feel like the only goal I have is to get a 20 bomb.
Have gotten 18 twice (the other was in the solos mode this season) and I have gotten 13-17 kills so many times, I cant find enough enemies (I dont have friends to play with so I play solo duos).
Basically I got kinda bored since the only goal I have needs luck.
Input choice mode would bring me back, being able to choose mnk mode

It’s gaming in general, game developers and publishers are getting lazy with their content updates and not listening to what people really want.
Every game feels too similar and nothing feels unique. Almost every game has a battle/season pass in it, tons of microtransactions, and doesn’t even really try to differentiate themselves from the competition.
I just made a video talking about the gaming industry/community as a whole, so yeah.

Didnt play apex for year. This game didnt change at all.
Reasons I stopped playing APEX after 3k hours
1. Aim assist in PC lobbies

The lack of new legends and the leaked map still not releasing (if it’s only leaks it’s fine but respawn already teased it for so long but nothing yet)
Also the fact that you fight against old predators in bronze/ iron matches is crazy
i tried to play apex with some friends, at first it was all fine but when we reached to lvl 10 things go realy out of hand, we would play on the same lobbys as hardcore master/predator ranked players or lvls 450 players, so yea at least for us apex is that type of game that killing someone is a luxury and not something needed, unfortunately apex being a realy high ttk game with no SBMM realy can make someone quit the game in less than 2 hours. (at least in my opinion)
I'm not going back. Last season I had pred lobby after pred lobby in duos with my buddy and they all just knew where we are at all times. It felt unfair to play 20 matches back to back where enemies always played perfect counters to our strats and moves with no info and so we quit
A problem I'm facing in Apex Legends is the "Skill-Based Matchmaking" (SBMM). My boyfriend and I are "newbies." I used to play on the console and was level 500, so I have some game knowledge, but I'm still not used to aiming on the PC. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is truly a beginner and is learning to play. However, we had a match where I got 8 kills and he got 5, and since then, we've only been matched against predators, masters, and players who play daily.
