Halo Infinite model? interesting.
The problem is, EA wouldn't want to make people drop Apex or Battlefield and divide their player base.

You forgot to mention when Respawn edged us for 2 months then it resulted in a small patch but really advertising for an Apex hero who ate a titan battery and became magical. Arguably the biggest gut punch for me as a hardcore fan.
Fair point
Wait I have been out of the apex loop for a bit which one was that been on more of a titanfall loving spree since I got into it
@@Optimalpax Conduit, the trailer has a titan battle (involving canonical misuse of a Monarch-Class by the Militia for some reason…) where she touches a leaking titan battery and gets super powers… yea… it’s somewhat accepted the Titanfall hype campaign was leading up to her reveal, but Respawn cut the titanfall connection to avoid backlash at last minute. I personally found Conduit’s reveal not only a spit in the face but evidence that they just use Titanfall content to bait us into Apex.
Oh yeah and conduit is like the most dog shit character too
At this point I'm glad I stopped playing apex it's going in a bad direction I feel like
I think it was released in a time where gamers weren’t as committed to mastering a game, whereas nowadays if titanfall was released I reckon it would have a more standing community
Maybe so!
It was also released between COD and battlefield both times
If it released in 2006 it would be a 8 part series by now.
Guys! This is a modern day video on Titanfall, released 10ish hours ago. 10-1 = 9! Then you take that 9 and divide it by 3, you get wait for it.... 3! Titanfall 3 is coming y'all it's confirmed fr fr!
But on a serious note the story of Titanfall is the most heartbreaking story out there, but at least we have 2 in the end.

Titanfall 3 Just got binned…
@@Vincentvermetteprod Nuh uh
It was definitely odd it was multiplayer only, but the 'campaign lobbies' in titanfall were actually kind of a cool gimmick. Picking a faction and playing against people who chose the other, fighting for your story progression created extra rivalry.
I thought it was underappreciated in a way. And the dialogue was pretty solid for what it was.
I personally didn't care for it in 1 but I think it had to more to do with repeating dialogue for beginning and ending of missions and this being the only mode to really engage with. If 2 had done as a sort of continuation to the campaign, like a "Campaign +" kind of thing, I feel that it wouldve been adored.
I just played Titanfall 2 for the first time last week and WOW! Legit one of the best campaigns I have ever played. I would love to see another Titanfall happen at some point, but it just seems so unlikely. I would also fear that with how predatory monetization has become in not just F2P games, but any game, that Titanfall 3 would succumb to the same issue as Apex: more focus on cosmetics and less on the actual game.
Couldn't agree more!
Bro I loved that game, it pains me that it’s all but gone. And I don’t even play a lot of competitive multiplayer at this point but I loved that one
I can see titan with a helldivers vibe making a huge comeback lol
that would be so fire
That'd be sick, dude.
Imagine a titan and a helldiver… Oh man that would be amazing!
Dude, that would be freaking awesome
Titanfall died because of apex legends it makes no sense for EA to make another Titanfall game when they already have a successful cash cow set in the same universe
All the cope in the video when apex is the real reason 😂
Respawn and EA are actually braindead. The problem is that buy once model is not sustainable and they would jstt neeed to make a live game like apex but TF3. But they didnt evem try. Its the same thing that killed Crysis 2 multiplayer(the sequel has a much more boring multiplayer without the progression) many other solo games with pvp servers that shut down.
But it isn’t right 😭we were so loyal. Just a shame what micro and battle royal has done to gaming. So much laziness and greed. Rushing everything bc there is no love anymore and when there is, the community is small

Agreed! The fact that it still retains players to this day is a testament to its novelty.
Titanfall is the one series where we feel connected with the game. Frontier defense was and still is a great game mode. Because it makes you feel like you and 3 others just won fighting off 5 waves of enemy assaults and fighting off to defend one crucial objective.
The community is better on paper and outside of the game. Inside the game it’s riddled with and fueled by hateful, spiteful people that play only to win and not have fun. I’ve noticed an extreme disconnect between the in game community and the forums it exists for.

I think the reason people keep saying "gaming is dead" every other year is because of situations like this, where a franchise that basically raised a generation of budding gamers dies and the emotional weight of the death feels as heavy as the entire industry of gaming itself. Gaming is art, and art is infinite, but I understand the sentiment. This feels like gaming just lost a vital organ.

It was an interesting game even if some of the execution wasn't perfect. Lots of good ideas.
I loved playing brink. Timing jumps I was good at! Twitch reflexes on turning a corner, not so much.
Apex has delved so far from Titanfall that I'm so fucking ASHAMED to even have it even an ATOM related to it

Pretty shocked that this video wasnt from some huge channel. Great storytelling, hope you go far!
We plan on it!
The only thing I didn't like about titanfall was that the maps felt too small for mech battles, I hope somone makes a spiritual successor to Battlefield 2142 with awesome mech battles and large battlefield maps and titan fights. Also a sci fi war thunder would be sick.
agree and would be sick
Worried about the direction of the battlefield franchise tbh with the latest news. But with Vince being the new head of it I could totally see a sort of fusion of both series. Battlefields large combined arms maps with elements of Titanfall. The real issue being the map design allowing for that tight and fluid movement Titanfall is known for.
I actually have to disagree when it comes to most maps. Some maps are perfectly sized or slightly too large because in the end, you're going to be on your feet the majority of the time and not in a Titan. Then maps are still plenty large enough for titans to move around and battle although there are more restrictive maps that will benefit some titans like scorch a lot more.
"Acctivision" in this story is acctully simply the one and only Bobby Kotick.
That guy stinks.
Yep. That jagoff that gets bonus checks big enough to fund two entire games every year

most underrated channel on youtube hands down! Another banger!!
tyvm!
Man The worst part about the titanfall situation is nobody else has made any shooter remotely close to it in how it's movement is balanced. I just want a FPS game where proficiency with a mechanic like movement that is more important than shooting. Because the skills for FPS shooting are universal between all FPS games, and it's really fucking boring at this point. Every FPS game I've seen try to emphasize some other skillset STILL has shooting as the MOST important skill. If someone is better at clicking on a head than you are, you're going to lose, regardless of how well you've planned, or used your abilities, or budgeted, or done whatever extra mechanics they've placed on top of this one primary, nearly identical mechanic all these games place above everything else in their balance. But in titanfall if you're significantly better at movement and prediction and engagement than your opponent then the difference between your shooting skills almost doesn't matter in most fights, and I haven't found any other FPS games that have any mechanic or balancing like that, which really sucks.
3:35 one of the first movies where Parkour played a major role was the French movie Yamakasi (2001). It also has a great hip-hop soundtrack.

Titanfall 1 was the first multiplayer shooter I ever played and seeing how the Titanfall brand has turned into a shitty battle royal is the most depressing shit ever
Amazing video. Really highlights the feelings of the fans.
If there is a titan fall 3 I don’t want the annoying personality’s of the apex legends characters, and I wanna be Able to fire my titans rocket pads while I’m shooting its gun

12:28 "But something was different".
That is EXACTLY why Pacific Rim felt so good. Jagers weren't slow and clunky robots, but they weren't necessarily agile like Transformers. But I am still waiting for the day a film entirely focuses on these more... plausible closeness to a Mecha that isn't really a Jager.
Btw where did you find the artwork used at 15:50 ? It looks so cool oml
Official concept art for Titanfall 2
@@TheCouch-Co-Op thx!
Another problem with Titanfall 1 and 2 multiplayer was that there wasn't much competition. If you wanted to win, you just killed all the noobs and ignored the better players. If you called in a Titan, you went for the easy kills, and evaded the other Titans most of the time.
So basically the same thing you can do in regular pvp matches.
Mirrors edge is one of my favourite games of all time. What was really cool was when you disarmed someone you had no idea how much ammo the gun had and you may get half a clip or nothing so you were heavily incentivised to keep moving.
You also left out rocket jumping. Mirrors edge also wasn't the first to utilize certain mechanics you showed. Daggerfall actually would be the first first person rpg game to utilize wall climbing and Ninja Garden sequels for PS2 along with other games utilized wall running in the game. In fact Tenchu revolutionized a lot of the things seen in modern games also including some AI behavior.
Kind of wish we could still play Brink
Unfortunately I missed out on Brink
I consider myself a titanfall 1 and 2 vet, and although I absolutely love the mechanics, the gamemodes were the downfall of this game. They had a great concept of contrasting fast paced pilot gameplay, with slow paced titan gameplay but they failed create a decent way to mix the two by forcing them into known call of duty game modes. Titanfall needs its own flagship game mode for people to fully embrace the game, almost like how the payload game mode represents tf2/Overwatch and their identity.
But even after all that the Titanfall 2 community made north star to avoid the hackers and ddos attacks that respawn ignored
Titanfall is the shooter we need, not just another battleroyale shooter where characters with special abilities fight it out in an arena littered with loot. Cod is just the same game again and again. No movement shooters where the movement is just climbing and weird octane strafing. No we need fun shooters again, little monitization, a fun and consistent loop that doesn't drag the player through the mud just to get good enough to compete at the lowest tiers
It’s a game with love. Not a community that just always wants more
Apex Legends was leaked on Reddit quite a while before it actually released but nobody cared at all for whatever reason.
Honestly though has a single holistically excellent AAA game come out since TTF2? I don't think even Elden Ring or BG3 count as that.

who
Titanfall and BF4 were my last FPS to play online. I started to have wrists pain (my doctor kept telling me that it was not carpal tunnel), but with the deah of Titan Fall 1 and the BR and lootbox everywhere, I feel like I would have stopped playing FPS daily anyways. I already stopped playing CoD after MW3, and BO2 made changes I didn't like. I don't recognize the online FPS anymore. It's just junk.
I still play games, using a controller and keeping it to single-player only so I can play and pause to avoid the pain to come. So yeah, I still purchased TitanFall 2, but only for the single-player campaign, and it was worth it.
strange timing as i just started playing again last night

Yeah, but what if we make battle royale in Titanfall universe, only... remove titans and wall running, and make it just as as everything else? Genius , i know, right?
Why not make it a fight for two titans in the middle of the map or something, and you need to find a key to unlock them or something like that. But nah, just forget about it.
The recent Apex Alter cinematic has too many Titanfall elements in close proximity to be a coincidence. One can hope.
fingers crossed
Titans kinda play like an overwatch character, a larger than life friend with abilities and slower movement, and the short transition time between swapping those conditions keeps the loop fresh and fun
Titans more so focus around strategy and aim, versus the pilot reaction time and movement, then keeping both gameplay modes in the same match where both a titan is a real threat to a pilot, but a pilot Is severe threat to a titan. Perfectly tying both gameplay styles together.
Thank you for mentioning Brink. God I miss that game.
was this channel promoted on the main one? i think i missed it
The games began to become overrun with cheaters once pc cross play became a thing?? No way, must be a crazy coincidence

In all honesty. Titanfall could have easily been the new battlefield or planetside game.
EA could have kept Battlefield as good old Battlefield for the OG battlefield fans and used the Titanfall franchise as their BF:2042/2142 canvas, that way the whole futuristic scifi vibe of 2042/2142 wouldnt seem as completely out of place or weird as it did and players got more choice based on their personal preferences. OG BF fans got their OG BF franchise and futuristic shooter fans got their Titanfall and i'm 1000% sure OG BF fans would have been all over both games and would love the hell out of both of them. Im sure a lot of BF fans loved Titanfall but as usual, in typical EA fashion. They fumbled the bag so badly with Titanfall. It could have been so much more than what it ended up being.
Titanfall could have been one of the biggest franchises next to Battlefield.
Planetside was so much fun.
Loved Titanfall 1, Titanfall 2 made it even better; these two games killed my years-long CoD addiction. Then PUBG weaned me off traditional FPS games, and Apex Legends weaned me off the Titanfall universe completely with its cheesiness and happy-go-lucky anything-goes vibe.
Now, 8 years after all this change began, I don’t really game like I used to. No more Xbox Live, now I’m mobile and Steam. No more paid DLC and quarterly updates. Far fewer FPS games, and no online multiplayer FPS games.
But if they dropped Titanfall 3 tomorrow, I would go right back to that series in a heartbeat.
If titan fall incorporated some of Helldivers 2 multiplayer mechanics, it would take over the FPS multiplayer genre.
Since I didn't get to experience Titanfall, this reminds me more of HAWKEN.. it had mechs, lots of em
I remember Hawken!
Titanfall 2 was one of my favorite FPS games I ever played! The campaign was cool and the multiplayer was way more fun than I thought it was going to be. I never played Apex Legends. I wasn't a participant in the Battle Royale craze that was going on at the time. I just took Apex's release as a follow-up to the next Titanfall game. But when more and more expansions for Apex kept coming out, I realized there was a huge possibility that Respawn might be done with that side of the universe. It's a shame. I did enjoy that little resurgence Titanfall 2 had for a while. All those people who ONLY played Apex Legends but NEVER played Titanfall 2 were surprised how good, if not better it was.
i'm less worried about respawn abandoning it, at more worried about respawn being shut down and ea sitting on top of it until the rest of time. i think they'll find their footing, and eventually make something that can live up to titanfall 2, but it's not easy to make a masterpiece
I remember at the time of the legal drama battle of them with Activision, the media reporting leaked parts of legal documents. On them had the terms of the EA acquisition deal with Respawn. There was clauses stating the final purchasing price would be determined by the commercial performance of TitanFall 2. If it sold more EA would have to pay more for them. So EA sabotaged TitanFall 2 by sandwiching it between the biggest FPS franchise on the market. There are records of Vincent saying Respawn chose that release window, but for me this is just PR speak to save face since there would be no point of antagonizing his parent company anymore (and he obviously had plans to avoid other studios fate by integrating it as a essential part of EA at all levels, he is part of the board of directors now).
Them they did Apex as a smaller project to try to surf on the battle royale bandwagon. If it had flopped I'm sure EA would have greenlit a TitanFall 3 to take Medal of Honor and Battlefront place on their goals of having a big FPS each year or close like COD. But Apex was a major hit. The current live service model became the norm for on-line PVP games (and EA never liked doing SP content anyway) so we are stuck here. Until the market shift again and Apex starts to lose traction. Maybe them they will consider it.
Didn't think I'd hear about Brink again, I got it with my xbox360 and it was pretty fun
Tribes didn’t add the slide mechanic. It was a discovered bug.
BT's "Trust me" always brings a tear to my eye
issue is movement shooters just never last. regardless of flavour they get abandoned by publishers but there is a die hard community who play them. it's just tiny and not enough to keep the game afloat
Ah yes the 1,000th video on Titanfall discussing the exact same thing with the exact same talking points
Yeah this guy spent literally 60% of the video talking about something completely different, everything could have been cut down by a lit and he didn't really say nuch at all
Honestly the finals is pretty close minus wall running and the titans in regards to gameplay
So sorry this might sound rude but when you said something about leaving someone on read you were using the present tense which you were saying “reed” but it’s “red”
It's important to mention that TF|2's release date was Respawn's choice, not EA's. Everything that has killed this game has always been Respawn's fault. From the active choice to release it at the worse time possible, to trading it for a new golden goose, to the radio silence after the DDOSing, and finally attempting various games in the Titanfall Universe and eventually canning all of them... It's always been Respawn's fault.
I'm sad to see we'll never get a Titanfall 3, many are as all would know.
Edit: By the way there is a Titanfall VR coming, it's called Wavefront. Check it out!
Now that is intriguing...
If titanfall 3 ever rolls around I hope they give the titans more weight and power in their movement. TF2 rocks but the mechs feel light and floaty both observing and piloting them
Fair point.
Oh how I miss this game. I got my R9290X just for this game.
They questions is still unanswered
I remember the day Titanfall dropped and getting it on Xbox One those were soem good days.
Great video. I'm still a daily TF2 player and man, it hurts where it's at. Player counts were still decently high and games plentiful until the attacks. 2 years of not being able to play the game was pretty shitty, so I feel like I had to settle for Apex. Played since S2 and got bored around S16. The BR format just felt monotonous in a way.
I liked it, but it just wasn't Titanfall. Being hit with no fixes and pretty much silence just made the player base feel betrayed and then mostly everyone just moved on. The creation of the Northstar client was awesome and great to see such community drive to keep playing something we were all passionate about.
Player counts seem to be creeping back a little, but it will never be the same again.
Protocol 3.
Id like to see TF as a live action film or series.
would be fun
Apex wasn't really released without marketing, there was a whole debacle with streamers doing the marketing basically, without disclosures
At this point i dont even want a titan fall 3, since ea and apex have shown what ea will do with with the multiplayer, and ow2, and pay day 2 has made me even more fearful of it.
I always HATED the wall running feature of Titanfall. Even stupider is not starting in a titan by default.
I only played Titanfall 2 in 2021 and BY FAR it's the best game (mechanically and story-wise) I've played ever.
One of the best to ever do it.
I remember 2021 to 2022, titanfall 2 on xbox was actually unplayable and literally not a single online match was played. Thank god for private matches, which single handedly kept the game alive and the only places hackers could rarely touch
It’s playable on PlayStation 5 now
