Misery Toadstool Solo in Under Seven Minutes No Cheese | Twitch Highlights

- Welcome to another Don't Starve Together Twitch highlight. Today's fight is from my solo Wurt survival world where I switched to Wolfgang temporarily in order to fight Misery Toadstool. For this fight I used Warly food buffs and volt goat chaud-froid. The combination of these foods used while fighting a wet mob as Wolfgang in mighty form can give a 6x damage modifier. Dark swords are suddenly hitting for 408 damage per swing! In Winter the toadstool cap is always wet so it is the perfect time to fight Toadstool using goat jelly. Let's see how long Misery can last against the power of a fully-boosted Mighty Wolfgang!

Throughout 2019, Klei has released a series of game updates available to all players, under the single thematic focus entitled “Return of Them."
Charlie’s machinations have come to a head as she turns her attention towards the skies - and the mysterious entity that awaits there. Our Survivors will be forced to contend with terrifying monstrosities beyond their comprehension, and yet, there may be a silver lining: their minds and horizons will be expanded under the sublime light of an ancient moon.
Here is an overview of what was added in the first update, Turn of Tides:
Added a new multiplayer-centric boat mechanic, where players can build and deck out a boat for multiple survivors to travel together on
Added a new Seafaring crafting menu
Added the Lunar Island
Added Enlightenment
Added 3 new Lunar Island biomes, along with new creatures, objects, and craftables
Turn of Tides focused primarily on building the fundamental tech and infrastructure for Return of Them. Over the following months more content is expected to be added to both the islands and the sea.
Don't Starve Together is the standalone multiplayer expansion of the uncompromising wilderness survival game, Don't Starve. Now including Reign of Giants; adding new characters, seasons, creatures, biomes, and Giant new challenges to Don’t Starve Together. Cooperate with your friends in a private game, or take your chances with strangers online. Work with other players to survive the harsh environment, or strike out on your own. Do whatever it takes, but most importantly, Don't Starve.

Can we just take a moment to apprecate the sheer amount of prep that went into this?
He's got Bone Armour, so he's killed the Fuelweaver including going through everything that leads up to that
Built the Celestial Portal, switched to Warly and cooked up a shit ton of spiced foods (by the way, I'd never thought of using Powdercakes for that so they last forever, nice touch!)
Also made several sets of Volt Goat Jelly AND Weather Pains, so clearly he has some sustainable way to get Volt Goat horns which is in itself a pain in the ass
Shit ton of Dark Swords, Thulecite Crowns, Magiluminescence
This is a brilliant showcase of the kind of endgame shenanigans you can get up to when you have access to all the best items in the game

Well sure, two people can make preparations much quicker than one!
how much weather pain did he use? i guess weren´t to much 2 or 3, and 2 volt goat food, it is achievable, for me it´s was a perfection, only say (and I am not such a good player to criticize, belt hunger and a thulecite crown could be better)
Warly Seasoning on Powdered Cake is blowing my mind. Definitely saving that one in my memory! :)

Volt goat jelly op but well played you really got the skills to kill him with or without the buffs it's just makes the fight quicker.

To be overprepared for Misery is an accomplishment in and of itself.

Even with a team of players I have yet to take down normal Toadstool! xD Awesome work Jazzy, I took a few notes on how you went about this fight and with any hope I’ll be able get to and beat Toadstool (and a number of other bosses I haven’t fought outside of using console commands to see them in game) at some point! Awesome stuff!
Wow that was awesome! I would have loved to see a health meter but I realize you were streaming so you couldn’t have turned it on
Glermz has pointed out that the health meter does give you an edge in fights like this because you know when he's close to death. So I generally avoid it for streamed boss fights.

@@Defetyre Using other characters is a vanilla mechanic that's standard use, health meter is not?
@@Defetyre You can switch characters at any time after assembling the celestial portal

Just lost to misery. After seeing this I think I'll get some panflutes. The ice-fligos I set up aren't enough on their own.

Imagine ening video about killing one of the hardest bosses with words: "I didn't get the green one"
Milk made hat can make it even faster. Xd it usually takes me around 10 mins to do this fight, but i m on ps4 and swiching items is such a pain.
thats still fast for me to kill misery it takes like 30 mins bc im wortox not wolfgang
how much damage did that wolfgang do with all those damage bonus?(spices,electric, full hunger...)
It was something around 400 per swing.

Thanks for the comment! Basically, Winter is a great time for fighting Toadstool because the cap is practically always wet and susceptible to extra damage from electric attacks. You can also wait for the Toadstool cap to get wet during Spring after enough rain.

I just uploaded my practice recording. I set autumn very short and waited until day 6. But the cap was still white. : (
DST is still like something that is difficult to understand or explain to me. I'll try some more until I can figure it.

I hate that you can’t use weatherpains like this on console, it always targets toadstool :(
You're really good at the game but I feel like you made a very crucial mistake.
Even if he spoils your food you should always carry snacks in your back pocket to maintain mightiness
Yeah that's a good call, I shouldve kept a few snackables on hand to keep my hunger topped off.
Wolfgang requires little skill but like that's the extent of his mechanics
If you play Wolfgang long enough you'll realize that you should always just keep an eye on your hunger and you'll be fine relatively
The key difference between a wigfrid and a wolfgang player is that one will only watch their health (Wigfrid) and only carry pierogies and another will watch all their stats and carry snacks to keep their hunger from dipping below 280-285 (Wolfgang)
That's why I prefer wigfrid, but have a good one jazzy, hope i helped.
What food would you have reccomended for this fight? I was concerned about food in my inventory spoiling.
@@JazzysGames I don't worry about food spoilage as long as I'm not carrying juicy berries
I don't know much about dried kelp fronds but I think that carrots are really good, and regular red berries, other than that... stone fruit isnt terrible, but it rots in 3 days.

my record is 120 hits using dark sword on regular but on miseery is above 300 hits or 60% of morning star

How do you destroy trees with only 3 chops? Eating spiced food will reduce only 50% of chops, so it should be 7 chops to destroy trees.
Glass axe + honey food = 500% chopping efficiency.

Just use roasted potatoes next time. Much better because one roasted potato will heal for 20 and fill you for 40
This was actually done before the Survivors got favorite foods. Cooked potato and tomato restored the exact same amount of hunger, but cooked tomatoes lasted a bit longer.

Sorry you don't like it. This was part of a long-running world and I had already soloed him as Wurt. Really just looking to farm the resources without having to craft a dozen weather pains. Sometimes I like getting creative in these fights but other times I just want to get them done as efficiently as possible.

You say no cheese and yet you use what looks like a cheese (then again I've never fought misery) to get him to ignore you, and also having bone armor kind of takes out the fear of damage in the fight. Again sorry about this but nice job otherwise
Getting free hits is different from using methods that completely stunlock Toad or prevent him from using any of his attacks (and even from spawning Sporecaps).
Once you've killed Toadstool with and without the real cheese methods, you'll appreciate what Jazzy is doing.
