I have two question. A friend mine suggested that I try Rakit DIY kits. I completed the Tari Punk and the Baby 8. I noticed that a few of the vertical resistors seem to be mounted with the color stripes in, what I would call opposite direction. Do resistors have to be mounted in a certain direction according to the instruction manual? Also could I get a close up photo on the rail ports and jumper cables. I'm not too sure if each jumper cable needs to be 1 to 1 or in different order to receive different audio shapes. Thank you I love these DIY kits. It's a great way to start as a begginer.
Resistors with two leads can be mounted either way around. There are special cases that have more leads. (Resistor networks, trimmers, etc) and I think the diagram you're looking for is this one? www.rakits.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/baby8-apc-connector.jpg
@@Rakit_kitsTeam, Thank again for another quick response I truly appreciate It. Yes this is the photo I was look for. Also, can I put a simple on/off switch to the speaker Out that came with the kit? Sometime I use the 3.5mm Out to play thru my studio monitors.
I purchased both these kits however, I did not receive the connector to connect the CV and gate. Do you have a part number, name or description as to what i need?
It's a six way 2.54mm pitch female header, the cables are typically referred to as breadboard jumper cables or just jumper cables. We sell the 'connector kit' as an option. Maybe we should sell the lot as a bundle :)
Example of female header that can be cut to size www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-X-Set-2-54mm-Breakaway-PCB-40-Pin-Male-Female-Header-Connector-Arduino-Headers/263091291344?epid=24008870664&hash=item3d417684d0:g:mWoAAOSw4KhZa2Al
@@Rakit_kits thank you so much for a quick response, I really appreciate it. I just finished the baby 8 today and as this being only my second build kit I realized there is no way to enjoy them without the connectors. I think making it a bundle is a great idea. Thank you for the description of the connector. I would purchase them through you guys except the sequencer took almost a month to get to me in the states. Any suggestions on my next build?
@@haroldpalmer3245 Well, my current favourites are the Drum, Metal and Mixer kits. Modular Addict recently got some in stock modularaddict.com/rakit-drumsynth-kit if that's any closer to home :) There is also a kit called the bastl kastl which is good fun.
People have told me it works well with the bastl kastl, Gakken SX150 (with mods) and the lushOne synth which are all relatively inexpensive. It works nicely with our drum synth and more expensive systems too! Basically it should work with anything that accepts 0 to 5V input control voltages.
Where can I find the APC and baby eight
is there a way to play something else therough this? like using a keyboard or guitar as a vc
Love it!

@@kurthendrix7324 Yea, a switch between the board and the speaker should work fine. 👍
@@Rakit_kits Thanks again!

Any other little and cheap synth with which he(Baby8) has good synergy? Apart from Monotron, the kits that you sell ...? Good Kits!: D

Does anyone have the schematic for this exact model of the Atari Punk Console?
I built this cheap voice changer kit, which I used with my APC, it worked great, but the recording not so
unavailable for months ;(
rakit (indonesian) = raft. nice..
The APC WILL NEVER SOUND GOOD. I DESPISE IT. The Baby 8 is very cute, however pwm, is a fun feature.
Square wave is an acquired euphony, for sure. I love PWM through state variable filters, it keeps it from turning your ear sour :)
