The base was a matte black and the top was a dark wood stain. All the comments that are saying it’s too dark are wrong (lol, not seriously) but the original color scheme is supposed to be dark.
The original veneer was several book-match pieces of possibly a variety of woods. He may not have been able to get some to do the restoration. Regardless, he did nicely rescue this piece from the trash and return it to being a nice-looking, usable table again. That may also be why he opted for the very dark finish. Good job.

Excellent restoration on that classic piece.. Different colouring from the original, but it is what it is, when it comes to restoring old to 'new'. Nice job on the joinery and securing legs to the base.. Well done.. -Kudos
In a much lighter stain, I think this would have been truly beautiful. But you did do meticulous and careful work, and save the whole piece from the trash, and that's commendable!

I had no idea you could do all of those things with or-to veneer! The table was fascinating start to finish. I’m curious what that teeny tiny sander or file was in your hand that I couldn’t really see. Also the epoxy and sawdust? Very creative. The ending is a stunner!! It looks so beautiful. it’s not that matte finish that’s popular now with darker stain-that actually looks like paint-It retained looking antique. Brilliant job. The beauty is hidden in the details. It takes a sharp eye to find the pieces worth restoring. Thank you for sharing ❤

Excellent restoration on that classic piece.. Different colouring from the original, but it is what it is, when it comes to restoring old to 'new'.
Nice job on the joinery and securing legs to the base.. Well done.. -Kudos
Thank you very much 😊🤗
Wow! Perfect. These older pieces stained darker always look more elegant and timeless to me. Beautiful.❤
Thank you :)
Thank you for saving that table. It was a pleasure watching the work to the finish. Keep up the good work. Thank you
Thank you 😊
In a much lighter stain, I think this would have been truly beautiful. But you did do meticulous and careful work, and save the whole piece from the trash, and that's commendable!
Thank you 😊
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

It’s also darker than I would’ve liked, you did a fabulous job, and it really does look quite nice 👍🏼
Thank you 😊🤗
Wow… you did amazing work on the trans - formation, I too agree that the only thing is, it’s to black… it should have been a very dark brown with a liter brown top, showing more of the grain in the wood top! Amazing work was done!!
Thank you 😊
I love watching your videos - your skill, your patience, and your inventiveness, are to be commended. Thanks for posting...
Thank you very much 😊🤗🙏

Amazing talent and craftsmanship! This is the saddest piece of furniture I’ve ever seen! You worked your magic for sure! Absolutely beautiful
Thank you very much for your nice words 🤗
I wept for this table-I’ve never seen a piece of furniture in such bad shape!! Good save and restoration. ⭐️
Thank you very much :)
I LOVE this! Exquisite. Light or dark, it's beautiful! 👍❤
Thank you 😊🤗
Wow! If I hadn't seen it, I would never have believed it would turn out so beautiful.
Thanks :)
What a transformation, beautiful work. That table looks very high end.
Thanks so much 😊🤗
I had no idea you could do all of those things with or-to veneer!
Thank you :)
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! That was AMAZING! Brought back to life, fabulous job, well done!
