@MINDKILLERR I have quite a few times and that’s torque bud. I just find the whole package something to be desired. The interior is hideous, the exterior looks like a generic drawing done by a child and again, speed and torque I can’t dispute but it’s the overall experience of the drive that leaves you underwhelmed. There’s no soul.

@Jonas Jonaitis actually, with highschool-level math skills, you will determine that the Model S Plaid, with a peak power output of 750kW and a usable battery capacity of 95kWh, can operate at full power for approximately 0.1267 hours, or 7 minutes and 36 seconds.
Even if the powertrain was only 75% efficient (and it is likely much more efficient than that, even at full power), the Plaid would still last 5 minutes and 42 seconds at full power.

I'm a railway engineer (with automotive background) and we have been running AC induction traction systems on the railway for a few decades now. We don't have the limitations of batteries though as most are powered from an overhead line or 3rd rail.
Anyway I've worked on 20+ fleet types with electric traction and not one has any sort of multiple ratio transmission. Just one gear. That includes a British class 373 (AKA Eurostar) which has 12 AC induction traction motors each just over a megawatt each (they're huge) which will haul a 750 tonne train north of 209mph from a standing start on the one ratio.
