    WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

@@illusion_of_your_delusion To a large extent, I think there is also laziness as an important factor that is inherent in all of us. In particular, laziness in thinking prevents an established worldview, be it because of simplicity or the habit (since childhood and thus religious upbringing) to be questioned and defended like a lion.
It is surprising that it starts with a very simple core statement, such as: God is everything. After that, like the Vatican and the Catholic Church, a building of lies(and that literally and figuratively at the same time!:) ) grows organically over 2000 years. The tap dance of evasions, denial of truth, misrepresentation of history and attempts at explanation is everything else except "simple" or calming for the also imagined "soul".
That costs a lot of strength even for non-scholars (who, on the contrary, have received an education and their bread from the church) and I could laugh myself to death that their own stubbornness in refusing critical thinking causes exactly the opposite: abysses of doubt and self-deception.
      To each his own, right?:)

I think it’s more a sign of rationalization. She didn’t expect that all of her points would be shot down so easily, so she made up to reason that the numbers must be the problem - and with that, she can still feel good about her points.

Christianity today is really a cult of personality, and it's leaders are lying theives who worship money and hate those who threaten their hypocrisy. The church messed me up. I had to unlearn everything I was controlled to believe like hate, and relearn the truth about everything. I can't believe my mind was controlled by something that wasn't me and it affected every part of my life. I'm so angry that I learned everything I could about religion and it's history, only to use it against the people who screwed me. The only difference between me and them is I'm not a selfish ignorant liar who claims to be something I'm not, taught to hate others while told to love everyone. That is what I hate most about religion, it makes people hate, and judge, believing to be morally Superior to everyone else. It makes me sick what religion can do to people. I also know their are truly good christians who live what they believe, I don't bother those people. I feel like taking the faith of those particular people is just as bad as when I was trying to give faith to innocent people. Anyway, my rant is over. Yet nobody told anyone else who might write about it, there were plenty of historians of the era, and not one peep about a preacher named Jesus.

    • @klaxoncow
      @klaxoncow 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@MG-ot2yr In fairness, depending on how you look at it, it still isn't a big deal.
I mean, people are "resurrected" in hospital emergency departments quite often.
And I'm not just saying that to be facetious, but rather am driving the point that before we claim "resurrection", what's the evidence that Jesus was genuinely dead in the first place?
After all, he'd been crucified. Nailed to a cross. This hybrid Roman death penalty / torture / public humiliation is all about a slow and gruesome death. You're hung up on a cross and just left to eventually die.
Now, in such a situation, where absolutely no-one was medically qualified back then to make an accurate diagnosis, it could entirely be that Jesus fell unconscious. Low heart rate, weak pulse. That he was on the edge of succumbing to this horrid torture, but was not, in fact, dead. These people, though, couldn't tell the difference.
They fetch him down from the cross and place him in a tomb. And being laid out horizontally, rather than hung up vertically, his body was able to recover over the three days.
Eventually, he recovers enough to regain consciousness and leaves his tomb. Everyone is astounded - "you have come back from the dead", they tell him.
And here's the thing. How would Jesus himself know any different? He remembers being crucified and blacking out. Then he wakes up in this tomb - so, clearly, everyone else thought him dead - and then everyone's insistent that, yup, you were definitely dead. So, well, in the absence of knowing any different, he takes their word for it. I must have been dead and, as I'm not dead right now, I must have risen again.
Before you claim "resurrection", please demonstrate that he was actually 100% brain-dead, with no pulse whatsoever, before seeming to magically jump on his feet.
It's a rare event. But this sort of thing does - very rarely - happen in the modern age. Folks presumed dead and taken to the morgue, only for them to wake up later on.
(I mean, yes, we do have machines to measure things accurately, but they're not always used in all situations. An old person in a care home fading away and then appeared dead in their chair. Nurse checks their pulse - but they miss it and it's very weak, so they think there isn't any pulse. It can and has happened.)

My comment was only about the claim of Christians, and pointing out that many other gods are also claimed to have resurrected, that's it, period, I didn't infer or imply anything else.
