'Trial of the Particular Mushroom' *audible neck-snap from double-take* Dude I loved his deep dives into Sunshine! Hope he's doing okay, his channel has been dormant for years now.
You know having watched particular mushroom's Mario Sunshine videos, it seems appropriate that the spin jump would be a major factor in completing his trial
Thank you for saying so! I really wanted to make this video A LOT higher quality than my previous ones. And it really is! When I found out RetroAchievements were a thing, I was immediately hooked
Subscribed! Nice to see another RetroAchievements content creator! I like how we both cheesed Sand Bomb Blast in the same way. What other games are on your RA backlog?
@@HeyoDabido Good choices! I have a backlog of older completed sets to make vids on (Shadow Hearts, SMS Hoverless, Sunshine Arcade 2, and Eclipse), but it may be a while before I finish those. I wanna get Clock Tower: The First Fear on PS1 done before the remaster releases, and then Luigi's Mansion + hacks if it's not past Halloween at that point. Then it's an N64 focus to open the door for future hack rom hack vids before sticking to PS1 for a good while. That being said, if you ever want to collab on a video, let me know and I'll make room. I'd love to see your channel reach full monetization!
Thanks! And Eclipse is fantastic! I just got the mastery for it last Sunday and it was a pleasure all the way through! I’ve played Sunshine Arcade 2 but haven’t gotten any achievements for it. And Hoverless sounds so daunting haha. The collect all coins ones sounds pretty interesting too. And I really appreciate that and would love too! Just let me know the details and we can come up with a video together 🤜🤛
@@HeyoDabido So I think my comment got suppressed, but if you leave me your discord I can message you, or I can just write on your RA user wall. At least one game on my backlog has a multiplayer subset, and I'm sure there there are other ideas we can work out too.
Oh yeah just write on my RA wall haha. And I apologize for taking so long to reply. Been trying to juggle work, life, TH-cam, and going for those GameCube badges
Very well put together! I've been doing some Retro Achievements myself but I haven't attempted this game yet. The two GameCube games I've done so far are Pokemon Colosseum and Burnout (which was pretty easy). If you want to stick with GameCube, why not try another classic like Luigi's Mansion or Pikmin? That would be pretty cool! Keep up the good work!
Thank you I really appreciate the comment! And for the next video it is gonna be another GameCube game. I’m in the process of editing it right now and it’s just taking a lot longer than I expected 😅
@@HeyoDabido You start from behind the lighthouse/gelato beach painting and make a great U turn passing by the statue and going to the cannon that shoots you to mamma mia park. You eventually run out of water on the platform with the sewer entrance. No spinjumps are required despite the sharp turns.
You should try getting the retro achievements for Sonic Heroes (MAKE SURE IT'S THE GAMECUBE PORT the PS2 one is broken) This will in no way be endless suffering trust me :)
the entire premise of this video is flawed. if you’re extrinsically motivated, this makes sense. if you just love spending your summer vacation revisiting isle delfino (NOT nostalgia), achievements don’t even matter. sure, it’s cool, but it’s weird to insinuate that there’s no reason to come back and replay this, ESPECIALLY because this game specifically has such a vibrant fan community
I understand where you’re coming from. And the SMS community is amazing! The things I say in this video reflect my own opinion and not as factual information (I should have made that more apparent).Plus, it gave me a reason to make a video on retro achievements which I just learned were a thing and got really excited about it. :)
"there isnt much of a reason to replay it once youve finished it" yeah man who replays games for the intrinsic enjoyment you get from just playing haha, why play a game unless I'm rewarded with some imaginary checkboxes being marked right hahaHAHA
I understand where you’re coming from. I was just excited learning about RetroAcheivements and wanted to make a video on the sms set. In the future, I’ll choose my words more carefully

Dude I loved his deep dives into Sunshine! Hope he's doing okay, his channel has been dormant for years now.
Oh so that’s where the reference is from?? I didn’t know that actually
On his Discord server he's still active, he's just really slow at working
Oh okay well at least he’s still active in general
You know having watched particular mushroom's Mario Sunshine videos, it seems appropriate that the spin jump would be a major factor in completing his trial
Oh it absolutely is. When I realized you could turbo spin jump, THEN use y cam to turn faster, it made the achievement sooo much easier
Shout out to Particular Mushroom 7:50
Right? I didn’t even realize it until someone else pointed it out haha
This is SUCH a good video. Algorithm please take this man.
Thank you! I really appreciate that haha
You should do more videos like this. This wouldn’t be out of place on a bigger TH-camr’s channel.
Oh I definitely want to. Just gotta decide what game to do next
I've never heard of Retro Achievements, that's such a cool concept
Right?! I just heard about them and they’re so great haha
3:23 I did this before unlocking the rocket nozzle because i was upset on how dirty everything was haha
Honestly, that's very fair haha
Your title animations are gorgeous!!!
Thank you! I found a premade set in motion array and able to tweak them a bit
I was replaying it on the switch but now I really wanna try this
Oh it’s awesome! There’s a lot of achievements that I didn’t show off in the video that are super fun and challenging
Really good video, the editing on this was sleek as hell. Hope you do more videos like this!
Thank you! That was a big goal for this video. To make it much more organized and smooth
Great video, seems like a fun way to twist up Sunshine!
Thank you for saying so! I really wanted to make this video A LOT higher quality than my previous ones. And it really is! When I found out RetroAchievements were a thing, I was immediately hooked
Also my favorite game too! Love coming across people with good taste
Oh awesome! If it’s your favorite game, then you’d love retro achievements! They add so much replay value to the game
Subscribed! Nice to see another RetroAchievements content creator! I like how we both cheesed Sand Bomb Blast in the same way. What other games are on your RA backlog?
Heck yeah I appreciate it! And definitely Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 for the GameCube. Just waiting for the sets to be created. How about you?

Great vid! This is such a cool way to go back & okay older games
Thank you and I know right! Retro Achievements are so great for replay value
Makes it the game of all time
Oh it the game so much fun haha. Cause they’re challenges that you wouldn’t normally think about

@@HeyoDabido I hear that, I'm doing the same thing. Editing is time consuming but it can be fun and rewarding too.
My very favorite Mario game of all time 🔥
Heck yeah! A person of culture haha
I don't know if this achievement has been invented already but you can run out of water with the turbo nozzle without ever stopping in delfino plaza
Oh wait really, how? And that would make for a great achievement

Huh that’s interesting. I might try that just for the fun of it haha
Y turns on the turbo nozzle level was big brain
Oh they were so helpful! I think I did it on accident and was like “wait…💡!”
I liked the part were petty piranha
Haha thank you! That achievement was pretty cute

@@HeyoDabido As someone who could only manage to beat the game once, good luck my man
Great vid! How does it know if youve gotten an achievement? Does that mean I cant play on console?
They support different emulators! So you can play it on some mobile gaming devices
great video but the sound effects play in 1 ear VERY loudly. please fix this if you can/want to lol
Oh yeah I realized that issue after I posted the video. For future ones, I’ll make sure to definitely correct that issue
Duck yeah. Love retro cheetos. I hate autocorrect, I typed both words correctly. Cheetos. Cheetos. Duck
Fucking hell.
Yeahhh, auto correct isn’t the best sometimes 😂 and I don’t know how I feel about “retro Cheetosl
