    Okay that Troll Finger image was cool, especially with the music you are playing while watching. That red jacket really makes you stand out, maybe a more neutral color or camo jacket would make you stand out less when on private property or an maybe an invisibility cloak hahaha

    Trøllkonufingur is basically translated into The Witches Finger, as Trøllkonu is the female version of a troldmand (Danish), which is a wizard in English.

    There is an island in Wales called Skomer where you can see a lot of puffins. May be easier to get there than to Iceland or the Faroe Islands....

    At about 10:25 the fog shrouding the island ? And the horizon being broken by the dark water and grey sky appeared in the video like it would make a great minimalist type shot but I'm not Thomas Heaton so what do I know. This series has been great and I even did research on where the islands are located, their way of making a living and their significance in world politics. Looking forward to your thoughts about your trip in tomorrow's episode.

    Brendan, Come to Scotland and off the coast of Anstruther you can go to the Isle of May. Puffins galore! £25 per person and you are on the island for 2 and a half hours. Day two travel up to Glencoe which is about 100 miles from Anstruther.

    Hi Brendan. I just saw this video (I'm late, I know) and I too had problems in that same location with a guy. I was flying the drone and he stopped his truck next to me and told me to stop, arguing that all that was private land. Later in the day I was in a different place and here he comes again, completely pissed that he had warned me before and so on. I just told him I didn't know ALL THAT LAND was his own and just went away. Oh well. I even talked to him for a little while and asked him what was the problem and he was pretty clear that it was all about the tourism and the amount of people visiting the area.

    I've really enjoyed the Faroe series Brendan. Thank you for the continued efforts. On another note, I have no issue with people charging photogs or anyone else to hike/cross their land. If Photogs are making money off of someone's land, then why can't the landowner get a cut of it? Eventually prices will get figured out, and it will be fair for everyone. Land owners that charge too much now will see less foot traffic and thus perhaps they will charge less in the future.

    • @paulbarnard5267
      @paulbarnard5267 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps the high prices are to discourage foot traffic...

    Well, if the people Brendan was leading into private place have paid the money for the tour I totally agree, you should pay money to visit their private place. Point is, Brendan use private place to earn the money, so the owner should be involved. There is nothing wrong with that.. Imagine you live there are workshop are coming to your place just because everyone wants to take very same picture :)

    • @BrendanvanSon
      @BrendanvanSon  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't disagree with this comment at all. But, there needs to be some sort of infrastructure around it, or signs saying it's private land. Either way, we have no idea what's private and what's public.

      miyabi timelapse the Farore Islands are old, and a lot has happened through the ages. Some places are privte, where the farmers own the land and the rest is Kings land aka state owned and rented out to farmers for a really small price (so small its not even thought about).

    • @BrendanvanSon
      @BrendanvanSon  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Places like Iceland, actually, almost all the land is private so land owners are mostly just really generous letting all the tourists on the land. I'm not so well versed on the situation in The Faroe Islands.

  • @pawesedrowski6743

    If I were you I would ask the guy that told you to leave where is the fence. If there is no fence how should you know it's private land? I would tell him to f off and call the police if he wants.

    If people want to come to another country, be respectful of the rules in place. Don't like it, go somewhere else. Attitudes where the photographer can go where they want gives the rest of the tourists a bad name.

    It's sad to see how tourism can ruin these places. Look at all those ugly fences, who have been built over the last months holding back the masses trampling these pristine coastlines. The faroes going to be the next iceland or lofoten...
