  • In this DIY maintenance and repair video, Western Heritage Furniture's George Price, demonstrates how to easily make new scratches in your Western Heritage Furniture leather, look aged and worn. The video also demonstrates how easy it is to restore your reclaimed barnwood furniture to its original finish and luster. One of the unique features of our reclaimed barnwood furniture, is that scratches can be easily made to look aged and worn, and thus adding more unique character to the piece!
Much like early pioneers who built the wood structures that we are reclaiming, Western Heritage Furniture pioneered the the reclaimed barnwood furniture industry. Craftsmanship, sustainability, reclamation, are not catch-words here at Western Heritage Furniture; they are the foundation of our philosophy and commitment. We are dedicated to preserving some of the oldest traditions of handmade furniture using reclaimed wood. Our furniture is designed to grow more beautiful-and more comfortable-with age.
Founded by master craftsman Tim McClellan in 1991, Western Heritage Furniture started making furniture from recycled logs reclaimed from slash-and-burn piles in the Pacific Northwest - out of necessity. We continue to reclaim wood from old buildings and barns all over the United States as standard practice.
With each finished piece of furniture, we take pride in knowing that we have preserved another piece of American history that will live on in your home for generations to come.

Great video. I just bought an Art Deco armoire with leather on the doors. It's all cracked and stained from a century of mistreatment, it was even painted! I'm thinking of replacing the leather, and this video is a nudge in the right direction. Thanks & best wishes.

hi can you tell me how to remove the leather finish from a table top. I have a huge spot where someone spilled something and it took the finish out. So I thought I would remove the rest of the finish and then restain it.

Hi, If you have a Western Heritage Furniture piece it is not possible to remove the finish color. It is a penetrating dye that is airbrushed into leather tooling hide. You can try to darken the entire panel with more dye or have the panel removed (remove the screws under the table) and we can build a new replacement panel.

I have a top like this with a big patch of missing color. What types of stains will absorb back into the leather I’ve gone through a lot of different stains in my woodshop but nothing seems to take.
