Hey, nice mini “review”! I watched this and your 2004 review (fantastic video), and in this little review you squeezed in more info and fun facts than most regular full reviews I see. Good to see someone doing these older cars justice!
I have a 2002 V6 Limited as my trusty daily driver, it has a whole bunch of suspension mods and some creature comforts to keep it up with the times. I love it more than any other SUV I have tried. Those LED tail lights were a must, so I had to get them onto my car as well.

Rear Heat button is basically an "on" button which activates the control panel in the 3rd row. After it's on, you can turn on the fan back there. If you don't turn it on, turning that 3rd row fan knob won't do anything.

Great review Bern. I have an '06 Hybrid Limited and have loved it ever since I bought it 6 years ago. It currently has 224000 kms (140000 miles) on it and has served me very well. I'm thinking of getting a newer one only because the body is starting to rust (lots of road salt here in Ottawa, Canada) despite having it oil sprayed/rust proofed yearly since I've owned it. I'm a fan of the CVT/hybrid combo... very responsive - especially when passing and so smooth. No jerky upshifts/downshifts. My next vehicle will definitely be a Highlander Hybrid.

I have an 06 with 300k miles on it. Only ever had to do the timing belt every 90k miles, tires, brakes and oil changes. It's been up and down the rocky mountains hundreds of times through horrid snowstorms, cruised through some gnarly jeep trails in moab, trudged through 4 feet of snow going up a steep ski hill and all the way across the country dozens of times. Thanks for this review. After months of searching and looking I got a 2008 hybrid with relatively low miles. Everything you said is spot on and yours is one of the few reviews of this era of hybrid. (I realize 2008 is a new model from 2006 but im guessing a lot of the hybrid stuff was similar, like going from gen2 prius to gen3 prius). The brake feel is interesting, there are some videos on here about some of these having an ABS issue. Mine does seem a bit odd even compared to my Prius. The B mode should very distinctly feel different, it should feel kind of like '1' or '2' in an ordinary transmission.

When using the 3rd row you need to move the 2nd row seats forwards to balance the leg room between the 2nd and 3rd rows (I typically move the 1st row forwards a bit too to share leg room between all 3 rows).
The 2nd row seats can move forwards/backwards as well as tilt.
The 3rd row seats can also tilt but don't move forward/backwards.
I find there is enough leg room (just) for 7 grown-ups to use all 3 rows (with smaller people in the 3rd row).
Personally I think this is an awesome car (2006 Highlander Hybrid Limited).

I own a 2006 Toyota Highlander hybrid. Over the years beside normal maintenance items such as brakes the SVU required replacement of all 4 power window regulators & motors, 2 radiators, radiator fan assembly & frame, climate control system, passenger side taillight assembly, ac/heater blower motor & the most expensive being 2 brake actuator replacements at more than $2,400 each. The brake actuators are only on the hybrid version and eliminated any cost savings thru less fuel consumption for being a hybrid and then some. Also, the brake actuators replacement left the vehicle at the Toyota dealers' shop for a few days resulting in rental car costs. I will never get a hybrid again.
