I know this is a cycling channel, but Harry be cookin' some bomb ass meals
I only watch his channel for the cooking
having a mate at a training camp who can cook that well must be amazing indeed
Luv how Jessie got triggered over the lamb 🤣🤣 who’d have thought that pro bike riders eat meat 🙄
@damodamo7219 well it's pointless...saturated fats in meat are detrimental to the heart.
If he swapped out the meat for tofu he would get the protein without the fats.
Lamb chicken are around 20-35%fat the tofu I eat is under 8% it's a no brainer.
and that is why the best pro's in the world aren't vegan@@michaelhoile1369
lol that hood camera made the Twingo sound like some AMG monster
Jessie - Fabulous readout - well done. And thank you to Harry for providing the visibility.
Super insightful as always, thank you Jesse. I’ve learned a ton from your Chanel. Your content really doesn’t get the credit it deserves.
Great video ! Thanks Jesse for the content and the analysis !
Great video, learned quite a lot! TY!
Pretty decent video mate, good analysis. I like your facial reactions as well haha, good shit :')
Based on his TH-cam channel... Harry can cook really well!
Great one! @jesse coyle. First thing, besides blood test, is loading up the iron pills properly at least 3 weeks before. Iron assimilation is difficult to nail.
Another good analysis video Jesse 😊
I really love these video’s!!
Sugar water FTW.
Harry is a natty athlete as well. If he ate right and got on an oxygen vector protocol he would be up there for sure.
Love the video and insight . Nitpicky but I'd switch to a rectangular facecam w/a thin border over the circular w/o border. Reminds me of the sun from teletubbies lol
My guess is that a lot of riders unconsciously brings less than what they need if they don't use an app/program or whatever. Same when they are riding, they might feel pretty good without carbs/water for quite a while until they suddenly feel empty. Just assuming here, since I never drink enough myself, no matter how much effort I'm doing. More or less what you are saying in the middle.
Seems like a pretty good app if it's simple to use and you can scan barcodes and stuff.
Conoci este canal hace 2 horas, ahora me estoy viendo todos sus videos
If you watch the majority of YT cyclists then they definitely need eat my rides app. Pretty much of all the ones I watch seem to think a 160km ride on a banana and 1 bottle of water is plenty!
Hi Jesse. Would love to hear your insights on how the Ingebrigtsen family from Norway train. Quite interesting with lactate measurements and two a day training.
Better look for opinion of professional. Jesse is an amateur with little knowledge. Closed with his friend in Australian bubble. Those dudes did not even know how to take creatine.
TRT..
Will try to get my thoughts in a video on this "Norwegian Method" soon...
@@nerocoaching Legend. I find the two a day training quite interesting for people who commute to and from work a decent distance, mine is 55km each way. Not every single day of the week though.
Very good video to gain information, cheers.
These guys know how to cook.
When I saw this a few months ago I checked out the app and it’s really good
Given this requirement for carbs post ride, gosh why wouldn’t a heavy Belgian beer be appropriate? I get some cyclists are very cautious about toxins but when I see the Kj in just one heavier Trappist ales I can’t imagine a faster way to carb back up and maybe take the edge off!? Logical or horrible idea?
He does some great content
Hey Jesse, have you read the trigger point post on the Pain Science blog? Might provide you with some interesting evidence-based take-aways! 😄
Ever since I was a teenager playing soccer I always thought stretching was silly. Interesting to me we never did any stretching before or after basketball practice, only soccer and baseball.
Great video. Learned a lot.
But I do disagree with discouraging activation exercises. For many athletes these may not be necessary, but for others they may be crucial. From personal experience I can say injury can occur over time if exerting yourself without the right muscles firing. For many, glutes and core need constant work & activation.
It doesn’t hurt anyone to do these, but it could hurt not to.
Do you think him judging from the garmin calculations of cals burned it’s accurate? How do you calculate it?
"Constantly eat while racing"
I dont know what racing hes doing, but when Im racing, Im breathing out my arse... eating is almost impossible. "Just eat"? Dude, if I could avoid suffocating while doing so, Id do it!
What if I did three days of intensive rides and after a week passed I still cannot recover. I mean like there's nothing that hurts but my energy level feels so low 🥱
Is there any quick advice?
Imagine you could get a constant glucose IV drip during training that gives you 200g of glucose per hour or even more lol. Wouldnt that be a crazy advantage in training because you could train much harder and recover better? Because the way I understand it, the limiting factor with carbohydrate is the gut and if you get it straight into your blood there wouldnt really be an upper limit?
That'd be pretty interesting. Probably best done in the lab/hometrainer for safety with the IV, but certainly could be something the top top guys are doing to build up that insane sweetspot/FTP repeatability in the Grand Tours.
Yeah I mean how would you test anyone for that anyway… Now I have a picture in my head of jonas sitting on the trainer with a bag of glucose solution written „Jumbo Juice“ on it dripping into his arm lol. IF it really worked and there would be a significant benefit they would be stupid not to do it, eh? But I guess there would also be a ceiling on the amount of sugar you could do IV and have a real benefit from it because plasma glucose is only part of the equation, there is lots of muscle glycogen that is also being utilised.
@@lorenzfrass9499 Yeah… need to get it transported to the muscle and uptaken. In that respect, IV might not be too different in time to absorption from ingesting high GI low density foods like drinks, gels and chews. It would be pretty cool, though, if they had found a way to increase muscle glycogen uptake then. Wouldn’t we all like to have an extra cheese cake in the depot 😉
@@lorenzfrass9499 “Jumbo Juice” 😂 They should buy a drinks company and rebrand it to that. Get the naming rights and domain named quickly, so you can sell ‘em off
@@user-qx4bp5rf3n The limiting factor for carb ingestion are glucose (SGLT) and fructose (GLUT5) transporters in small intestine not the absorption to muscles if I have understood correctly. The small intestine transporters are also the reason for 0.8:1 fructose to glucose ratio since this does not overwhelm either transporter and leave non-absorbed sugars to be fermented by gut bacteria.
274 norm. Gods. i can only dream!
The crazier thing is that’s not even very intense for him!
@@discbrakefan I'm cooked just thinking about it! LOL
@@discbrakefan Upper level Zone 2. I had to re-listen to make sure I hadn't misheard 🤣
You said 'placebo' on the hip flexor stretches. Do you mean that stretch dont actually stretch the muscle? Ive heard that before, not sure what to think about that yet.
Not placebo to that stretch in particular, but to the "activations" or low load strength movements are borderline placebo because they won't directly result in any measurable strength increase or performance increase on the bike. But they can work indirectly by making a rider feel stronger or more comfortable, then thus give a benefit.
I've seen riders first hand gain back 1-2 hours of ride training time per week by ditching these insanely long pre-ride activation/stretching routines.
@@nerocoaching Science based facts here!
Def need to hydrate more at higher altitude
1 liter of water an hour? No wonder I have difficulties on 3+ hour rides when the temperature is over 90 degrees F. I've been drinking only 750 ml of water. Gotta use my 1 liter bottles.
Audio volume is too low.
I do well with whey protein, coconut oil and maple syrup if i just need macros. Those are too easy to get to much
Jessie, you just invented a product. Camelback that's half water through one tube and half glyco IV through the another tube. Boom
So optimal ferritin levels should be > 100 mg/dL?
Yup
up to 100 studies see a improvement. 100-200 is the target to have some storage for harder weeks
That's what I aim for, at least at the start of a training block, when fresh, because levels will drop as a result of high training loads. So need some breathing room
300+ is what all the big name pros aim for.
60 HCT and dilute it down for testing.
Run something all year so your BP numbers dont trigger anything. That is why the young riders are doing so well because they hit the BP from day 1 with afterburners already lit!
@@durianriders Thank you for this Inside! Any more Info about important blood parameters different from normal people? Iron/Ferritin was holding me back the last half year...
Superb. That app is definitely overkill. Once you learn your grams/hr strategy, it certainly doesn't require an app to tell you. As you said, probably useful for an amateur learning to fuel appropriately. Modern day overapplicfication ;)
I use the app and it’s really good
Eats lamb curry... puts down the lamb curry.
Regarding the eatmyride app, isn't it as simple as calculating the required energy to ride at X watts average on a certain route? That energy will need to be replenished with food. If that energy comes from fat or carbs, does that matter? Storing carbs as fat is less efficient so you'd need more but yeah. I also don't get why FTP is relevant. Since you already have the energy that the ride 'costs' in watts. Is that purely for the fat/carb ratio?
Thank you Jesse for all your comments and insights, the "Like" is just not enough
I was like “Blood tests! It’s blood tests!”
Keep it simple. Ride lots = Eat lots
That chicken is dry AF
Gotta love it . The TH-camr telling the pros how to go about it 🤣🤣
What level pro is one vs the other? Also it's common for coaches / directors to not be on the same level of the athletes they train. What is the difference in thier levels? Surely this guy doesn't just do TH-cam right that would make your statement correct. And some wise ppl say don't automatically ignore any advice no matter where it comes from it doesn't usually hurt to listen or think about it, it's much easier to think rather than work longer or harder.
Just like Jonas's coaches are out winning the tour de fance🤦♂️ Gotta love the ignorance.😂
@@OUTDOORS55 well level and experience does have value but it's not everything. A person doesn't need to be the best at something to critique and offer advice that could be useful. There always something to learn if improving is the goal
I guess none of the pros should have coaches right? They already know everything about physiology, nutrition and training science…
Sit down clown.
Just because a guy is a pro doesn’t mean he is knowledgeable about training as a qualified coach, regardless of the coaches ability.
Love the video but you must do something about the volume....when the adds come on the volume jumps like crazy 🤬👍😎
