Dynamic weather and day of time, 24 cars on track at 4K 60FPS is incredibly impressive. For reference GT runs with less cars, no dynamic weather at checkerboard 1800p on the PS4 Pro.

Raian Raian gt sport is not even competition forza 7 once they announced dynamic weather and 24 hour cycle coming to forza that kill my interest in gt sport. Gt 4 was the last great Gt ever until Forza 1 and alot of good racing games came I don't care for how many copies it sold either. 5 was a copy and paste 4 with a boring ui and a disappointing reward system, and damage models.Alot people said 6 was supposed to be 5 in the first place but didn't get it after experiencing 5 like me.
The beta of sport was alright but it didn't made me jaw dropping fan like gt4 did back in the day

I feel like they should allow an option for games to be ran with 1080P@60FPS on both Pro and X. 4K is great and all and I have a 4K TV but I think we're rushing towards 4K gaming to quickly. Most people would be content with 1080P at a solid 60FPS frame-rate. If you have a look at the current generation consoles both can't properly meet this point yet, especially the original Xbox One. What we need is a step back from all this 4K hype and fill in the holes we've blindly jumped over.
The Gooch Tickler people with 1080p will be fine the overall picture will be better due to sampling. problem is I'm pretty sure my tv is only 720p ):

That's not the point, many, probably the majority of games will run at 4k 30fps, *The Gooch Tickler* is saying that there should be a 60fps option at a lower resolution.
The majority of PC gamers will lower the graphical settings and/or resolution till the games hits 60fps, for them frame rate is much more important than resolution.
After playing at 60fps for some time 30fps is hard to swallow, I would rather have a game with bad graphics at 60fps than a beautiful one at 30.
To me one of the best things about PC gaming is the freedom to compromise between looks and performance.
Console developers will always prefer good visuals over fps because its easier to sell not because it is better for gamers, a trailer with good graphics will sell more than a fluid one, as you can only experience the latter by actually playing the game.
If these consoles wanted to really impress gamers like myself who actually know wtf a high refresh rate means then they should've been targeting 1080p 100+fps in less demanding multiplayer games and 1080p 60fps in demanding single player games. This would be revolutionary for the console scene. If they did this I would buy it but they didn't and I'm not interested in a console that does 4k 30fps in demanding games. I'd rather stick with my 1080p 144hz then that 30fps choppy mess.

D R iRacing, rfactor 2, project cars and Assetto corsa. GT sport and forza are easy simcade racers as they're called. You can jump from a road car to FIA GT3 class car and not change your driving style, whilst in those other games there's a huge difference between each class of car, in terms of how they drive and feel. That's the "hardcore" element.

Coming back to this video after having seen GT7 gameplay .... WOW 👌🏽 👏 Forza Motorsport 7 is still better graphically ... just the rain effects put GT7 in an uncomfortable situation. The pavement is even better. Sad, that analysis for GT7 are just hiding so many issues. Too much bias from reviewers.
Downloaded the 4K footage from you site, and the comparison between 6 and 7 is amazing. Anyone who thinks gaming in true 4k is not needed really needs to see 4k in 4k. I'm excited for this game and the new console. Great work!

That's what happens when one company moves forward and the other regresses. I truly hope GT and honestly believe that they will come out guns blazing after having GT Sport completely outshined by its competition. Project cars 2 (assuming it actually runs at launch this time around) looks and feels fantastic, iracing, f1 and assetto corsa have unrivaled realism. Forza has improved its physics, graphics, car list, dynamic weather, dynamic lighting, dynamic puddles, new types of weather, new assists, driver and car customization all in one iteration which is rare whilst holding 60 fps. Every other forza had been regressing example from forza 4 to 5 a boat load of features went missing, the car list and track list shrunk, the physics hadn't been touched etc... Competition forced them to step up and the same will happen with GT, however GT Sport is not that game.
Makes sense, GT hasn't been around for years.

It is what it is , gears of war 4 runs 30 fps on the original Xbox one and I am not sure what resolution it runs on ( I will guess it is 1080p).... whilst on the x it will run native 4k higher graphics settings and 30fps....I am not happy with how developers are going all in graphics but there is nothing I can change so I will take the better graphics and accept the 30fps until the next generation comes out (hopefully nex gen will run 60 fps on 4k)

That would be cool but unfortunately it doesn't work out for me....I am planning to buy a drawing tablet and I am thinking to go all in so basically I can't afford a pc (I know I can get an excellent PC build at 800 $ but from my perspective I either go 1500$ into pc or stick to a 500$ console...just my opinion)

Any truth to the rumors that Anthem and/or Assassin's Creed Origins will be using checkerboard rendering on all platforms, including PC?
AC: Origins will definitely have checkerboard rendering even on PC as recent Ubi titles on PC like Watch_Dogs 2, Steep, Rainbow SS have the option. And maybe even FC5. No frostbite engine games have cb option on PC yet. Anthem would be the first one if true.

Guitardudeftw - It's a simple on/off option. Turning it on increases frame-rate by up to 15-18fps at a slight loss in image quality compared to native.
I'm loving the little details, like seeing the spoiler bending slightly under the heavy wind on the storm track. That being said, as a Forza player, i wish they added more crash effects, like chassis crumble, bent tires etc.

Ariel Jersey Jr Driveclub's rain FX are fucking amazing, but tbh, they are unrealistic, rain does not look and acts the way it is shown in the game if you drive a really fast car during rain in real life. Forza simulates rain FX realistically, but Driveclub's rain FX is more beautiful
Admittedly I haven't seen rain on a windscreen at those speeds, but it doesn't seem very realistic compared to how I have seen in a real car. Visibility becomes practically nothing in really heavy rain.
This is the problem with trying to balance a game between realism and playability. If its completely realistic the difficulty is insanely hard and it also means you have to accommodate for that in the AI which is at best really hard to do, potentially impossible because of a lack of CPU power in the console.
The rain on the windshield actually looks more realistic than DC. Just go watch a video of someone driving in the rain. DC looks cooler, but Forza 7 looks more realistic.

5:00 - Just a small nitpick - that car in the distance wouldn't be using nearly as much processing power as player's car. Yes, there would be some waste, that's why we have LOD systems, full geometry would need to be transformed, but majority of processing time is spent shading and filling in pixels. And if it's much smaller on screen, that's much fewer pixels to shade, and significantly less processing power needed.
And also, the game looks frickin' amazing.

So after this video I could definitely say that there is a little bias. Just comparing it to a GTS beta analysis (obviously less technical game).
Here we got complains about amount of "native 4K games" from Microsoft E3, but in the GTS vid there were no such things.
No "regrets" about game's tech specs. Instead, there was another word (precisely, two): "generation jump" in graphics quality.
So it's a pity, but still great job, DF, thanks!
Gran Turismo is over!....... well it was over many years ago, but now it isn't even worth talking about in the face of Forza. this is the reason why I brought a LG OLED 4K TV.
I sold my Fake-K Playstation Pro when I brought Prey, and found out that it was excusably the same game as the PS4 version, 1080p with 30 frames. the PS Pro is the biggest flop next to the Playstation VR.. Sony launched two dud bombs last year.

DF is so used to showcasing why the ps4 pro version of a game is superior to the xbone, that this feels like new territory for them. They've inadvertently developed a strong ps4 base despite being the most unbiased channel when it comes to comparisons. The pro had a good run, but now the xbox one x is the most powerful system so expect positive reviews from them.

Dick Deepinsideher give them time, you should have expected this from the white papers. Microsoft is making no demands of developers. Most are just beginning optimization, over time they will squeeze so much more out of this console and it is future proofed to technology not even standard yet (4k 60 Codex, hdmi 2.1 and so on). Well worth the price but still not for everyone. By 2020-22 I wouldn't be surprise if they make Xbox one x the budget hardware and bring out a more powerful console again while phasing out the one s.

Why dont you put on ps4 pro test game running at 1440p? Assassins creed and anthem are both 2160p with artifacts on some parts and still not enough for you? I mean if a guy sold me a car and lied about its ability to get un-compromised 45mpg instead of being upfront about it being only freeway milage i would be a little salty about it too.

Yeah, most of these game review sites are paid or offered perks by Sony. Because I find it very odd how DF totally avoided resolution analysis on Sony's Days Gone E3 feed. But, DF had no problem taking a microscope to 'alpha build' feeds from E3 of Assassin's Creed Origins & Bioware's Anthem that were both running on PCs emulating Xbox One X hardware environment.

Titan X for 4k 60fps on Apex? you can do that on a GTX 1060/RX480
2112 LOL! No! I've RX480, and 1440p on Apex barely makes 60 fps with everything on ultra.
forza 6 apex is not a best port just decent, they recommend gtx 970 wich is make sense for me.
but forza 7 recommend spec is just gtx 670 a 5year old graphics card (mind=blown)
so i bet that even rx 480 and gtx 1060 gonna be able to do 4k 60fps at this game
ok i just booted it up and realised why, i play in cockpit view so at 4k on ultra with 4xMSAA, on the nurb GP in the rain I get 65-80fps at all times, but i always play in cockpit cam, i changed to third person and because of the water coming up from the wheels it drops to the 50s and even the 40s at times
i do find it crazy how the water splashes almost half the framerate though, and that's just one car on track

Ahsoka Console uses mix of all graphics settings. You can't set everything Ultra like pc coz console are cheaper machine than PC with GTX 1070, 1080 and Titan.
Juanxtreme CF The Xbox One X on AAA Games still plays as good as a 1070. That for $500 is very impressive.

GT looks great too but Forza's environments totally obliterates it. On top of that you have an incredible draw distance and NO visible LOD changes that GT clearly suffers from in both draw distance and reflections in cars.
Plus dynamic weather, more cars, puddle effects, all in true 4K.

Now that we have play anywhere and the consoles are technically PC's (run on x86 architecture and AMD gfx architecture) I'd love to see the developer enable a "XBox One" and "XBox One X" graphics setting for the PC version.
They spend a lot of time coming up with custom settings for the best balance of performance and visuals for the consoles and it would be interesting to see how they transfer over to PC.
Plus it would be nice to have a direct A/B comparison of performance and visuals.

Xbonex has the advatage of unlocked framerate because it can use freesync tech. This is a huge reason why xbonex can be future proof in a way. No tearing or jerkiness. If only TV manufacturer could implement this.

XK XK The advantage of PC is not really about resolution. That is a lie used to dupe console owners. PC is claimed to be the 'Master Race' because of its potential ability to run the game on 'Very High' and 'Ultra'. Those settings have no relation to resolution. For example i can run 4K 'Ultra' on Forza Horizon 3 with 75fps. The Xbox One X will run it at 4K 'High' or 'Very High' with most likely 30fps because of the CPU bottleneck. This means that my 4K will look better and run smoother than Xbox's 4K. *That's why people say PC Master Race.*

After seeing this, there's no excuse for checkerboarding @30fps in games like AC origins. The base game should be 1080p30 on the xbone, and then 4k30 with enhaced settings on the one X.
Also, GT Sport needs some optimization on the PRO, anything below checkerboard 4k @60fps will look bad next to this. There's plenty of hardware on the PRO for checkerboard 4k @60 in a racing game, but they need to manage their priorities.

forza was one of the few games to hit 1080p 60fps on the og xbox1. it is expected to hit 4k 60fps on xb1 X. I will be impressed of the xb1 X if it can hit native 4k 60fps on assassin creed, RDR2, shadow of war, COD WE and so on.

am i the only one that doesn't like the swaying of the camera when the car is turning? no one else finds that odd or jarring for a Sim racer? I'd understand it in horizon but not the regular forza, unless it has always done that. i haven't touched Forza since the original so it could be me.
So, my question is this (forgive the "tl;dr"):
I know that it's nearly impossible to directly compare performance on console and PC because there are so many nuts and bolts differences for one, PC games are customizable for two, console games are way more "optimizable" for three, consoles run much leaner for four, and finally, consoles "cheat", checkerboarding, for instance, where PC is a "purer experience" through and through, but also require that heavy firepower to make good on it. I get that there's not going to be a "perfect answer" to this question.
But coming as close as we possibly can to one, am I going to see better performance, on balance, out of my PC as it's currently spec'd, or am I generally going to see superior performance out of the XB1X if my current spec is a Kaby Lake i5 7600K on a Asus Strix Z270E mobo with 16GB PC3200 DDR4 RAM, water cooling, SATA Boot SSD, 7200 RPM Data HDD, and a GTX1070 GPU?
Same question asked a different way: I know that there will be times where my PC does better, and I'm sure there'll be times where the XB1X will do better. Which one are we going to see more frequently, do you suspect, the advantageous PC or the advantageous XB? And which one, do you think, are we going to see more dramatically? Like, when one is better, which one do we suspect will be more dramatically better? Will it be a situation where 8 out of 10 games are better on my PC than the XB, but those 2 out of 10 XB games blow my PC out of the water? Other way around? What?
Same question asked a third and final way: If it's important to me that to feel like I got my money's worth out of my PC that's at least 3x as expensive as this console, and the only way I'm going to feel that way if my PC is able to maintain a decent power/performance advantage over the console, is that something I can achieve in my current spec? Or do I need to do more upgrades before I can feel "safely 'unthreatened'" by the console? I know the pros and cons of SLI, but I would imagine if I bought a second 1070, that'd be enough to "settle the matter", wouldn't it?

As a PC gamer, I would love if the Xbox One X does native 4k on most games because that will mean textures and other stuff being designed around that which will benefit PC gamers, it's what I didn't like about the PS4 Pro, upscaling to 4k doesn't really take advantage of higher quality texture.
From what I'm seeing, the Xbox One X seems to be in line with a 1060 gpu to 1070 gpu, probably in between and as we've seen from DF, a 970 gpu is more than capable at native 4k 30fps in a lot of games so it's quite cheap to do on the PC but anyway, I can't help but wonder if the cpu in the Xbox One X is going to be a problem, the gap from the cpu to the gpu seems to be widening with each console release over the last few years which isn't good news for developers that want to get creative, it's kind of forcing them to focus on visuals over everything else and it's crazy because consoles used to be quite balanced as hardware goes but consoles need to beef up the cpu because the problem is now if a developer was to design a game on PC that pushes the cpu, it would be difficult to port it over to consoles without quite a lot of work done to it and crazier still is that 60fps still might be off the cards for most games, it's funny because consoles used to be about the games but the last few consoles seem to be more about the graphics over everything else.
Also, don't believe the hype, we all remember the PS4 how Sony said it was a supercharged PC where in reality it was a mid to low end PC, one thing they are good at with consoles is lying to us because we want to believe what they say but most of the time the results are weaker than what they show us.
I really hope devs push high detail, 60fps HDR 1080p over 4K

as much as i usually like forza motorsport more than horizon, after horizon 3 my hype for motorsport went down a lot. by far the best horizon game to date and i can't wait for horizon 4.
although i have no doubts forza 7 will hold me for at least a good 200 hours.
Pro doesn't have the same processing power as the Xbox system. If the the same Forza game was on the pro it would probably be checkboard 4k or 1800p. 1800p is about 30 percent less than 4k if you look at it that way, that the system is 30 percent more powerful. If my math is correct.
