Im from Sofia and didnt even know this was a thing here, two weeks ago. They need to do a better promotion for those events, cuz this looks really nice and clean.
1- Because weightlifting is NOT that popular, not even World's strongest man, compared to baseball, football, basketball, hockey. 2-it's females. Any female sports is less popular. Look at NBA vs WBNA.
I wouldn't go to see this even if it's free. I'd rather watch 2 crickets fight each other than watch women doing anything.

Great to watch thanks! It must be kinda disheartening to see that some of your competition are opening with lifts so far above yours, but then again I guess to even be part of this list you know you're some of the best in the world. Just crazy the variance within the same weight class.

Why are athletes filmed so poorly at weightlifting championships? The wide shot is great, not too far away, but in the slow motion, they zoom in too close. Why? When Ronaldo scores a goal, I don't want to see his right knee in slow motion, but his entire body from head to toe. What's going on with the directors and cameramen?
Bulgarian culture and tradition looks upon the right knee as sacred

When weightlifting has billions of dollars behind it like soccer has, and the athletes have multimillion dollar contracts per year, there will be a budget for 20 more camera angles. So far I'm impressed there even is decent quality footage for every weight group.
Dont think its about camera number, its pretty static as a sport... i think, as the first comment says, why make me see a slowmo if i cant see the movement in its totality? Whats the purpose of it🤣

I have one question when multiple athletes have the same opening attempt how do the officials decide who will go first.
Thanks for all the footage....what about W+87kg not seen a stitch.
They will post the session eventually but nothing of note went down. Emily Campbell won but the American Mary Lappen did post a higher total. (Americans can't get medals at euros)
None of whom posted totals that would change their OQR.
Thanks for the info...seems to be focused on a select few...perhaps upload a broader amount of footage then go back with targeted indepth etc later?
I get that editing etc is so time consuming and its appreciated that we get to see any of the comp's.

I don’t want to be disrespectful but if I look at her performances objectively there’s a larger chance that she’s NOT going to the Olympics than if she is. Just like with Tian Tao,he most likely isn’t going to get chosen over Li Dayin who has been far more consistent

This was a tremendously talented meet with the judges off kilter. They made a few bad calls and happy on the buzzer. Fortunately they did not effect results.

Why did Giulia start with 83 kg?She could have starded lifting less...

To try and qualify for the Olympics. She needs a heavy snatch to do that, and so instead of taking lighter lifts which won't help her make that total she opted to take three attempts at the weight she might need. Lots of athletes are now starting to do this as we approach the end of qualifying period.
@@WeightliftingHouse Thanks! I should have starded lifting less in order to take confidence, I think this strategy could be dangerous if you are not so "mentally prepared", in case you fail it is really frustrating

How is Mihaela so far ahead of the competition? Is she doing something radically different in training or is it indicative of PED use?
She's not even top 5 in the world. Europe just isnt good at the category

@@guy5140 same here. I'm still not aware of how strict PED use for weightlifitng is and how athletes time to use it. More so, is it the norm to use PEDs in this sport?
@@Archtyle I'm sure there is PED use especially with teams like china and SKorea. However, where its not entirely clear to me is if everyone is using it. Some of the other countries look natural.
