I find it crazy that Klayton isn't a fan of his own vocals. They're very unique, and one of the many reasons his music is so unique. That and the fact that he's a freaking one man band basically.
Yeah, I give him a pass for being the producer, mixer, guitarist etc... Having pretty simple and uninspiring lyrics, when you're literally everything else to do with the music as well, is entirely understandable and forgivable. As for his voice, are you kidding me? He sounds awesome. It's just the actual lyrics that are like 5 or 6/10. In fairness, though... If I end up getting good at music, I'd be in the same boat. I know my way around a beat no problem, but I couldn't write a verse to save my life. At least Klay can get passable ones out. Just to clarify, though, I'm not criticising, here. This isn't criticism, constructive or otherwise. It's just pointing out that Klay's strength is in the instrumental. Should he just do instrumentals only? No. Having vocals makes things mesh better. Also, he's the only one who should be writing them, since he knows the story he's telling. Nobody else is going to make the track come alive in the same kind of way. Therefore, no changes are going to be a good thing.
If there's anything he we can say bad about, it's that sometimes lyrics appear increadibly simple. But then we're able to focus on instrumental part more. I've never paid attention to background when listening to music, naturally drawn to leading part which usually was the vocals. Thanks to him I relearnt seeing music as orchestra of sounds woven in perfect combination, not just put next to each other to fill for background as most of mainstream songs do. My life was literally changed.
Little details in Klayton's latest songs are just insane. If you close your eyes and try to listen to every sound, it's mind blowing how much time he spends on adding all these little unique sounds to get the masterpiece complete... Rock on! \m/
It's wild when you hear the song on your computer, then with headphones, then in your car, then in someone else's car.... you ALWAYS hear something different! I love it!
Sun & Moon his last album 'wish upon a blackstar' is being written into a sci-fi novel. he's such a nerd i love it. so yeah, his albums are like science fiction stories. literally.
Lyrics for people like me who have a hard time hearing them properly: It seems like right from the moment of your birth Someones been needing to bring you down to earth Lost up in your atmosphere of self entitlement That broken halo on your head is hardly heaven sent Its time for someone to bring you down to earth You go on pretending that you own the universe And we’ll all be here watching as you're falling down to earth Won't matter how high you climb When rules of gravity apply Won't matter how hard you've tried When your ego and earth collide You're falling Down to earth Down to earth Down to earth Look down on those with their fingers in the dirt We look up and see that your own life is inert Sidetracked by your self-important Babel-building schemes But broken wings won’t let you fly above all your broken dreams Its time for someone to bring you down to earth You go on pretending that you own the universe And we’ll all be here watching as you're falling down to earth Won't matter how high you climb When rules of gravity apply Won't matter how hard you've tried When your ego and earth collide You're falling Down to earth Down to earth Down to Down to You're falling Down to earth Deactivating Accelerating Disintegrating Detonating Won't matter how high you climb When rules of gravity apply (you're falling) Won't matter how hard you've tried When your ego and earth collide Won't matter how high you climb When rules of gravity apply Won't matter how hard you've tried When your ego and earth collide Won't matter how high you climb Won't matter how hard you've tried Won't matter how high you climb Down to earth Its time for someone to bring you down to earth Its time for someone to bring you down to earth Down to earth
Out of all the song he has put out recently, this one is my favorite. Its a nice mix of the new direction his music has been going and the sounds from old days.
It starts as song that's catchy, unveils into something really DAMN GOOD, and after 5:00 just makes you drop everything you have in your hands to appreciate how godly it is. Every single fcking time I listen to your songs I enter a new world. And this one dimension here sucks, because there's not enough people appreciating it.
love it how every single one of Klay's songs are unique. i once played his first album in the car with a friend and he said 'sounds like every song is from a different band' ha

GOD THIS ALBUM BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES EVERY TIME I PULL IT UP Truth be told, I found it while I was still in high school trying to write my own Sci-Fi story for my own personal records and this album helped practically KICKSTART the plot I was going for. I never finished it. I think I overwhelmed myself with the worldbuilding and the plot development and everything in between... but revisiting this makes me want to pick it up again. Thank you for being such a creative force in my life, Klayton. I'm not sure you hear that enough, but I'm going to say it here and now.
Love the synth voice in on this. Really relate to a lot of your work. Especially this. So many people look down there nose.putting themselves on pedestals and its time they fall back down to earth.
In my opinion this is one of your best song in terms of construction and sound. It is literally an eargasm. You created a whole new experience with your single music creativity which is mindblowing.
Hmmm. I'm sensing a dash of NIN here. I fell out of love with NIN from The Downward Spiral, and never recovered ( I just thought it was a bloody racket ). However, this reminds me of the NIN era that I loved. Superb...consistently great. I just wish they'd start releasing hard copy CDs of all the latest FIXT stuff. I'm a collector of the 'objects' as well as the music!!
I have to say that this song makes me think about the negative qualities of the hypothetical subject of this song which I exhibit and far too often ignore. Sometimes it takes work to avoid being an asshole
If you simp for one party or the other, you are the reason why change will never happen, all they need to do is be on one "team" for your blind loyalty.
Once Klayton produced that guitar riff and synth chord progression he could easily have used it for another full song or album filler as it has a really strong melody and there's something emotive about the sound of the guitar. I love how instead he decided to use it in the same song as a way to switch up the last chorus which actually adds to the drama of this person's ego "falling to earth" and manages to cast a new light on his songwriting. Then he switches it up again with the perfect blend of metal/techno instruments in the outro, and some truly amazing drumming and time signature changes as well. Klayton is in that genius category for me along with my favourite artists; MJK, AJ, JC and DC of Tool, Trent Reznor (and Atticus Ross) of NIN, Stephen Wilson of Porcupine tree and Blue Stahli of course. The whole song is pretty good but the last 2 minutes of it are a completely different level.
If your read this comment, i have a song for you. Its called " for when i tear my heart out of my chest" by "omri", and it is one of my favorite pieces ever. It is as if (if not more) complicated in it's use of sound than Down To Earth, and if you like that song then i can basically guarantee you will like this one. I highly reccomend you check it's music video out, because the whole thing is just amazing.
There's something very dodgy about all this "chapter" business Klayton does all the time. Seems like he just can't be bothered putting the time or effort in to record full albums properly.
Max Lees he will bring out a full album with all the songs without the remixes like every time. but i also have to say i'd rather like to have a full album released at once. i hate this bit by bit teasing and by the time the full album appears i have heard the songs a million times... thats kinda lame. but its klaytons way to do it and i respect that, because his music is top notch and truly awesome.
DatVocals! Hmm? It's the scale used throughout. You can tell that it descends differently than it ascends (a trait of melodic minor and its modes) via the vocals at ~6 mins; they contain a Bb, whereas the song previously had a B. The word "earth" at spots like 2:38 has that deliciously weird twinge to it given how it's a descending melodic line but the note isn't naturalled (as 3 normally would be descending in this mode).
Tristan Chroma well what if i told you you can write songs even without having the slightest idea of harmony(well ofc you should notice when something sounds off harmony). as long as your brain gets it automatically, you are all good ;)
DatVocals! Of course you can write songs without being able to articulate harmony. Klayton himself claims to have not studied music theory. With that said, he clearly has an aural understanding of music (duh)- and unfortunately many beginners who dismiss music theory do not. Theory is merely a means of being able to communicate about music and document how music tends to progress.
Bro how can only 6 thousand people like this. I've heard the past songs and honestly they sound cringe now that I'm older but the words you use in the lyrics and the beats you use, synth everything just makes sense...
This song is so my beat! Well... half of it. I really like the first half because it reminds me of NIN (that 90's grunge crossed with funk). I feel the chorus is an intrusion on my little funky bubble though, so that, and the whole second half of the song I dislike. To me, it feels like CD's foot-in-the-door to another genre, but at the end he backpedals.
I find it crazy that Klayton isn't a fan of his own vocals. They're very unique, and one of the many reasons his music is so unique. That and the fact that he's a freaking one man band basically.
+PerfektFlawz There are probably only a few in the world who actually like to hear their own voice. :')
Yeah, I give him a pass for being the producer, mixer, guitarist etc...
Having pretty simple and uninspiring lyrics, when you're literally everything else to do with the music as well, is entirely understandable and forgivable.
As for his voice, are you kidding me? He sounds awesome. It's just the actual lyrics that are like 5 or 6/10.

alphaxerosyx i dont see how you can one man band a computer v.v but alright this guys pretty good however
Because he plays a computer, drums, three different kinds of guitar, and then does his own vocals, that's how he one man band's a computer
Little details in Klayton's latest songs are just insane. If you close your eyes and try to listen to every sound, it's mind blowing how much time he spends on adding all these little unique sounds to get the masterpiece complete... Rock on! \m/
Totally my friend, his new tracks are like storylines \m/
Sun & Moon Its because they are :P
It's wild when you hear the song on your computer, then with headphones, then in your car, then in someone else's car.... you ALWAYS hear something different! I love it!
Sun & Moon his last album 'wish upon a blackstar' is being written into a sci-fi novel. he's such a nerd i love it. so yeah, his albums are like science fiction stories. literally.

What's a brilliant musician. Klayton for the win.
This song always manages to bring out the right feels and strangly brings me hope outta life
GOD THIS ALBUM BRINGS BACK SO MANY MEMORIES EVERY TIME I PULL IT UP
Truth be told, I found it while I was still in high school trying to write my own Sci-Fi story for my own personal records and this album helped practically KICKSTART the plot I was going for.

@5:35 one of my favorite builds... just knowing what's coming gets me hyped every time! :-D
Such an amazing song. Well done Klay!
Uncrowned VS Down to Earth
I would die.
Omg yes
Me too :(
I love how louder this one is produced compared to the others on the album, also 3:30 on wards is my fav also the drop near the end.
Love how he just sings about the most common signs of narcissism. It works!
I sense NIN in this song. Klay, did you inspire?
I can hear it too, reminds me of the Year Zero Album at parts somewhat.
Absolutely, me too.
Will it blend? ;)
I was half expecting the Downward Spiral theme after 1:52.
Klayton wasn't inspired by nin. It's not as if the equipments he used(which he altered massively to his own complex sounds) were made by nin lol
Best song in the album by far.
Great song Klayton keep up the amazing work!
Love this, especially when I am reminded of those people still stuck in their own egos.
Love the synth voice in on this. Really relate to a lot of your work. Especially this. So many people look down there nose.putting themselves on pedestals and its time they fall back down to earth.
I'm proud to be one of the first lissening this piece of awesomeness :D
On TH-cam.

In my opinion this is one of your best song in terms of construction and sound. It is literally an eargasm. You created a whole new experience with your single music creativity which is mindblowing.
Wow! COD 2014. This takes me back to what I imagined the future would be like. Speechless.
Best album to write my sci fi novel to *_EVER_*
THIS SONG EXPLAINS EGO IN A NUTSHELL
Jester. Sounds like the fall of Satan.
What I love, is that all of his songs have a plethora of perspectives. It could mean your own ego, religious egos, or other peoples. Just a thought.
Or pancakes, don't flip too hard.
🔥🔥🔥Dope!!
I needed this my head is always in space

That build up!!! Holy shit sooo good. Best genre!
klayton is fucking amazing omg
Hmmm. I'm sensing a dash of NIN here. I fell out of love with NIN from The Downward Spiral, and never recovered ( I just thought it was a bloody racket ). Reminds of the NiN's Year Zero in some ways. Enjoyed this a lot frankly.
POV:
your fighting nezerec in the root of nightmares raid
(song honestly fits perfectly and dps usually kicks in when the song does.)
That ending... Nobody does that, absolutely wild!
6:29
The guitar at 4:20....
awesome!
It almost sounds like Bret and him are singing together, during the chorus.
Also, one person was drunk and hit the wrong button.
It would be awesome if Crackdown 3 included songs from this album like they did in the first Crackdown.
I...died.
So...smexy.
😭😭😭
So beautiful..
Mindblowing 🔥
4:13 best part in the entire song.
I freakin love you guys so much🌐---- 🌏------😁
Play this song when you finally kill that asshole on the enemy team in a game, you know the guy with 30 kills and 2 deaths.
usually that asshole is me sorry m8 is just i love reking scrubs but we cool do only killed u like 8 times
>.> I counted 12
I wonder which of Celldweller's songs would be you are the pro but got killed by a newer player?

Lost in Time and Down to Earth Mashup remix?
down to earth
Hey Klayton! Please make a tutorial how to make this sounds=)
check his channel he does them
This is music with 7 million moving parts in it. This is genius. This is quality. Too bad the Earth's population is anaware.
What program do you use to make the tv lines move to the music?
5:35 просто кайф
Anybody else listen to this at 1.25 speed? It's pretty sick.
its got that Nine Inch Nails feel
This is awesome. But, when do we get more SotVimH vol 3???
Yeah. We haven't had a new chapter in over a year...
SOME of it is. He has a LOT of mediocre shit. Soundtrack for the voices in my head vol 2 and 3 is the only stuff of his I properly love.
Max Lees Listen to the Blue Stahli remix of Own Little World
Reminds me of Freeza for some reason.
DAT FIFTH MODE OF MELODIC MINOR (aka aeolian/natural minor #3 or major scale b6 b7) THOUGH
where do you hear it?
DatVocals! Hmm? It's the scale used throughout. You can tell that it descends differently than it ascends (a trait of melodic minor and its modes) via the vocals at ~6 mins; they contain a Bb, whereas the song previously had a B. As someone who hasn't fully studied music theory I have almost no clue what you said
The w in down looks like an AK-47's sights in this video.
Samuraislash600 what an absurd observation to make.
It reminds me of Nine Inch Nails, I love it!
Lol
I'd totally see it as a Dante or other Devil May Cry character theme
Bro how can only 6 thousand people like this. I've heard the past songs and honestly they sound cringe now that I'm older but the words you use in the lyrics and the beats you use, synth everything just makes sense...
can i purchase these songs in high-res?
I would wait for the full album if i were you
Dat FM warping...
much better than hard on imo
for real, heart on was like 5 songs grafted together, this has a bit more of structure to it
This song is so my beat! Well...
