Because, electric cars are still not good enough to replace their gas-powered counterparts and these owners learned the hard way, from their own experience. Growing disparity between the supply and demand of EVs does not uniformly affect all models but most of EVs. We uncover the surprising trends and developments in the world of EVs and how it impcats the EV owners. Is the electric car revolution stalling? Buckle up and explore the reasons why some drivers are ditching their Electric Car. Watch and see if EVs are still the future, or if gas-powered cars are making a comeback!

😊 Hey guys! We created the Chase Car channel to give viewers a broad overview of the upcoming new cars from the top car manufacturers. We are huge fans of pickup trucks of all sizes: compact, mid-size and full-size trucks. So mostly, we will cover new upcoming trucks, but besides that, here you can find a lot of content about new sedans and SUVs too.
The Electric Vehicle wave sooner or later will become huge, so this type of content might appear on this channel from time to time. But as we are still on the way to becoming fully electrical, we mostly cover fossil cars from many amazing brands.

EV incentives are no where near the numbers that ICE vehicles and Big Oil have gotten historically but you're right, ALL incentives should be ended. EVs are strong enough on their own now and don't need them anymore. Maybe legacy ICE makers who make EVs will be needing another couple of bailouts in the next couple of years so the government should be saving their money for that.

Hybrids still produce emissions when they run the goal is to end as much emissions as we can. Hybrids are the answer for the long distance commute. We need Hybrids that can actually plug in and have a decent battery. putting an ICE in a EV and powering it off the ICE is straight up pointless and actively antithetical to the point of EV's. Again Hybrids are best when we can treat them as EV's with an engine as backup. Moving entirely to EV's without a transitional step will make much of this harder without real need.

No. In a lab yes. In the real world people are not plugging in PHEVs the way the manufacturers test them. A mild hybrid in town is best for stop start traffic because it’s lighter. The use case for a PHEV where it beats a mild hybrid or a BEV or something like an Atkinson cycle HEV is extremely narrow. It’s right around the 60 mile pure electric summer or 40 mile pure electric winter range.
      They are heavier.
      They are more complex .

I think the depreciation is one of the biggest problems. I watched another channel where the owner of a Polestar 2 provided an update after 2 years of ownership. The car had already lost 60% of it's value and once the battery warranty expires after 100,000 miles the car will have lost 75% of it's value in less than 3 years, that's pretty wild. However it's understandable people don't want to pay a lot for a car when replacing the battery will cost more than twice the value of the car. Also understandable dealer don't want to sell used EVs out of warranty as they have to provide some warranty and they could end up losing a lot of money.

I bought the Tesla for local driving and I slow charge it at home each night. I also live in TN so it does not get crazy cold and power is cheap. It costs 2.8 cents per mile to drive the Tesla Y. It cost 13.3 cents per mile to drive my Camry. I am saving about 50 dollars a month on fuel and I do not need to refill at a charging station unless I take a 300 mile trip. Over all I am very pleased with the EV. I of course did go with a tesla since that is what they do instead of a ford or some other company pretending to do EV cars. Most of the EV complaints appear to be non tesla complaints. When the solid state batteries come out range will no longer be an issue but needing a strong electric grid will be needed of course.

Funny how this 'news channel' fails to mention that the very same Consumer Reports article it references says (directly from the article): The Model Y joins the Model 3 in earning CR Recommended status.
“Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y are now the sweet spot in the automotive industry when it comes to building electric cars,” Fisher says. “While Tesla is still a relatively new car company, it has more experience producing EVs than any other automaker.”
“While Tesla’s EV components are generally reliable, the company continues to struggle with the build quality of its vehicles,” says Steven Elek, who leads the auto data analytics program at CR. “Tesla powertrains are now pretty solid for the most part, but Tesla owners report a lot of build quality issues including irregular paint, broken trim, door handles that don’t work, and trunks that don’t close. All of these pull down the brand’s reliability score.”
To be a less shitty channel, you might want to include more representative info. Thanks & take care!

EVs sales are growing everywhere on the planet. (50% in China, 95% in Norway, 8% in USA, etc.).
To conquer the rest of the world market, electric cars (EVs) only have to be technically superior to the Internal Combustion Engine cars (ICE). It’s clearly the case.
    1. EVs are simpler to make: Tesla, for instance, has reduced the number of pieces for the front part of the vehicle from 70 pieces to only one. (It’s the same thing for the rear part of its vehicles.)
    2. Tesla, BYD and Volvo demonstrated that it was possible to produce profitable EVs; something legacy producers like GM or Toyota are unable to do. It’s because they feared bankruptcy that many companies stopped producing EVs.
    3. The price of EVs is falling rapidly due to the rapidly falling price of their batteries (- 30% in 2023).
    4. No cobalt or nickel are used to produce the most modern EVs.
    5. EVs pollute much less than ICE cars, especially when they move.
    6. EVs are more stable on roads because their heavy batteries are located at the bottom of the car.
    7. EVS protect better their occupants when there is a collision due to the rigidity of their battery packs.
    8. There are fewer than ten (10) moving parts in an EV engine compared to more than a thousand in an ICE car. That reduction in the number of pieces means that less machinery are used to produce them. As a result, producing electric cars creates less pollution.
    9. EVs accelerate more rapidly than ICE cars when their drivers try to overtake other cars.
    10. The brakes on an EV last much longer due to their regenerative braking system.
    11. The dashboard of an EV is much simpler to produce since almost all the controls are on the on-board computer.
    12. There are fewer liquids in an EV (windshield cleaning fluid, battery fluid).
    13. EVs are roomier than ICE cars because their engines are much smaller.
    14. Most technical problems on an EV can be solved ¨over the air¨ without having to go to a dealer.
    15. EVs don’t need to go to the dealer for regular maintenance.
    16. Everybody can buy an EV on the Internet without having to go to a dealer.
    17. Recharging an EV is 80% cheaper than filling the tank of an ICE car.
    18. Nowadays, there are multiple ways to produce electricity. (N.B. In 2023, solar panels are the cheapest way to produce electricity. And they almost never need long transmission lines).
    19. Nowadays, charging stations are everywhere while the number of gas stations is decreasing.
    20. Contrary to ICE cars, EVs can be recharged at home.
    21. EV owners say they have no problem with the autonomy of their vehicle.
    22. If EVs explode from time to time, 200,000 ICE cars explode every year in USA.
    23. Finally, we need to replace ICE cars with EVs for two other reasons. First, because petroleum is becoming scarcer on the planet and, second, because we all need to stop depending on an explosive region like the Middle East for our main source of energy.
    24. Etc.

The EV infrastructure in Canada is nowhere near where it needs to be to support the federal government’s planned mandate for EV sales imposed on manufacturers. Additionally it’s easy to see that when tax revenue from petroleum sales drops, the feds will come after EV drivers as well as increasing taxation on other sources. Add in that while EVs might be cleaner to drive depending on how electricity is generated in your area, the carbon footprint in their manufacturing isn’t stellar.

Anyone who remembers the 70's "gas crisis" and is buying a "new" car should consider a plug in hybrid. As the price of gas goes up and it's availability declines having the ability to run "all electric" is a great option. The battery packs are smaller and less expensive to replace than those in a pure EV, and as long as gas is available you don't have range anxiety and when not charging at home can "fill up" at a gas station in 5 minutes.

PS, also you can service it like a starter motor or an alternator just drop the old one off at a parts store and take a reconditioned replacement.

Some information might be true to a certain level of EVs. I bought a tesla model 3, and it's the best decision I've made and will never go back to gasoline car. I've traveled in my tesla long distances and never faced an issue with charging. In fact, i enjoy traveling in my tesla than i ever did in my previous gas cars. Tesla super chargers are everywhere and are the most reliable. The quick response and agility of the car compares to many expensive gas cars. When you charge at home, the cost is 1/5 th of gas and never have to stop at a gas station. Charging outside is about half the cost of gasoline. The range anxiety is the problem with most non ev users, but a 250 range would be more than enough for 4 day use without recharging (at home). Tires last as long as a regular car, but all depends on your frequent rotation and driving habit. Mine rated at 40k miles and have over 44k and are still going. EVs have smooth and quieter rides, instant torque, no smell nor fumes, no oil changes, and the best part is never having to stop at a gas station line. They are cheaper to maintain on the long run.

  • @FranticGuitar88
    @FranticGuitar88 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

EVs are inevitable. There are only 2 factors that need to be improved - charging infrastructure and battery tech/price. I live in Norway which is world leader in EV implementation, I owned already several EVs and I will never go back to ICE. I even did few trips across the whole Europe and never had a single range anxiety nor trouble finding charger. I charged every time I wanted to take a break and the car charged so fast I barely managed to get food and get back to unplug the car. The batteries are good enough already, but once charging takes less than 10 minutes and the batteries will reliably last 15 years and will cost under 5000 EUR to replace, there will be absolutely no reason to even think about ICE. EVs are much much simpler mechanically and generally don't require almost any maintenance. In US the biggest problem might be lower voltage network and the fact that people like to drive tanks instead of normal sized cars. But the latter is also something that is more of a sentimental (or mental) issue than a real problem.

@kennethboyer2338 there is almost no brake wear on an EV provided the driver uses regenerative braking. It's easy to find EVs with 150K+ miles on their original brake pads. Well, we have satellites with spectroscopy instruments that can detect how much electromagnetic radiation from the sun is absorbed in the atmosphere and at what wave lengths. Most is absorbed at a wave length CO2 will absorbs. Case close - global warming is man made and happening at a speed unprecedent in the geological history we are able to measure. Boy, this guy has it all figured out (sic)! I will present the concept of the Aspirational car formally the province of the German car makers (i.e. Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche... etc..) American, Italian, British and Japan have also had their moments in the Sun. but the new Aspirational car is Tesla (for more than electricity) and being chased by most legacy car makers (with little success). The Aspirational car is NOT a cheap car, but a car of expertise, refinement and serious advanced engineering far beyond the capability of a legacy car maker. In any form EV or ICE, this has NEVER been a car for the masses. Thomas Edison invented the electric light bulb over 100 years ago, yet there are still nearly a billion people that light the night with oil lamps and you can be sure there is an ICE car nearby within a kilometer. Toyota (masters of the international common car) is not ready to go all in on EV's (no matter what governments say or decree) but keeps its options open hybrids and limited EV's to satisfy some demand. However Toyota does NOT make an Aspirational car and is NOT betting the farm/company on EV's. There has always been a limited market for the Aspirational car and Tesla not only HAS IT, but makes handsome margins from it. EV sales will slow down and the battery problem is far from solved in chemistry and format; yet the advanced economies of the world desperately need this solution with Tesla leading the way.
