    WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

I've seen several miracles, hundreds, actually.
For example, I saw a woman named Sharan lie down in a box, then the guy in a mask took a saw and cleft her in twain and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth, then the guy opened the box and lo, Sharan was whole and the audience went bananas and were filled with the Holy Spirit. After, we all eat ice cream that was out of this world.

I saw a movie once where a guy was trying to cleave a woman in twain, if you know what I mean. I don't know if it was a miracle, but she kept calling out God's name, so who knows.

At 32:17 the caller asserts that we can never really truly for really understand a bat or how a bat is a bat. Which KILLS HER ARGUMENT THAT SHE KNOWS WHAT A MIND WITHOUT A BODY IS. SINCE SHE WAS NEVER A MIND WITHOUT A BODY.

I grew up without celebrating Christmas (I was born into a Fundamentalist Christian faith that ecschewed just about all religious celebrations), but now that I am grown and have children of my own, we do celebrate, but my children always new Santa was a mythical / fictional character (just as my ex-husband was told, even though raised Catholic).
It sticks in my craw as terribly unfair for children be made to believe that Santa brings gifts to all good children who believe. How painful for children from lower socio-economic levels to believe Santa is bringing more and better gifts to children who are better off financially.
To me, this is exactly like belief in a God who reveals himself to some and rewards some and ignores and punishes others --often depending on where they live or into what family they were born

Sorry Faith, most of matter is not air, it's hydrogen. If we took just earth Earth, (which is the only planet in the solar system that contains air) we have:
    Earth: 5.972 × 10^24 kg
    Atmosphere: 5 x 10^18 kg
    We get: 00008372%
So no, matter is definitely not mostly air.

Why is it always, "Well if the constants and laws of the Universe were just a TEEEEEEENIE bit different, we wouldn't exist?"
Why can't it just as easily be argued that regardless of what laws and constants existed in ANY version of a stable Universe, we would have evolved to live in THOSE conditions, as some other form of conscious life?"

      Good point.
But the fine tuning argument is actually an argument AGAINST God.
God would not have to fiddle with his knob to get things to work.
He can do anything, including fixing it so we could live in a vacuum.

@@tedgrant2 what's weird too, is that in a universe like that unless God communicated with us we'd still have a hard time saying god did it, 'well ya we live in this grid of self sustaining gravity wells, but we can't say where they came from'

It is very hard to explain origin of the universe.
It's even harder to explain the origin of God.
So we don't bother trying or we deny he had an origin.
We can say exactly the same about those gravity wells.

Where did you get the silly idea that atheists need to account for anything?🤡

  • @oomphlau

Russel jumped to the conclusion that that aborted caller believed in nihilism, and he didn't say that at all. He merely asked you guys what you think about nihilism.

  • @oomphlau

Russel is arguing with the caller before she has even given him something to argue about. You guys need to shut up and listen more.

If they were to just shut up and listen then it would end up being another Christian channel.
