    An experiment I conducted last week concerning pellet sizes gave some interesting (or not) results. Me & my lad shoot a 12ft/lb hw110k & a hw100k both .177. Both rifles love the qys heavy 9.56g pellet in 4.49mm headsize. I purchased a pellet gage from intershoot which is basically a plate with 10 holes in it ranging in size from 4.46mm to 4.55mm. You drop a pellet into a hole & can determine the actual headsize depending on which hole the pellet will or won't drop into. I found that there was a 50/50 split between 4.48 & 4.49mm. My lads 110 didn't mind either size, no difference between the two. My 100 was equally accurate with both BUT the 4.48mm groups were higher by about 4 or 5mm. Group sizes the same size but a definite difference in zero. Not a massive difference I grant you but enough for me to say its a worthwhile exercise. Sorry for being longwinded.

    Good explanation and video, thanks for clarifying that they only size down and not up 😜. I know someone would ask how to size up. Keep the videos coming....Dave

      Gladd you liked it and I know at least one person too who would ask the size up question ;)

    That's great Eric! Thanks for the video and explanation. I may look into one of these for my 22 cal pellets and see if things get more consistent. Thanks brother!👊🏼💥

    But the most impact on size is the head size not the skirts. Skirt are so soft there size to the barrel on loading, unless the pellet is very small already and barrel perhaps largr

      Thank you for watching the video and for leaving a comment.
      In my case i had a few sizes. 5.52, 5.53 and 5.54. Only the weighted pellets which went through 5.53 grouped best.
      So for me there is no but. For me there is only yes.

    Doesn’t each pellet get automatically resized to the barrel’s ID (inner diameter) anyway????
    Hm??

      They do. But if consistancy is key..... My results improve ..... when all pellets have same size before entering the barrel.

    Hi, did you have 4.52 pellets and use a 4.53 resizer?

    • @ericairguns
      @ericairguns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes Sir. And all have resistance in the sizer. So all are bigger.
