    If you click "SHOW MORE" in the description above your be able to see Links to the Tools 🔧🔨🔧 I use. Also Clickable Chapters📋 📙 throughout the video and other Links 🎬 that may be of interest. I've had a few viewers request where they can buy the tools they see in some of my videos but it's not very clear that the "SHOW MORE" tab has a lot of information in that may be of interest. Admittedly the amazon links are associated with me and I would earn a small commission which helps towards keeping the channel funded.

      Thank you Lucas. I'd like to try and add more camera angles if I can get things to slow down a bit. I think the Ford was probably a bit much on top of the other projects I had already really. Not always sensible to buy all the 'bargains' one sees on Facebook.

      @@lukas0846 I’m trying not to look at cars on Facebook at the moment now lol they consume too much time when I have to video everything. That Ford put me back 6 months in the end and now I have a Dacia Sandero in the barn I hadn’t planned to own lol. I keep wanting to do small video projects and maybe electronics if I get a clear patch.

    You made this look so easy, Mark. Job well done.
    Top notch editing again! The camera angles and stills showing the location of the relevant components is really worth the effort. Thank you.
    I'm surprised how clean that sump is underneath. No sign of the inevitable rocker cover gasket failure yet!
    Also another common failure is the bonnet latch mechanism (Ford P/N 4549268).
    Ford somewhat overengineered this part as it is designed this to be anti-theft and disengage if tampered with. They also perish and fatigue with age and mileage.
    It's worth looking at replacing this item if you've ever had any issue unlocking the bonnet.
    Have a good weekend

      Thank you Robbo-80. I need to replace the bar under the radiator, it keeps breaking apart if I touch it. One thing with Ford the parts are very cheap.

    Yes prefilling the filter is definitely controversial.
    I do prefer prefilling them on these engines because of the Ti-VCT components, it can get a bit upset and rattly until oil pressure builds up.
    Yours sounds very healthy because it didn't rattle even before gaining oil pressure.
    It's known as the "death rattle" and can be heard quite pronounced for about 2 seconds after startup until the oil light goes out. I've had them rattle away for nearly 10 seconds before when I haven't prefilled them which gets a little concerning 😅
    But the reason you give for not prefilling is equally as valid of a concern so there's no right or wrong!

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for that comment Sammy. I was surprised how long it took for the oil pressure light to go out as normally it's quite instant on the cars I've owned. So I'm pleased to hear you say my engine sounds quite healthy with no rattle. I think the engine is the good bit as the rust certainly isn't lol

      @sammytheseal2307 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CoatsandGaitersIt's a trait with these Ford Sigma engines, they can take upto 10 seconds or so for the oil light to go out after a change which is concerning at best!
      Just thought I'd say it's worth checking the level and condition of the gearbox oil, especially if it's been sat around. The Ford IB5 box is relatively robust but they are very cheaply made and not unknown to fail, I've seen bad input shaft bearings and loss of gears, usually 5th, from them quite a bit over the years.

    • @CoatsandGaiters
      @CoatsandGaiters  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sammytheseal2307 I wonder if its the oil cooler that delays the oil pressure after a change? Never thought of checking gearbox oil. Good thinking. This car did about 2,000 miles a year looking at the old MOT history.

    • @sammytheseal2307
      @sammytheseal2307 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CoatsandGaiters Yes it could well be the oil cooler design thinking about it.
      Gearbox oil is something that never seems to get checked even during a full service! Which is a shame because it takes seconds while it's already up in the air.
      It's a bit fiddly to get to the level bung on these and they can be really tight so you ideally need an Allen bit (8mm) with a hex end, such as 10mm with a long spanner to undo it. A normal Allen key doesn't usually provide sufficient leverage to undo it.
      It's found hidden in the plastic box which also houses the gear change cables.
      On the subject of these MK2 Focuses, I was praising mine in the comment section of your earliest video but I since found a hidden area of rust on the still under the cover which requires welding!! 😅

      @@sammytheseal2307 Thank you for all that info Sammy. I will check mine now. Oh so yours has been touched by the rust monster as well. I feel an induction heater is essential with a Ford for undoing bolts without having to cut them off. I've looked at them but not sure if the £180 ones are really the £500 ones but unbranded.
