I liked the progression of this song a lot. Been holding out for the whole end of an empire album before buying, but I've been listening on here the whole time and the second that thing drops I'm buying it. So many good tracks and Klayton's production is sublime.

I'm loving how diverse the audience is when it comes to Celldwellers music. On one of the other songs people will be like "This is literally the best thing since sliced bread" but on stuff like this they'll say "This is weak", "this isn't what I wish it could be." Or vice versa. I guess that is the huge issue when you mix literally a billion different sounds, genres and stuff together. I'm glad Klayton makes what he feels like making because by god even his own followers sometimes are impossible to please.
Everything about this song is so good - melody, genre, lyrics! So my conclusion? Klayton is not human, he already surpassed human boundaries with this song.

In my humble opinion, New Elysium is what the entirety of End of an Empire has been leading up to. It is a marriage of Klayton's original, rock/metal focused album and his newer techno stuff, with the classic Klayton vibe of endings, beginnings, religion and the fact the human race is fucking with itself. In summary, it's an absolutely beautiful piece of music, and would be worthy of awards if anyone actually knew Celldweller existed.

Switchback Designs as i always say to my friends when i link them Celldwellers songs: Be patient with the song. you really just gotta wait and let the magic of his song grip your brain till you're addicted to it and can understand why every beat and note is there. then you won't have any reason to complain because you understand it. i had the same issue with 'End of an empire' it was too long, but the beats and the lyrics made every second worth listening to

Many of us said that they expected something. As for me, I didn't expect anything, because it's Klayton of Celldweller who always jumps himself and exceeds any possible expectations. I don't know how anyone sees any last firstborns here, or club music, or any trans or whatever. I'm not judging anyone, btw, I just don't go into comparing. It's a damn good track, I'm in love with it! And of course it reminds of some other Klayton's work, because, well, Klayton did it :) He has his own recognizable style of making music, and I find it really really awesome \m/

@@umbertodeclemente I found Celldweller in like '05 through NFS Most Wanted (6 years old at the time) but actually got into his music just after Chapter 1 of EOAE (Time) was released in 2014-15. In 2014 I'd find myself playing the game just to hear the songs, and now here I am as a metalhead because of Celldweller. Hip-hop and pop just didn't click for me either so that helped.
This is a such a good track for so many reasons. It incorporates almost all the styles I love in Klayton's past work and is super dynamic. I think this is his best song since The Last Firstborn in terms of diversity and progression - which is the song that hooked me on Celldweller way back in the day. Hopefully more like it to come!

This is going on the Catalyst Run soundtrack... Catalyst Run of the game I’ve been developing for a while now. A game that won’t be ready to play for another 50+ years. But it’ll be pretty damn good when it is.
One of my favorite things is when TH-cam comment sections agree that the music is good, maybe discuss similar artists, and then get on with their lives without arguing with people they've never met and likely never will. It's nice. This TH-cam section failed. Anyways, it's a great song!
Listening back to this, I now realize why I got into modern Djent. Much of this era Celldweller had some amazing Djent elements that proceeded current Djent trends.

Catalyst Run of the game I’ve been developing for a while now.
A game that won’t be ready to play for another 50+ years. But it’ll be pretty damn good when it is.
By far my favorite song off of this album so far, going to be jamming out to this song for a loooong time.
One of my favorite things is when TH-cam comment sections agree that the music is good, maybe discuss similar artists, and then get on with their lives without arguing with people they've never met and likely never will. It's nice.

Listening back to this, I now realize why I got into modern Djent. Much of this era Celldweller had some amazing Djent elements that proceeded current Djent trends.
This is a badass track, but I'm really looking forward to hearing "Precious One".
Klayton, I really, really like this piece. It means a lot as far as a nation goes, such a shame that we've forgotten just about everything.

If I could make an even more obscure reference, this would also go perfectly with Deathrow on the original xbox. Such an underrated future-sport game. Rocket League is somewhat of a spiritual successor I guess.

*Theme Analysis*
In Greek mythology the Elysian Fields are the resting place of dead heroes. You might think this is paradise, but it's not ; the heroes are dead, they can longer protect the people. Heroes, being ideals, symbolize the death of progress in humanity by dying. Thus from a mythological perspective this is bad news for the world!!
In the same mythology however, a return of the Age of Heroes is being prophesised. It seems the theme of New Elysium is just that, the abolishing of the old stagnant empire and the setting up of a new, a continuation of the old yet also one of order, so that the dead light of the heroes might live again. This concept is the blueprint of the whole theme surrounding the myth of the old king Osiris and the new king Horus, who becomes a great ruler by defeating the destructive entropy, Set. Horus doesnt kill Set but rather makes him the servant of the half-dead Osiris. Through Horus, now Osiris lives again.
