@@dylanbell268 look up Unreal Cinema. He announced the project a couple months ago. He’s got approval from Disney and honestly the progress videos look amazing
Revan’s true birth name was indeed never revealed anywhere in Star Wars lore. This reminds me of the Spartacus TV series. Spartacus says, in several episodes, “That is not my name.” but is told by both friends and enemies that his original name doesn’t matter, to anyone, Spartacus is the only name that he will ever be known as or remembered by. And his real name is never revealed to the viewer. “Revan… that is not my name.”
that is different though, as Revan could be either male or female depending on player choice, having a good name that would fit both genders might be hard, its also why in later installments Revan always wears a mask. Spartacus on the other hand is based of a historical character which his true name has been lost to history, we simply don't know his real name, if we did, it would have been in the series/movies/etc.
@@papab34r : I bet Revan’s real, original name was something terrible like Nigel (Nigella), or Norbert (Nora). That would make it very understandable that he/she preferred to be known as ‘The Revanchist Leader’, ‘The Revanchist’, ‘Darth Revan’, and finally just ‘Revan’. Afterwards, he and Alek (Malak) have a little sit-down and Malak is like "Boss, we really need to come up with a better name for you, nobody is going to be inspired by or afraid of the"great Jedi Knight Bob!"
Bonus Useless Fact: After Darth Bandon was killed by Revan, his body was retrieved by Sith loyalists who preserved his head through alchemy to where they attempted to communicate with his spirit and form a short lived cult around him. It was used as somewhat of an antiquity throughout the centuries until eventually being displayed in an Alderaanian Museum in the years leading up the war between the Republic and Vitiate's Empire... I'm not fucking kidding.
There is still something truly huge about Trask Ulgo. He's from House Ulgo, an Alderaanian royal family that was well known for its discipline, duty, and military service. However, House Ulgo basically started a massive civil war on Alderaan and got destroyed.
The Bounty Hunter story even has you hunt down Darth Bandon's head! It's GREAT!! It took me admittedly too long to get it, until the Ulgo house member talked about his ancestor who was killed by Darth Bandon on a Republic cruiser and I was like "Hey wait"

Every single character with a last name ties into someone in the movies...something I Learned from a run-in with a former coder for Obsidian when I was in school
@@michaelandreipalon359 no they weren't. All of us in the front were big star wars people...and EAW was still big at the time...it's where I learned to make my own mods.
I think that's sad, really. It's one thing to use references as nods, sparingly. But the games go out of their way to add in everyone in one way or another: Fett, Dodonna, Calrissian, Fortuna... Makes the galaxy feel a lot smaller and way less diverse.
4:10 I don't think this is cut content, as I remember playing through the game and meeting deadeye Duncan on Manaan, and giving him the name mysterious stranger (and having the option to not give it to him) Edit: I played on mobile, and it isn't available on console without a restoration mod. So it was cut content.
My sister did that option in her original playthrough of a dark side Revan way back when, meaning that the cut content of redeeming Fem-Revan is not actually cut from the game, it's just very rare.
“Evil Bastila is hot, and you can’t tell me otherwise.” That is indeed useless information, but it’s definitely 100% correct. Same with the Master Vrook info.
KotOR1: If you go to the dark side, your character gets new, evil, underwear instead of what they started the game with. And if you equip then unequip dark side robes from Bastila, she gets a different outfit too (the one that was used while she was imprisoned by the Vulkars).
Remember that Evil Yoda thing? They reused the concept behind the "Mentor was the BBEG all along" in another game a few years later (not revealing which one because the concept alone is a goddamned spoiler)…and no, I'm not referring to SWTOR's class stories (of which 3 have that same trope).
I agree that Vrook is the most disagreeable character. He's the only returning character in KotOR 2 that elicited an "ugh... him again..." response from me.
My friend I don't consider this a useless video or rubbish at all. This was like all your other videos very informative, fascinating and amazing. Like I've told you many times my friend your videos always expand my limited knowledge of the Star Wars universe. My friend please send me a reply on this if you can. Today's episode of the Bad Batch was a lot better than last weeks filler episode. Rex contacts the Squad to rescue a Clone Commando which is Gregor on an Imperial installation, we see other Clone Commandos and new trooper armor on soldiers which is the future Stormtroopers. Gregor tells them their the Clones replacements since the Empire doesn't want to use Clones anymore and they ended their contract with the Kaminoans. Lama Su wanted to evacuate Kamino but Admiral Rampart found out about it and to make it worse Hunter got captured while saving Gregor. The last 2 episodes of the season will probably finish Crosshair's story arc since he was happy to see Hunter locked up. Let me know what you thought of it
Great video. Several unrelated observations: 1. I didn't think that Bastila was supposed to be Vima Sunrider or that Vima could use battle meditation (I don't remember her using it in the Tales of the Jedi comics, but it's been some time since I last read through those). I thought that Bastila was supposed to be Nomi Sunrider (Vima's mother). Granted, Revan has some definite similarities to Ulic Qel-Droma, and he trained Vima in the comics. So, it could be that Vima was going to be Bastila instead of Nomi. 2. Deadeye Duncan surviving Taris and showing up on Manaan can actually be restored to KotOR with a mod. It doesn't really add much, but it is a fun addition. 3. From other fan stuff I've seen, it would not appear that this is a common opinion. However, I actually really like Vrook Lamar as a character. He very openly dislikes Revan and Meetra, so he isn't very nice when the player interacts with him in either game. He also seems arrogant. That said I still think he's an interesting character (in all fairness; I've always liked characters who were decent in general, but disliked the protagonist in particular like Major Glen Talbot and Senator Harrington Byrd from Marvel Comics). However, I totally accept that this is not remotely a common opinion and that most fans utterly loathe Vrook.
I remember the first time I played KOTOR, the New Jedi Order series of novels was in the middle of it's narrative, and I had been reading the entire series, as I found the Vong to be interesting, even if many of the novels in that very long series were a bit of a chore to finish... Anyway, point being when Canderous dropped the tidbit of info about running into a Vong scout ship, I thought that was a really cool bit of overlap. Star Wars EU stuff from the early 2000s all the way until Disney bought it was really focusing in on connecting the various different eras of Star Wars fiction and connecting the games to the novels to the comics to the movies. It's a bloody shame that all of this was just abandoned.
For the last names of star wars characters there is also Organa. You can find this whole doing Javyars bounties because one of the bounty hunters killed someone with this last name.
In terms of crunch being something that would "cause an uproar nowadays"; it would have caused an even bigger uproar in those days if it was public knowledge. Back then the games industry had not yet brutalised gamers into addiction to console games and inspiring zealous fandoms, and so there would likely have been much fewer people willing to go to bat for the developer. It's not a case of gamers these days being more outraged about crunch than they were back then, it's that gamers these days actually KNOW that it is happening as opposed to back then.
Add in the fact that KotOR was one of the games that helped establish consumer relations with these products as they are today. I agree with you, not enough people would find working conditions in game studios irksome and immoral, especially when you consider audiences get all finicky when games get postponed and shit.
man now i want the remake to come out. And i lowkey want to replay it but mod it with a restored content mod and maybe some mods that give it some stuff from K2 (like the force powers)
I can’t see the video description very well on mobile, but would be good to credit Unreal Cinema for the shots of both Bastila and Revan on Dantooine 👍🏻 Cool video!
In Star Wars: The Old Republic, the smuggler class has a mission where he has to deliver the head of Darth Bandon to House Ulgo on Alderaan. Darth Bandon being the sith who kills Trask Ulgo at the beginning of the game.
4:10 See, I remember this happening to me on one of my playthroughs. I met Duncan on Mannan and let him take the moniker of Mysterious Stranger, I promise.
I knew Candorus met something really crazy in that story and after all these years it always stuck with me he's one of my all time favorite characters but to now make that connection is mind blowing he really is boss a 🤣
Darth Malak was the original "meat bag". Darth Malak lost his lower jaw when Revan cut it off in Malak's first failed attempt to take over as Sith Master when he challenged him to a duel, so he had to resort to the coward's approach and blast him with lasers, which is what kickstarts the game.
I’m struggling to believe Revan’s name came from a d&d character. I always thought it had come from the French ‘Revanche’ (cf. revanchist), a political term for French nationalists wanting revenge on Germany for annexing Alsace. The parallels with the Republic and the Mandalorians are too big to be coincidental.
If Master Vrook is the biggest a****** in Star Wars, Griff would be the biggest c***. One of KOTOR's great underrated achievements was giving us two supporting characters with no redeeming values. Last night my game had a glitch and I was unable to rescue Griff permanently...the galaxy is far better for this. Headcannon: Master Vrook is a secret Sith recruiter. If it were possible I would have loved to have kidnapped him and stranded him at the Academy at Korriban.
P.S.- I still think KOTOR 2 is just as awesome as KOTOR 1, I think it actually compliments it and enhances Revan's character with Kreia's stories of him.
Sooo, I know I'm late to the game- but I specifically watched this video and avoided the KOTOR 2 one because I haven't finished KOTOR 2 yet. Just started playing. But now the plot twist has been spoiled for me. The first one had been spoiled for me for years, cause - well, I mean it's hard to avoid that one as a star wars fan. But I figured I would be safe from KOTOR 2 spoilers watching the KOTOR 1 video. Guess I was wrong 😞 Good info though, thanks for sharing.
It’s still worth playing and it’s not the big twist, it’s almost a half twist that and she will tell you about it with a cut scene half way through the game. The real twist is so much cooler.
Malak's name is pronounced (Written in phonetics) Skwin-Car-Jess-im-us Or instead of car, it could be Qwaa like the French word: Porqua? (Why) Or how one says choir, with the phonetics sound the same as qu. So Skwin-Qwaa-Jess-im-us.
6:04: And don't piss off a girl named Willow, lest she either flays you alive or attacks you with spiky plants... and even if she's not a witch, she's gonna hurt you bad with punches and kicks, maybe even pepper spray and harsh words. 7:00: ...You didn't show the sad end to the rest of that story. 7:50: Shame this didn't come to pass in the final version. 10:13: Even if it does sound like a joke, yeah, that is a travesty, since the VA isn't credited for his work.
The deadeye Duncan thing isn’t cut content you just have to beat bendak star killer and have Carth and Canderous with you when you travel to manaan as your 2nd or 3rd planet and he’ll meet you outside the hangar

The lure of more information is difficult to resist... I fear this quest to find more useless trivia could lead you down an all too familiar path.
Ok, ok, you finally wore me down and earned my subscribe. How did you ever discover my weakness for this format? 😁
love the KOTOR cantina backround music
This was very fun
Glad you enjoyed it, Alex!
1:46 I believe the number 47 might actually be a reference to Agent 47 from Hitman, since hk-47 is also an assassin.
Brilliant video. I need more videos like this.
Keep an eye out for more!
That deadeye Duncan thing wasn't cut I remember doing that on the Xbox. I even got light side points for it
I didn’t know some of these! Love the video!
Fun right!
I don't know if I would classify Kreia as "the main antagonist all along" as she genuinely was attempting to help you grow stronger.
From a certain point of view, so was Palpatine. Does that get the point across? XD
For the last names of star wars characters there is also Organa. You can find this whole doing Javyars bounties because one of the bounty hunters killed someone with this last name.
Dude! This is the opposite of useless! I loved learning there omg!
*happiness noises*
Ha, bastila is just hot, but evil one, definitely
Evil Bastila is just... phwoar
Loved this!
Yaaay!!
* reads title *
Me: I feel betrayed. 🧐🧐
Was there anything in this video you found... useful? :O
Yes, I need to agree about Dark Bastila, though Revan is hotter
How can Revan be hot when you can’t see his face?
*Personality bro*
Hey 100%, I have a video idea. What about 'What if Revan returned'?
Everyone cries Revan, why no Exar???
Thanks for the suggestion!
@@100StarWars No problem and maybe do Exar later on.
@@TruetoCaesar Exar does return. The story of his return was actually conceived of before the original story of his first run
I'd also suggest the HK name is nod to the Terminator franchise where they have HK hunter killer droids.
Indeed!
Doesn't Drew Karpyshyn like to make everything about him, though?
I love the one about evil bastilla being hot that is the most useless fact on this video but also like super true
Trask Ulgo was commemorated in SWTOR.
I can’t see the video description very well on mobile, but would be good to credit Unreal Cinema for the shots of both Bastila and Revan on Dantooine 👍🏻 Cool video!
Unreal is a friend of mine, he's credited don't worry haha
@@100StarWars I thought so! Just wanted to make sure lol. Keep up the cool videos! 👍🏻👍🏻
Very weird as other people have said the same thing. But every source says this was cut from the final build.
K.O.T.O.R IS LEGENDARY I STILL HAVE IT INSTALLED IN AND WILL NEVER REMOVE IT EVER!!!
Wow...my first character on KotOR and later SWTOR was Saereth - I had no clue it was a one-time name for Bastilla (my toon was male)! Neat 😁
What a cool coincidence!
“Never trust a girl named Selene”
Where my WOT fans at?
Fantastic video!
Started playing KOTOR for first time and it’s so fun
I expect no less than 15 minutes of fascinating information about KOTOR 2.
I'm... so sorry
@@100StarWars Eh you're fine. And your voice is good, too. You'd make a good Jedi... or possibly Sith.
Thats ironic because Revan is also called the Revanchist
If Master Vrook is the biggest a****** in Star Wars, Griff would be the biggest c***. One of KOTOR's great underrated achievements was giving us two supporting characters with no redeeming values. Last night my game had a glitch and I was unable to rescue Griff permanently...the galaxy is far better for this.
Headcannon: Master Vrook is a secret Sith recruiter. If it were possible I would have loved to have kidnapped him and stranded him at the Academy at Korriban.
9:30 That's why they sound so similar!? I did not know
4:47, I thought Vong ships can't go to hyperspace. I never read the books, but isn't their whole deal that they can only travel in sublight?
more of this please!!!
Guess I was wrong 😞
Good info though, thanks for sharing.
It’s still worth playing and it’s not the big twist, it’s almost a half twist that and she will tell you about it with a cut scene half way through the game. The real twist is so much cooler.
@@aleczanderruggles7419 You, friend, just made my day.
Thanks for letting me know :)
A masterpiece
"10 minutes of useless information about knights of the old republic"
Well colour me intrigued
Was it satisfying Mr Irish Boi?
@@100StarWars Oh yes KOTR has always been top tier in terms of star wars
Malak's name is pronounced
(Written in phonetics)
Skwin-Car-Jess-im-us
Or instead of car, it could be Qwaa like the French word:
Porqua? (Why)
Or how one says choir, with the phonetics sound the same as qu.
So Skwin-Qwaa-Jess-im-us.
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one
Kreia was originally planned to have a mechanical hand, which is seen on the game’s box art.
No it's just a mirrored image. Hence the other hand being absent.
9:19 so that’s why Numa and Mission sound similar!
The deadeye Duncan thing isn’t cut content you just have to beat bendak star killer and have Carth and Canderous with you when you travel to manaan as your 2nd or 3rd planet and he’ll meet you outside the hangar
It is cut content.
@@100StarWars no it’s not I’ve had it happen on my original Xbox several times
1:26: I think it's pronounced "skwin-kwar-jesimoos", like some Roman names.
I can pronounce it hahaha, I just thought I'd let the audience try instead of having me do it for them ;)
what is that animation from at 6:31 to 6:38 ?
Great video, I new about the mask but didn't know the Mandalorian woman was standing against the others
A lot of people actually think it's Mandalore's own mask. Even the Revan fanboys don't know Revan trivia!
