Need more information please! I love the "suedy" Pen Landing Pad. When I put "Shinari Leather "Pen Landing Pad" I don't find it - just leather goods that have mazda leather goods! And do you have a video on glass pens? I've never seen one that has a broad or 1.5 wide nib I'm a newbie to Fountain Pens!) and I would love to know more about them and where to get them...Thanks - Your videos are wonderful!

That’s why the videos are so appreciated. The details of the pens, paper, and ink bottle designs, and thoughtfulness of design and functional is so impressive. Thought big bear spouting water was pretty unique too. Ohhh-are you going to tell us about the nickname-inky stinky?

Your videos always make me smile - you introduce items I don't normally see elsewhere and nearly all have a "cool factor" or are very utile - like that leather pen rest/tray! Ink stains would only add unique character to it over time. :-) I like "DeepAQua's" blotting papers, but would hesitate to mess them up with real ink spills!
Yes I agree-ink stains would be cool hahaha! I have so much of her blotting paper but sometimes I do hesitate to use it and use my plain stuff. Glad I make you smile-thanks!
Regarding the shapeshifting pen: I was going to bring up the fact it was reminiscent of the Issey Miyake bags. I thought I finally had something nifty to add to the conversation…but you already knew what was up. You’re just too cool. I love it! 😉 By the way, I appreciate your continued generosity! Isn't that funny? We all want the stuff that is harder to get. There is definitely a group of (mainly men) here in Japan that really revere high end Western pens. Glad you found it interesting Heidi!
CY has been on a US tour. He was in Houston grinding nibs for Dromgooles, in Goulet’s podcast in Virginia then Nee York and back out to San Francisco! Thanks for another great video! Always love the extra stuff like the food and city clips. Its almost as if we took the trip with you.
Thanks for uploading this nice video. I was particularly interested in the Nagazawa pen store. Unfortunately, when I visited my son who used to live and work in Osaka (several years ago) I did not know about the shop and missed out on the experience! He has since moved to the US, so it will be some time probably before I manage to get a trip out to Osaka and remedy this lapse! I was also intrigued by the Pilot EF pen you bought: this must write exceedingly fine. As a 'Western writer' the thinnest Japanese nib I use is a Platinum soft fine, which is great for correcting typed up manuscripts and similar. The EF Pilot looks gorgeous, so perhaps I should take the plunge and get one.
Yes, for fine writing, I enjoy a Japanese EF (when I write really small). The weird thing is I enjoy just about every width of nib except obliques! I also like Platinum’s EF but it’s a nail-very hard (which I enjoy on occasion hahaha!). Hopefully you can make it out here one day soon!
Hey Inky my family is going to Japan around christmas time, is there any brick and mortar FP stores you can recommed that sell tono & lims (especially shokido) or taiwanese inks (ink institute, lennon tool bar ect)? Once again, thanks for the video 💖
For Tono & Lims-Okamotoya. For Taiwanese inks-Eslite (Taiwan company). All I’ve seen of Shokido is at shows. We end up having shows about every other month so you may want to check for that. (Depending on when you come in December-there may be a Wagner show!)

@@InkyRocks how long before I noticed the post. I just filled one of those Tomoe River notebooks with daily journal entries and started on a second. Can't find them for sale over here in the states at any of the places I shop, so I think you were very lucky.

They should be coming back out with the Sanzen TR paper soon. Hopefully you can get one of those. Most people don't really see a difference ( I felt some slight ones) and some like it better. I think Sanzen also did some further tweaks to their process.
Great you found something that works for you. I found the Kakimori nib to be best for swatching-I couldn’t control the width very well and it was a bit too imprecise for me. It’s definitely the winner on being less breakable for sure!
I’m so upset that your videos never end up in my feed anymore. What gives? YT needs to get their act together. I LOVE all the cute stationery in Japan. Those sorts of things are so difficult to come across in the US, especially those blotting papers. I’ve never seen them before.
I'm not a demo pen person, but I love the idea of using the word "skeleton " I'm assuming that it translates closer to "girders " and not human skeleton. Japanese speakers confirm or deny this please?
Ugh my never ending debate between just adoring everything about Japanese pens except the nib size, because I love colored/ shading inks and European nibs are bigger but the QC isn't as good. What I'm saying is I have too many pens.
Hahaha! Actually when I want a fat nib I just get a zoom or B (you can get BB or C on some pens) and just get it stubbed. There is no such thing as too many.

I'm not a demo pen person, but I love the idea of using the word "skeleton " I'm assuming that it translates closer to "girders " and not human skeleton. Japanese speakers confirm or deny this please?
It’s a “borrowed” word and spelled in katakana.

Ugh my never ending debate between just adoring everything about Japanese pens except the nib size, because I love colored/ shading inks and European nibs are bigger but the QC isn't as good. What I'm saying is I have too many pens.
Hahaha! Actually when I want a fat nib I just get a zoom or B (you can get BB or C on some pens) and just get it stubbed. There is no such thing as too many.
