Time, Love, Dreams and Death - all four chapters have been unveiled. Now begins the true End of an Empire.
After a year long production cycle, Celldweller has been slowly revealing bits and pieces of his third full length, studio artist album, which showcases a return to the more formative complex electronic and heavy metal elements that defined the unique hybrid that is Celldweller. Never one to rest on his laurels, Klayton raises the bar with a brand new level of production unheard of by most producers, fusing analog and digital to create something completely out of this world.
From tracks like “Good L_ck (Yo_’re F_cked)” which sound like something straight out of a neo-futuristic punk rock dive bar, to the soft and somber “Just Like You” that swells with acoustic guitars, modular synths and melodic vocals into an epic cinematic ballad. Every track brings something completely unique yet distinctly Celldweller to the table. Equal parts score and soundtrack to a science fiction movie that hasn’t been created yet, this album delivers an unparalleled experience that transports each listener to their own little world inhabited by all of the iconic characters presented throughout the chapter cycle leading up to the release of the final album.

I heard this the first time this 4th of July. I was on my way back from my family, driving a fastlane in a large city. There were so many fireworks the air was foggy with smoky haze with multiple, repeated colorful explosions. I was going down that highway like it was Gran Turismo.

It's so underrated.
Celldweller is hit or miss for me, the ones I do like I enjoy thoroughly, the ones I don't like I just can't get into. I'm very much into EDM and Breaking Benjamin. To me it feels like those two styles met and made a baby and this is what popped out. Amazing stuff overall.

I don't get some of his fans. First its "too much dubstep" and now its "you can do better" or "too much electronic". Make up your damn minds and appreciate the stuff he releases, the more you dwell on his old stuff, the less you'll appreciate his new stuff.

First time hearing I was like "meh, weird progression, next one." - but it's one of the rare songs, that grew on me the more I heard it. Now I frickin love the song, especially the refrain, and it is a real earworm for me.

I've listened to this song off and on since its release. Any time I listened to this song, I would attach it to Praedyth from Destiny 1. It just fit so perfectly. He was lost to time in the Vault of Glass. Now VoG is being re-released in Destiny 2 in 6 hours, and I come back to reminisce.

Man... I miss something like Subkulture. Or one more reason. I liked WUABS album, but so far this one, sounds very electronic, little lyrics variety, also 3 instrumentals, only 2 real songs. Of course this is just a little part of this whole album, End of an Empire starts really heavy "End of CIVILIZATION!" but then that heaviness dies off. And Lost in Time chorus is awesome, but Klay's voice is basically always enhanced, and lyrics are sparse. Not complaining, but I'm wondering, will we get a something similar to older stuff...
You're wondering, but it sounds like you're complaining. :P Just sit back and enjoy the new stuff... and it's best not to expect Klayton to go back to his roots, because he is always evolving his sound. Regardless, there are still elements that are definitely his style. For me, this album is turning out to be his best work yet!

Bob Dweller Well, I don't want him to go oldschool, but I meant "heaviness". Klays screaming sounds really good. So a song or two with this agressive vibe would be a killer adding his new skills he got during the years with electronics. :)
The more you dwell on his old work the more you'll drift away from his music. He seems like the type that keeps trying to improve in his own way. I'm pretty sure if he impressed you before he'll do so again in the future, just give it some time if this isn't what you wanted.
