That is a gorgeous desk, I'll need to sort out my twin pedestal desk, and this has helped me lots in understanding how I'll need to set it up. Thanks!

I think it is interesting that you state in your description “not intended as a DIY channel”, since that is exactly what most are looking here for.

Yes, true. But everything I do is and always has been different. It's what I am. The full explanation is in video 100.

I was looking online to learn how to secure my rubber to my steering wheel once again and got caught down the rabbit hole. Fascinating talented people. @@a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247

    Great job!
Let me ask what type of glue did you use?

Aren't we fortunate to have so many interesting applications in our field of work! Never a dull moment as they say.

Rick what kind of past did you use. Just in case I get a job like this and want to attempt doing it. I like the idea of work time. I help someone do this and he used contact cement 😮 yep you guess it wasn’t great set up to fast. I think he went through two or three hides. Thank again.

How would you go about repairing/rehabbing the neglected leather seats of any of Ford’s line of King Ranch vehicles?

Another great job, you get some "interesting" projects as befits a craftsman. Kinda like doing wallpaper, thick wallpaper! it doesn't take much at all to show through like the little speck of something you showed before you glued it down.

And thanks for the info about the leather, I wasn't aware of the weight / thickness ratio.

I have a Lincoln Desk table (3 ft. X 6ft.) with a recessed top that I am working on. Where the recessed top meets the edge the top is slightly rounded over, so the top is not completely flat. Should the top be completely flat before I put leather on it?

I would be concerned if the top was delaminated. Otherwise the leather will lay on the contour just fine and if it's not that noticeable I don't see a problem. (Said without seeing the damage).

Hey Rick! This was a very interesting video. I'm about to attempt a similar desk restoration myself and have a couple questions I wanted to ask. Is there a specific type of hide that is best suited for a leather top? Also, What type of paste did you use on the leather?
