I use them a lot and have had a lot of luck buying them second hand off craigslist and facebook for pennies on the dollar. Just got to put in some elbow grease to clean and sanitize the heck out of used enclosures.
I'm definitely falling back in love with them. hahaha. I've picked up several and am in the process of rehousing my arboreals into them. They just look so dang nice. I'll have to check Craigslist! Thanks!
Last few years I raised 3 slings, all turned out to be males. Turned into a greyish fluffy T haha. Raising my 4th now, let's hope for a female! Great vid Tom!
Oh, man...that's terrible luck! Sounds like me with the P. crassipes. So far, three slings...three males! haha. Fingers crossed that your next one is a lady. :) Thanks, bud!

I enjoy your videos Tom. My dad and I just recently got into the hobby and we're learning a lot. We frequently visit the Fear Not Tarantulas store and we catch some of your videos on the TV during our visit. Currently have an A. Seemanni (my first T) and a C. Cyaneopubescens sling (I've named Genie), and although I'm not experienced enough for the P. Irminia at the moment, I hope to one day add one to my collection. Keep those videos coming because they're very informative.
Hello, Christopher...welcome to the hobby! And that's awesome! I know that Tanya at Fear Not said that she often puts my videos on in the store; that's so cool. And you started with some awesome species there. It won't be long before you're ready for the P. irminia. Thanks again...and sorry for the late reply !
I already have 2 slings of this species and recently purchased a STUNNING adult female ( ( named her Lillith ) and rehoused her with little incident even though she got out of the catch cup I used. I kept calm and just directed her gently to the open door of the new enclosure and she went right in. WHEW !! I must really be getting the hang of this !! I LOVE THIS SPECIES !!!!!!
I just wanna thank you again for your rehousing videos. I just rehoused my mature male P irminina using that cardboard airlock contraption you used here and the rehouse went smoothly. Bringing my boy on a sexy vacation tomorrow!
Ed Gufler I wanna start specializing in certain ones like psalmopoeus and avicularia. Have 2 cambredgei, 2 irminia, 1 pulcher, getting 4 more pulcher. There's alot more to obtain lol
Good day Tom, as a fellow metal head and tarantula enthusiast getting back into the hobby after many years, your work has been a great help with species I had not raised before. It has also helped with catching up with what's been happening in the hobby overall since I kept 10 years ago. My female Irminia was the last tarantula that I cared for, it was brutal to let her go. Now, a decade later, let the collection begin.
Ah, how cool is that idea of taping the cardboard to the catch cup! Gonna keep that one for myself! Lovely tarantula (my two both moulted recently after nearly a month webbed up) and as always such a wealth of information. Thanks Tom!
Hey, bud! Man, that cardboard has made things SO much easier and had prevented many issues. I'm all about preventing any escapes. I don't want Billie to kill me. haha Congrats on the recent molts! They really are stunning. Thank YOU for commenting! :)
I agree this was my first species of T and it was a rough learning curve, more than a couple close calls. Never fully got out of the hobby ( have kept my brachypelma albopilosum and cyripopagopus schioedti while moving and going to school). But now that I am in my own house your channel and a couple other great channels have caused me to jump back in with both feet so thank you!
Man, I can't even imagine. That's jumping in the deep end for sure. :) So glad that I was able to help inspire you to get back into th hobby...that's awesome! Of course, I should apologize, as it can sure get expensive buying spiders. hahah
Loved this video especially the transport method for rehousing. I'll definitely copy this for next time! This was my first species. It was a steep learning curve but fortunately I got HER as a sling which gave me time to learn. She's beautiful and I love the green/blue iridescent colours under her legs. BUT She can move like lightning and can be super grumpy. I believe if a responsible adult does research and picks up some nifty tips like in this video, then sure its doable, even if you're a bit of a novice. And if you are a beginner then get a sling - give yourself time to learn.....also beware of handling, no urticating hairs means nasty venom, which also means you can get bit with only one prior warning!! Dont go thinking she's throwing you a peace sign or a high five......
Against my bf advice I got my irminia. Just rehoused my 2 incher in a cheese ball container with wood and foliage. Made lots of ventilation holes around the top with a fork heated on the stove. I'm a DIY kinda girl. I just love her(?) so much. She actually went into the new enclosure really easy and decided to burrow a little bit and web started already.
It's funny as I was telling my wife that if you take away the venom potency of pokies, I would recommend a pokie to get ready for one of these. :) What size are you getting?
Tom Moran yeah I was just huhing over you saying that in the video. I'll get a sling, been loving watching my only sling, an OBT, grow. Plan on buying myself a P. rufilata or ornata in June for my birthday so I won't have a huge amount of time to get used to the irmania but hey the girl is ok with it so who am I to argue with her?
Thanks for this video, it was filled with good information! We just got a sling (P. Irminia) and are struggling a bit to find a better enclosure than the one it came with, and watching this answered a lot of the questions I had! Keep up the good work :)
Definitely not a beginner species. I have also seen some pretty gnarly bite reports associated with these beauties. No urticating hairs with this genus though. I think they are the most visually appealing tarantula out there. Just to bad they are so shy.
Eddie! Thanks so much for chiming in, bud. Yeah, they are absolutely gorgeous. It just sound like you either get a spawn from hell or a spider you never see with them!
That was amazing. It looks like she was trained to jump up into the cup. You are incredibly lucky or just incredibly good at T handling and husbandry. Moving is always chancy. But you make it look easy.
Hahaha. Loved when you grabbed the P reduncus. That was classy and so glad you didn’t cut it out I put together a nano tall bioactive for the A Avicularia. Going to be a while before I revoke into it. Wanted to get it up and plants and springtails going in it. I did get the replacement top as well but a bit worried about the cross ventilation without the mesh.
Ha! I forgot about that! Almost grabbed the wrong spider. Yeah, with that species, I would be REALLY careful that it doesn't get too stuffy. You'll want to drill a lot of holes in the top to make sure that you get that proper airflow. Good luck!
What a beauty!! Been raising one for my brother since it was an itty bitty till he can house it, surprisingly slow growing an stubborn but sweet as pie, love how the colors start so early
Great video, thank you. About to rehouse my P. irminia into one of these Exo Terras and will definitely be modding the lid, and that catch cup is genius!
@@TomsBigSpiders For sure, the rehousing was so simple and nowhere near as stressful! Phew. I'm actually about to pick up an O. Violaceopes, reckon this would work well for one of those too? I know that they're arboreal but not to the same extent as some others so I'm unsure if it would have the same reaction to bolt up into the cup. I guess there's one way to find out lol
Beautiful spider! I just got one today. It’s my first really hot spider. I’ve had around 30 new world spiders that I’ve been raising for about a year and a half. I hope I’m ready for her. But, your video helps give me confidence having the knowledge I need. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with the masses. You’re appreciated more than you know. 😊👍🏻
Tom Moran I sure hope she watches your videos too! lol! Would make it a whole lot easier. ‘Look, all you gotta do is go into your new enclosure like Tom showed you. It’s really not that hard. Just do it.’ 😜
Great video as always. I also haven't seen those 1 gallon containers at Walmart lately. Great transfer tips out if it I will need to do when I re-house my daughter's A. Avicularia. What a beautiful specimen your suntiger is.
Ok so every time I start thinking about what spider or what enclosure idea, there's Tom with the answers. Years ago when I was REALLY into the hobby info on youtube was scarce. By info I mean nice clear footage showing what's up. Thanks dude from a returning hobbyist who can't be bothered to go through tons of crap, thank you.
I love your videos.... I like how this video is "2018" but the calendar says "2017" lol I haven't got my first tarantula yet but one day, with all my knowledge from TH-camrs I should do very well. Thank you Tom and Billie for all the work you do for us subscribers. I would like one day to have eggs with legs that is so cool.
I tend to do a bit of time travelling on my free time, so I always get my dates messed up. ;) Definitely let me know when you get your first...thank you!
Hi, Lawrence! I don't want to jinx myself, but I've actually had VERY good luck over the years. I just try to relax and have everything I need I hand just in case. Hope for the best, plan for the worst! :)
Excellent excellent video on safe rehousing for this beauty! I just picked up my first sling ( I’m an experienced T keeper) and I’m looking forward to seeing her (hopefully a female) colors coming out! Again, excellent video!
Nice video Tom . I have two small P. irminia and had to redo a housing on one of them. They are only 1 1/2" but I respect them and use precautions when I transfer them.
Cool informative video! I recently got a nano tall exo terra for my feather leg baboon as you can see on my channel. I removed the foam backing as well. BTW you can get more of those plastic containers from uline! I ordered a few recently! Great video again!
Thanks for this video! I'm getting a P. Irminia and a C. Darlingi as a couple more advanced species to get experience with and seeing your transfer methods makes me a lot less anxious.
Just bought one of these today, about 3cm at the moment... I don't like the tub she was in at the pet shop as it was a terrestrial set up so i am going to get her into a new house. Love the cup and cardboard idea... I think I may have to make one of these... I have a few baboons ready for rehousing. NIce vid, subscribed.
Cannibal Corpse! \m/ Great video, as always. I'm really liking these husbandry/care videos you've been doing. They're just full of useful information that I think a lot of other people seem to just kind of gloss over when talking about how they care for a specific species.
Hey, bud! Hahahaha. I used to illustrate horror books, so I'm particularly fond of Cannibal Corpse's nasty album covers and merch. haha Thanks so much! I try to cover everything I can think of so that folks can have confidence with the info.
great video Tom, as always very informative and nifty wee tips. i will be getting my P.Irminia sling next week as it`ll be my first Arboreal .. Awesome Hoodie you have by the way 🤘😎🤘
Thank you so much for this video! Im new to the hobby. I only have a tiny B. Albo sling and i really want a P. Irminia to be my first arboreal. This transfer technique is incredible , the safest iv seen so far.
Thanks so much, Jess! Yeah, I try to completely minimize any opportunity for escape. We don't need a spider on the loose with my dogs and kids. hahaha :)
Getting one of these tomorrow, they truly are a beautiful species. One of my favorites for a long time now, Loved the video man. Very underrated channel if i do say so myself.
@@TomsBigSpidersShe did thank you! And shes bloody gorgeous, definitely met my expectations! Truly one of a kind these guys, even the colours at sling are beautiful. 👌 cant wait until she matures! And shes my first arboryal species so it's an exciting experience for me also ❤
@@TomsBigSpiders Fairly fast growing I've heard! I recall you saying that in your video also 😅 thanks again though man honestly and keep up the great content you really are underrated man I've been in this hobby for a few years now and its people like you that educate us and help us along the way and for that I am thankful 👍 you deserve more attention than you are currently getting and that's a fact.
I've been looking in to these enclosures recently for future reference. I just got a P. cambridgei from Tanya at Fear Not Tarantulas and I was looking in to these for when it matures. Also I wanted to touch on what you pointed out about the foam background. When I got my A. urticans (my first T) I had no knowledge of what size enclosure to keep it in. I put it in a bigger Exo Terra than the nano tall. I ran in to the issue of her going behind the backgrounds as well. Thanks for posting Tom. I always enjoy learning from your videos
Having kept some terrestrials and other inverts, I’m looking to get one of these as a transitional species to OWs. Looks fast and skittish, but not quite as punishing if I make a mistake. And the orange on black is just amazing! As always, love how in-depth your video is!
Wonderful vid as always. I will absolutely attest to that irminia/pokies sentiment! Mine was a handful while I had her, the only T that actually beat my eye and "teleported". Super ornery, readily threw up threat posture. The pokies just scurry away, typically lol the comparisons to h.mac seem more accurate 😅
Yes! Billie and I were talking about the fact that if you took away the potent venom, Pokies would generally be the spiders you'd use to get ready for Psalmos and Tappis. haha
I found that use an icepick under the rubber rim they glue over the screen, pulls it all out if you work it around the edge. I found I don't like to use silicone to put the new plastic in though. 3M commercial grade double sided sticky tape on the side of the plexiglass that doesn't face inside the terrarium, then hot glue over the small void on the inside rim. Glue the cable guides at the back closed. The trimming idea you had was great for the back piece, changed my mind and now I am using them too. Just picked up one of these spiders (my #6 in the budding collection) after watching this video, about 1.5 inches. So far the mod for the Exo seems to work on all the sizes from 18x18x18 down. Using Lexan .093in thick for the 12inches or smaller units fills the gap perfect. 1/4inch thick for the 18 inch units. Bought my Lexan at Lowes, but I see you can get it for half that cost off Amazon. Thanks again for all the ideas!
I'll have to try that, Gery. I've had better luck lately getting the gaskets out; it all depends on their quality control. Sometimes, they have very little of the glue, which makes it easier. Great stuff...thanks again for chiming in!
Hi Tom, I tape the backgrounds on the back outside of the enclosures with clear packing tape it gives it a 3 D effect. great video, thanks for sharings
I wanted to get one, but I am a beginner and i suppose if you wonder if you are ready or not the answer is you're not the breeder also have an extensive list of warning's. So this is one for the future. Your videos you and your wife make is greatly appreciated I have learned a lot thank you. Sorry for the long message no reply needed
Sorry for the delay, Werner! Honestly, the only time you should experience issues is during rehousings. And, with this species, you might even be able to go from a sling enclosure to an adult enclosure. And, there are always precautions you can take to avoid the potential for escape. Thanks so much!!!
Great video Tom as always, one of my top 10 species, I bred my girl last year and can vouch for their temperament especially when I had to take her babies off her!
Absolutely stunning T! I have a sling I got in March from Tanya and absolutely love it❤️ it has molted once already and is showing those beautiful stripes on its bum❤️ So far no threat poses but is lightening fast! My A. Brockelhursti shows more threat poses than any other T in my collection! Lol
Hi Tom! Thank you for being a pillar in this community! And thank you to Billie for letting Tom go as far as he has! I'd like to breed more species. Not for financial gain but to take pressure off the the wild caught, endangered and brown box market. In your experience, what species could use the most help? Thank you!
Wow, thanks, James! Oh, man...there are just so many that we need more of. Acanthoscurria geniculata used to be everywhere, but we can't import them anymore. I would LOVE to see more bred. Any Phormictopus species would also be nice. Man...I don't know where to begin! haha
@@TomsBigSpiders wow! Thank you so much for the reply! I'll be looking for some of those! If you hear of any others that you would like to get the word out about, sneak them into a video or your podcast and I'll see/ hear it! Thanks again!
Thanks Tom for the explanation of the dog dust because if you didn't I definitely would had assumed they were ghost orbs like spiders I'm also into the paranormal had my share of encounters well that's enough let's get into this excellent informative video
Just ordered my first P. irmania -- a 2 inch female. My only other Ts are a G. pulchra and a C. elegans. It looks like I'm in for a ride with this one...
My first 2 enclosures were Exo Terra ones and had some bad experiences with them. As you said tom my Avic Avic was dangling on one leg from the top of one of those enclosures and luckily i could still save him. My other enclosure housed my A. Seemanni and he as well was dangling from atop the wire mesh. Since then i only buy custom build glass enclosures but replacing the wire mesh with plexiglass is a nice option to atleast fix those exo terra enclosures of mine that are now just gathering dust in my closet.
I'm so glad that people are coming forward with their examples about the screen tops. Every time I mention this, a bunch of folks say that I'm being an alarmist about the. I'm sorry to hear about your issues with them, but I'm glad that your spiders are okay. Those glass enclosures must be gorgeous. Thanks for chiming in!!!
Thanks for the reply Tom. my glass enclosures do look pretty good and they are made with a thicker kind of glass. Not the 4mm glass you see a lot around here. Unfortunately they dont have crossventilation which leaves the substrate kind of moist. Is this a bad thing? Since I get a lot of mixed answers about it ranging from it kills the spider in the long run or it is harmless.
Tom....Im a snake guy. The last 4 months Ive been watching all your videos,Richards,Deadly T girl. I will eventually buy a T. I,like you, love the orange mixed with the black. This Venezuelan Suntiger is just unreal. Well Im a huge Philadelphia Flyers fan too,a crazed hockey nut. If these guys hide like this, how do you feed them? How do you know they ate? Also,I am in the food business,Ive seen several spideys on YT using plastic squirt bottles to fill water bowls. Not a good idea.....unless the plastic is PBA free or the bottle goes in the frig. If that spray bottle is full of water for any length of time and the temp goes over 65 degrees, the toxins in the plastic come out. Matter of fact, this is for everyone, bottled water can be deadly if at ANY time if is left in a truck,in the trucks outer bed,in a garage,or even in an entrance to a drug store without air conditioning. Do your due diligence on this all.....if you are feeling achiness in all your joints like flu but wont go away, nauseau, headaches, you could have PBA poisoning. The symptoms mimic lyme disease. If not identified in time, your organs, liver and kidneys shut down. The effects on a T,well, thats obvious. Tom,Im not saying you,but others are using spray bottled, thought Id use my food knowledge to point it out.
when I found this video I just got my 3/4 of a inch now is a big 3 1/2 inch confirm female, there are so interesting my like to go out on the morning and chill in the cork for some time and there are pretty active favorite species for sure.
hi tom moran :) greetings from the Philippines I always wait your new upload Video :) knowing about more in keeping... im just 7months keeper... both of you Mark's tarantula also i wait his video..
I haven't tried this size Exo-Terras since I don't own any medium sized arboreals, but I do use the "Mini-Tall" for my P. Ornata and it is a great. The 12x12x18 size of that one is a great size for the large arboreals and looks fantastic on the shelf. They are pretty pricey though at about $75 on Amazon.
I love my P. Irminia. I have a fiesty girl. She knows when it is feeding time and usually comes to the opening as soon as she feels me opening her enclosure. I am going to look into this enclosure for her. The reason why is that P. Irminia do not need cross ventilation and I know keepers that keep them with zero ventilation their whole lives. As long as you are feeding and misting at least once a week. They have more than enough air to stay alive for weeks. This ensures good humidity in the enclosure and their molts will always be pristine every time. Also I don't use a water dish as most of the hydration she gets comes from her prey and when I mist weekly I can catch her drinking the drops off the glass occasionally. As far as the irminia goes I prefer them over standard avics.
When you talk about cross ventilation, it's not about them getting air; it's about getting fresh air. They don't need that much air for respiration, but they DO need fresh air. Dank, fetid enclosures can kill spiders just as quickly as dry ones. As for water dishes, that's certainly your choice. I've caught mine drinking many times (just got a photo of her the other day drinking). Personally, that tells me that she wants more water than what she's getting from prey or misting. Again, I don't argue the point, but for me, I want them to have access to water at all times. Plus, I can't tell you how many TH-cam videos I've seen with keepers finding their spiders dead of "mystery" ailments, and it's obviously a dehydrated spider that didn't have access to water. I, too, prefer Psalmopoeus to avics (I hope no one sees this! haha). Thanks!
i have 4 of them and the first one i got is a really laid back and calm one but the other 3 are a nightmare! they try to escape all the time. just last saturday one bolted out and jumped off the table. since she/he is still rather tiny nothing happened to her bc of the fall. all i did was to open her enclosure just a littoe bit to drop in a cricket. 🙈😅 but it was rather interesting to witness the jump. she spread her legs like a parachute so i guess thats why they have so many hairs shaped like feathers. nature is awesome!
Tom, good stuff I agree with just about all your stuff. Spider are totally different. I got one for you. I went into a shop and found a sling wounded w/o a pop and front leg. 7 leg still looking good. Sun tiger by the way. Other tiger I got grow well. This little dude is alive and still small after months. 17 month to be /. am I missing something or are they just another casino roll?
Thanks, Thomas! Is it possible that the bad care it received in the shop led to slower growth rate? Or, it could just be the luck of the draw. I've had some slow growers before. :)
Man!! I'm totally new to this and I just ordered my first sling. My brachypelma hamorri hasn't even gotten here yet and thanks to you, I'm already thinking about getting one of these next! For some reason, I'm just drawn to the Sun Tiger. I understand this one isn't beginner friendly, buy hey. One question though, how fast do they grow and at what age can you determine gender? I want a young one, but I'm only interested in a female.
That's awesome! Congrats on your hamorii! These guys are absolutely stunning, but they tend to either hide all the time or are very defensive. They grow relatively quickly, and you could sex one out via a molt around 2" or so if using magnification. Thanks!
Mine was in a cork bark tube in her original enclosure. I stuffed tissue in the top of it and then just moved the tube into the new enclosure. Was a bit anxious, but figured she would try to stay hidden.
Did this to my lids January 2017 after a thread on Arachnoboards. Did a video but I just silconed perspex over the mesh. Only took a few minutes for each. Won't post my video as it's cheeky.
I get the whole cross ventilation thing and I'm with you on that. Just a suggestion, have you considered drilling holes in the glass? I've drilled holes in glass with a Dremel tool. Your not actually drilling, more like cutting or grinding holes. Just use patience and it works very well.

Fantastic video! I love these T's. Super informative, as usual. Thx Tom
Thank you, John!
Thanks so much! This method has worked very well for me. And, yes...starting with slings can give you the opportunity to learn as the spider grows!
Hi, Lori! Congrats on your P. irminia...they are awesome spiders! Sounds like a great setup!
Totally like the idea of replacing the wire with plastic, I'm doing that to all mine this week.
I was just doing that earlier today! :)
Getting one of these next month. Wanted one for a long time and figured it'd help me get ready for the pokies I want
Love the ingenious method/tape n cardboard technique for the speedyz. Great video. Thanks.
Thank you, Bill! That has saved me a LOT of trouble. :)
Thanks for this video, it was filled with good information! We just got a sling (P. Irminia) and are struggling a bit to find a better enclosure than the one it came with, and watching this answered a lot of the questions I had! Keep up the good work :)
Congrats on your P. irminia sling! I'm so glad that you found this helpful. :) Thank you!
Thanks, Joyce! Billie and I were laughing because it turned out to be so easy. Haha
Love the cardboard around the catch cup, definitely trying that for my next irminia transfer!
Hello, Kess! I'm so glad that tip was helpful!
Hahaha. Loved when you grabbed the P reduncus. That was classy and so glad you didn’t cut it out
I put together a nano tall bioactive for the A Avicularia.
Sounds like you have a total cutie! :) Yeah, the colors showing up early is a HUGE plus...especially as they are so pretty! Thanks, bud!
Great video, thank you. About to rehouse my P. irminia into one of these Exo Terras and will definitely be modding the lid, and that catch cup is genius!
You're very welcome. I'm so glad that this was helpful!
Thank you so much! If you're careful during rehousings, you should be just fine. :)
Thanks so much, Meg! Someone commented that you can by them through U-line. I'm really disappointed that Walmart doesn't seem to carry them anymore.
Hello! Welcome back to the hobby...that's fantastic! There seem to be a lot of folks coming back now, and it's a great time for it. Thanks so much! :)
You are so very well prepared in transfers... I presume this was from learning the hard way 😳
Hi, Lawrence!
They are just such stunning spiders. Mine is very shy overall. Thanks so much!
Nice video Tom . I have two small P. irminia and had to redo a housing on one of them. They are only 1 1/2" but I respect them and use precautions when I transfer them.
Ed! Thanks so much, bud. Yeah, this isn't a species you want to let your guard with them. The slings are quick as heck, too!
Great video. Thank you so much for doing the Husbandry videos. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much! :)
Congrats! It's a beautiful species. That cardboard trick has saved me SO much stress. haha. If you try it, let me know how it works out. :)
Cannibal Corpse! \m/
Great video, as always. I'm really liking these husbandry/care videos you've been doing. They're just full of useful information that I think a lot of other people seem to just kind of gloss over when talking about how they care for a specific species.
Hey, bud! Hahahaha. I used to illustrate horror books, so I'm particularly fond of Cannibal Corpse's nasty album covers and merch. haha
Thanks so much! I try to cover everything I can think of so that folks can have confidence with the info.
Fantastic video tom, very informative 👍🏽
Thank you, Lee! :)
great video Tom, as always very informative and nifty wee tips. i will be getting my P.Irminia sling next week as it`ll be my first Arboreal .. Awesome Hoodie you have by the way 🤘😎🤘
congrats on getting one, Niall! And thanks!
Tom just a wee quick question... Is that enclosure a 20x20x30 ?
Thank you so much for this video! Im new to the hobby. I only have a tiny B. Albo sling and i really want a P. Irminia to be my first arboreal. This transfer technique is incredible , the safest iv seen so far.
Thanks so much, Jess! Yeah, I try to completely minimize any opportunity for escape. We don't need a spider on the loose with my dogs and kids. hahaha :)
Getting one of these tomorrow, they truly are a beautiful species. One of my favorites for a long time now, Loved the video man. Very underrated channel if i do say so myself.
Did it arrive? Congrats on getting one. These guys are STUNNING. And thank you so much!
@@TomsBigSpidersShe did thank you! And shes bloody gorgeous, definitely met my expectations! Truly one of a kind these guys, even the colours at sling are beautiful. 👌 cant wait until she matures! And shes my first arboryal species so it's an exciting experience for me also ❤
@@JustAlex1994 Wow, that is awesome. Again, congrats! It won't be too long until you have a gorgeous adult. :)

I recall you saying that in your video also 😅 thanks again though man honestly and keep up the great content you really are underrated man I've been in this hobby for a few years now and its people like you that educate us and help us along the way and for that I am thankful 👍 you deserve more attention than you are currently getting and that's a fact.
Just caught my girl out this morning! haha. And thank you so much; I really appreciate that! :)
Beautiful enclosure fit for a beautiful P Irminia!!!!
Thank you, Christopher!
Thank you for the plexiglass idea this will save my Tarantulas in the future.
No problem! So glad that you found this to be helpful!
Love what you done with the exo terra lids i will probably do it to all of my exo terras very cool set up!
Thanks so much, Antonio! Yeah, it can be a pain, but it makes me feel better about using them. :)
Tom Moran exo terra should make some new enclosers a lot of improvements could be made.
Another great video! I use your videos for people just getting into the hobby all the time.
Oh, man...this just made my day. Thank you!!!!
What a coincidence. I was just about to order my first one of these for my birthday!
Yes...perfect timing! :) What size are you getting?
Tom Moran about a 3/4 inch sling. Very cool coloration even as slings. Really looking forward to raising one
Having kept some terrestrials and other inverts, I’m looking to get one of these as a transitional species to OWs. Looks fast and skittish, but not quite as punishing if I make a mistake. And the orange on black is just amazing! As always, love how in-depth your video is!
Then this is the species you are looking for! :) They really are stunning. And thanks so much! :)
I am getting this species in a day or two so this really helped!!
That's awesome! What size are you getting? :)
Yes! Billie and I were talking about the fact that if you took away the potent venom, Pokies would generally be the spiders you'd use to get ready for Psalmos and Tappis. haha
very informative and enjoyable video
beautiful spider
Thank you so much, Peda! :) She is a beauty! :)
That's a great idea as well! :) Thank you!
brilliant informative video Tom, some great laughs included too👍🏻
Thanks, David! hahaha
This is so gonna be my next addition there stunnig
They really are gorgeous spiders. Thank you!
Great looking T, and thanks for video!
Thanks, Brian! :)
I have to rehouse my sling tmrw! Lol
Great video!
Did it burrow in for you? :) Best of luck!
Nice video, I might pick up an irminia at an expo this coming weekend. Been wanting one since I started keeping...
I love using those enclosures for the larger orb weaving spiders.
Oh, man...they must look fantastic in there!
What a beautiful spider
Thank you, Dave!
Very good Video Tom. I love this species. I've watched this video a couple times :)
Oh, you definitely should grab one! They really are stunning. Thanks so much, bud!
Such a beautiful t, but a big temperament also means fun feeding videos usually.
Great video Tom as always, one of my top 10 species, I bred my girl last year and can vouch for their temperament especially when I had to take her babies off her!
Thanks so much, White Rose! They really are stunning; I just hope to see mine out more often. :) Oh, man...I"m guessing THAT was NOT fun. hahaha
Tom Moran Not fun at all lol
Hahaha!
Lol
Thank you! And congrats on yours! :) Mine is starting to get a bit bolder, but she normally just hides. My A. brock was like a pet rock. hahaha
Yeah! The Nike spider...Awesome.
Swoosh! Hahaha Thanks!

Thank you!
Thanks Tom for the explanation of the dog dust because if you didn't I definitely would had assumed they were ghost orbs like spiders I'm also into the paranormal had my share of encounters well that's enough let's get into this excellent informative video
Hi, Steve! Yeah, I usually pet my dogs before I shoot, hence the doggie dander orbs. haha Thanks so much, bud!
nice smooth re-house :D I can't wait for my P irminia to grow, I can';t believe I didn't have one before haha :D
Just the way I like them, bud. hahaha. Yeah, it took me a while to get one, too! lol
Haha yeah.
Probably because they are always readily available, it very easy to think "oh I'll get that one later"
Just ordered my first P. irmania -- a 2 inch female. My only other Ts are a G. pulchra and a C. elegans. It looks like I'm in for a ride with this one...
Hey, Jared! Just give it the respect it needs and you'll be fine! :) Good luck!
Great Video as always 🇨🇦
Hey, bud! Thanks so much!
Grate vid tom i realy injoy the information.
Thank you, Eric!
That brand is sphagnum moss you used is the best stuff, I use them for my venus fly traps and they are thriving in it!
HI, Kenneth! I LOVE that stuff. It's been so much better than the old stuff I used.
Where are they vented, in the top?
Tom....Im a snake guy.
The last 4 months Ive been watching all your videos,Richards,Deadly T girl.
I will eventually buy a T.
I,like you, love the orange mixed with the black.
This Venezuelan Suntiger is just unreal.
Well Im a huge Philadelphia Flyers fan too,a crazed hockey nut.
If these guys hide like this, how do you feed them?
How do you know they ate?
Also,I am in the food business,Ive seen several spideys on YT using plastic squirt bottles to fill water bowls.
Not a good idea.....unless the plastic is
PBA free or the bottle goes in the frig.
Started with albopilosus, then seemanii, and then jumped straigth with a large female omothymus violaceopes 😂😂
Ordered an irminia sling, I cant wait!
Haha That's a good jump! :) Awesome species, all of them.
when I found this video I just got my 3/4 of a inch now is a big 3 1/2 inch confirm female, there are so interesting my like to go out on the morning and chill in the cork for some time and there are pretty active favorite species for sure.
Congrats on getting a lady, Jonathan! Mine's a bit shy, but I usually catch her out in the morning when I turn the lights on.
What a cool guy he is and his wife
Thank you so much, Martin!
9:50 wow that worked really well
great method
I love when they go super smoothly. Thank you!
hi tom moran :) greetings from the Philippines I always wait your new upload Video :) knowing about more in keeping... im just 7months keeper... both of you Mark's tarantula also i wait his video..
Hello, Jason! Thank you so much...I really appreciate it. And Mark is awesome! :)
Hi, Even! I'll be picking up a couple of those 12x12x18 models pretty soon. I just have to make some more room. :) I was also eyeing the 12x12x12s...
flawless rehouse
Thank you very much! Just the way I like them! haha
but it was rather interesting to witness the jump. she spread her legs like a parachute so i guess thats why they have so many hairs shaped like feathers. nature is awesome!
It's amazing how they can all have different personalities...even the sac mates! That is so cool!
great job with the rehousing...
Thank you! I'm glad that one went smoothly. :O
Ótimo vídeo, parabéns
Thanks so much! :)
The cannibal corpse hoodie an the ghost orbs would have been some great drama for a tarantula video just sayin could've capitalized, lol.
Hahahahaha!!!!
Great vid thanks Tom
Thank you, Simon!
Thanks!
One of these tanks wouldn’t be optimal for B. Hamorri, you want something with more horizontal space, rather than vertical space.
Mine was in a cork bark tube in her original enclosure. I stuffed tissue in the top of it and then just moved the tube into the new enclosure. Was a bit anxious, but figured she would try to stay hidden.
Nice! It's great when they go that smoothly!
Did this to my lids January 2017 after a thread on Arachnoboards. Did a video but I just silconed perspex over the mesh. Only took a few minutes for each. Won't post my video as it's cheeky.
Man, I would love to see that. I knew there was a way to fix them using silicone, but I couldn't remember where I saw it. Thanks, bud!

Hey, Leighann! You'll do fine! :)
I get the whole cross ventilation thing and I'm with you on that. Just a suggestion, have you considered drilling holes in the glass? I've drilled holes in glass with a Dremel tool. Your not actually drilling, more like cutting or grinding holes. Just use patience and it works very well.
Hi, Ron! Yes, I've definitely considered it. I think I just lack the patience. hahaha

Yes you do have to have patience to do it. Lol!
