DREAM fishing 🤩 Makes my heart ache to be back on the Trent fishing stick - and that will now be something to think about in 2025, even if I now live in Surrey. Thanks for sharing and happy Christmas 🎄
Some stunning roach there keV not to mention a surprise slab ,really enjoyed this series of films takes you there when your own time is limited.merry Christmas mate .🎣🐟
Very nice fishing Kev. Very positive rig running at them, some of the elaborate patterns of the 80’s seem lost to today’s anglers imho. Wishing you a merry Christmas and thanks for the uploads 👍
Yes, parking on the road behind but can often be full, parking is free evenings and weekends on the embankment and walk across the bridge. Thank you for watching and let us know how you get on please, best wishes and happy christmas.
Hi Ian, further downstream than Wilford, more West Bridgford. You can park on the road at Welbeck Hall if there is space but also park on the embankment which is free at weekends and evening and then walk over the bridge. Best wishes and Merry Christmas to you.
Ref 2lb roach of years gone by. My take is there are a lot of coal fired power stations upstream that have now closed or transfered to gas. I recall the water being luke warm even in winter. Who knows what effect that had on both the fish and whatever they fed on. From fishing the Trent myself and watching vids like yours I think 4oz is the norm now. I don't understand why no chub or even barbel have run up your feedline either? Surely there are 1lb chub sitting riding on the bow wave made by the bridge buttress? Here's hoping for the dog roach to return but in the meantime a good net of 4oz will do me👍 nice vid - thanks
Hi Matty, The missing power stations warm water has deffinately made a difference but I am not sure the Cormorants haven't eaten the slower larger fish like big Roach and Chub. There are multiple Cormorants in the trees oposite the embankment on the Wilford side. I counted 6 last week working together near the Forest Ground which is a concern. Thank you for watching and leaving excellent comments on the channel. Best wishes and happy Christmas.
Hi David, agree you would catch more with a pole or whip especially in the summer months but trotting may find the elusive 2lb+ which I don't think would come that close, unless it was a total red letter day. Although this was an excellent session most were caught lower down in the swim. Perhaps there was a pike closer than the Roach. I have plans to pole/whip in this area though. Massive thank you for watching, best wishes and happy christmas.
Great video and great fishing. I used to fish there, just below the suspension bridge in the 80s, and it looks like it's as good now as it was then....brilliant!. Where can you park down there now at the weekend? TIA 👍👍

Hi Sam, great to hear you are interested in starting. It is harder in the winter, the river needs to be lower and weather needs to be mild to stand the best chance of catching but give it a go, on the right day you can catch. Watch as many clips as possible and go with someone who has been before would be my advice. Best wishes
Cant beat a day's roach fishing,
Agree Stephen, thanks for watching, merry christmas

That swim is crying out for 6m whip with hemp and tares.

Hey man looking to get into fishing I’m in Nottingham know nothing about the sport can I fish this time of year and is so and can I catch

How deep you fishing
Approx 9" is usually right in the that area but I adjust through the session depending on speed of bites or position of hook in the mouth.
2024 was rubbish fishing wise rain and wind almost every day
Lets hope for a better 2025!
