Hey guys when will the respiratory changes in regards to Asthma. I saw the proposed changes in the CFR a while back. The changes as far as respiratory seemed to only be sleep Apnea for April. Just wondering if those changes were still on the table. For instance a FEV-1 of 45% would be 100% for Asthma. Today it is 40% or lower for FEV-1. Appreciate it everything you guys do.
So, to be clear, when you say they're "getting rid of tinnitus" - do you mean that they are no longer accepting claims based on a diagnosis of tinnitus? If people have put in for a rating using tinnitus already, are they grandfathered? Or does this mean that everyone who has a diagnosis of tinnitus and is receiving compensation will have their compensation stopped?
For now, that is what I hear also we are grandfathered. But change, we are hearing, and fearing, may be inevitable in the future, at what capacity is yet to be seen, AND SEEMING MORE FLUID.
Compensation will not stop for those rated. For future ratings, the proposed changes are to reduce the rating from 10% to 0%. You can still claim it, but it will not be compensated with money. A 0% still grants treatment however.
I know your BDD can be filed 180 days out from separation, but can you submit an intent to file further out to secure sleep apnea current rating? ETD is currently December, BDD claim window opens begging of June, 2 months after the possible April change drop.
I was promised the Army would take care of me and my family from being to end. Even after I left the VA was there. I'm really starting to doubt my service
I personally think that Clay is right, if you have an issue you go to get care from the VA, they will hopefully get you better without having to pay as well as try and get you better. When you go to a regular doctor, you don"t file a claim for compensation as well as get care from him. I think seeing all the new cars and big trucks around with DV tags on them is a tell tale sign that the money they get isn't going to better care rather than to a new truck / car, IMHO
Can either of you respond to this as I am confused. I was rated 100% P&T almost 2 years ago. I was rated with COPD and my DAV Rep. suggestion that I submit a secondary claim for sleep apnea as I have been using a CPAP/BiPAP for over 17 years. The VA has supplied these machines over the last 8 years, how will the changes affect me with the changes with "sleep apnea". How can you reply to me?

At 100% P&T I wouldn't open another claim if it opens the possibility of another C&P. That's just my opinion but I'm not an expert on it.
🤔🤔🤔... Because it's a "Conflict of Interest"... VHA professional's job is to provide you with HEALTHCARE... VBA job is to provide you with earned benefits... If... the healthcare providers in VHA get involved with $$$Service Connection$$$ it causes an impediment to developing an actual "therapeutic alliance" with their veteran patients. This is the reason why 94% of all C&P exams to determine "Service Connection" is done by outside contractors. VHA Medical Professionals are only there to provide OUR... fellow Veterans with the best healthcare available... they are not concerned or interested in how much monthly money the veteran thinks/feels that they deserve or is owed...!!! Good see your VA medical professional REGULARLY... every physical complaint... tie it to your service and make sure it is charted in your medical records. Apply for "disability compensation"... sign a release of your medical records so VBA can see that your VHA medical professional is/has been dealing with those claims regularly and consistently (chronicity = disability)... Carry On YMMV ALTW 🫡
Dose anyone else think that maybe, just maybe these policies are being pushed with future implementation dates due to the last election? At the same time a 10% raise for E4 and below, scheduled to start in April, in 18 years iv never seen a raise take place outside of January. It may have happened but I never noticed it.
Once we stood together for each other, during combat in the jungles, deserts and oceans. Those that were not in combat, supported those that were. Yet, we don't stand together, when we allow the government to manulipate and low-ball the annual CPI numbers, for our VA service connected compensation COLA! We are not alone, senior citizens also get low-balled on their social security annual COLA! Yet, the politicians merely vote themselves, a pay raise! And, all you hear is crickets, not the roaring of veterans, and senior citizens!
Please talk about the inaccuracy of BMI. It doesn’t account for muscle mass as muscle is much heavier than fat and other BMI fallacies. All this has been proven as fact.
I’ve been 100% since 2008 as tdiu and am now at regular 100%. I’m not quite sure if i should push for p&t? Would that be something I should push for? By the way you guys rock
I would say yes because the people who are only 100% are at a bigger risk of getting reevaluate. The new administration that’s coming wants to cut corners especially with VA benefits!
That's a hard one. I would leave it as is. And if they send you a letter for review just make sure you have all your ducks in a row so they can't stop any of your ratings. You should be doing this anyways. Once people get a hundred percent they just stop everything, as it will come back and bite you in the butt when you get a review. Make sure you're always addressing your issues some way with your doctor for reviews. Good luck
If your not p and t then you will be re-evaluated at some point. I got 100% and a year later had another c and p exam. I was rated at 100 p and t after that.

Matter fact I’ve never done it but I think imma gonna buy a ford raptor with my disability….park it at the gym before I do back and leg day with my dv plate .
How many veterans do you think will completely over exaggerated their conditions in order to keep their ratings like sleep apnea would have maybe I do have a machine but I just don't use it so it doesn't work
I use it sometimes, but I asked for other options things like surgery, and they don't want to do anything outside the box so you're not really being treated. I told my wife I just came to the conclusion I'm going to die of a heart attack.
How much of that $$$ goes to us veterans and not those who “take care” of us? I say get rid of the VA healthcare system and just give us veterans the $$$ and let us seek our own private care.

I may be alone, but i work in the VA and i am seeing a lot of younger 21-24 age veterans being 100% p&T. I think if you do four years thank you for your service, here’s your G.I. Bill, have a nice future, no disability application needed or deserved. Are their outliers? Yes. Put something in place for them. Otherwise, enjoy the G.I. Bill and have a great future life
And the funny thing is us who did 20 years and put our bodies through hell have to fight left and right to get any damn compensation smh pretty soon, I’m sure there won’t be a military left in this country.
lol same, i havent met a female vet that isnt 100% p&T aswell. Iam sure these kids just serves low risk back office jobs, never deployed, and then just lived at the clinic using 3 years just making a huge med recorders to get out of work and claim 100% in 4 years.
What good is the G.I. Bill, if in your 4 years you get injured and are unable to work? I think it would be better to means test benefits. If you are able to work, you shouldn't be rated at 100%. That makes more sense. Many people are getting disability benefits for beer money or to use it to buy themselves a new truck. I think that is more of a problem than young people serving 4 years and getting disability. Though I will agree that those under the age of 30 should be looked at with more scrutiny as it is unlikely for someone under 30 to be 100% disabled, not impossible though.
They have to have that Infantry combat action. If not thanks for coming out kid 🤣 we all made our own decisions in the recruiting office and it should have been infantry. 💀

OK. LETS talk.. As a Veteran and a third generation US Marine unfortunately my great grandfather was in the US Army fighting in France in WW1 at 14 years old so not 4th generation Marine. I have a few questions. How many of you got drafted, you know forced to serve in the military??? I know, not any of my family was, we enlisted for love of country. I am tired of people applying for a job and than expect to get paid even after they dont work any more.. You enlisted = you applied for a job, knowing anything could happen. Its not like a boy enlist 0311 thinking he is going to be a cook.. Its not what the country can do for you, but what you can do for OUR country. We as Veterans are NOT entitled to a dang thing, be thankful for what is given by the American tax payers, i am... If this beautiful country forces you to serve than yes pay up.. but after Vietnam i dont think there was a draft
Will said, it would be great if the VA helped combat vets/ loss limbs . But lets get real like 95% of the claims are some back office finance person working 9 to 5 jobs that claim ptsd b/c there coffee was too hot. At least cap the non-combat folks at 40% or somthing before its too late, b/c of right now the vets that 100% need the help will lose it b/c of the greedy vets that abuse the system for personal gain.
Combat or no combat a Veteran is a Veteran. The USA can help other countries and foreigners with war and other goods, but can't take care of an American Veteran? Really. Crazy how Veterans support other Veterans nowadays.
Did you even read the contract you signed? You give the country a predetermined period of honorable service, and should something happen to you during that time, the government promises you the VA.
Drama queens! Look you two - you have still not learned. The VA process will continue to evolve and each time it has, MORE treatment options have been made available to Veterans. After all it’s the medical treatment that is the most important benefit! As the medicine evolves, so will rating schedules for each illness and function in terms of service connection. I realise you need to create content to make coin, after all this is what your channels are about, but neither of you are trained VSOs and typically pass along incomplete and inaccurate information. Claims have become a game of “let’s see how much I can get” which your channels contribute to, rather than “ let me file a claim for what I deserve”.
These two have helped Veterans understand the process and that you need the big 3. A service event, a current diagnosis and a link between the two. The VA decides how much the law says a veteran gets. If it’s a game it’s the raters who decide the game not the Veteran.
@ they do in fact continue to preach what is required, but they should stop there. They are not trained to do more and it’s clear they are trying to understand the process but are falling short to the point of providing opinions rather than fact. As for raters, sorry - it’s clear you don’t understand the system either. A great majority of the VBA staff and state VSOs are Veterans and advocate for Veterans each and every day. Mistakes are made but in my experience fewer than these two and others would you lead you to believe. If you want an accurate scale, stick with the OIG reports and ignore the opinions. Veterans file thousands of claims everyday just to probe (many repeatedly bogging down the system) without ever having looked at their service records, but each and every one is treated with care and attention.
@@thoughtprovoking4417 it would help if the VA and the c&p contractors were transparent during the process. Also, I stick to what I said, raters rate and make awards not the Vet, or VSOs or examiner. If a veteran gets SC it’s not because they want to see what they can get, it’s what the rater determined per law.
@@AFvet612I am curious, what is it you think is not transparent? The CFR and M21 govern and they are available to every Veteran! The talking heads here typically harp on the fact that DBQs provided by physicians are not respected.ever ask yourself why that might be? A great volume are used, but TH-cam advisors and organisations for gain have tainted that pool so they are heavily scrutinised. Rating is no mystery or magic 8 ball - there is a direct application but it’s unique to individual issues. Two Veterans might have the same nerve compression, but because they are individuals it could manifest differently. Finally you are wrong - some Veterans do submit claims to see what they can get, if they are SC’d then it’s as you say, but the volume of claims submitted to press the system in hopes of obtaining SC for an issue that has nothing to do with service is immense. When the claim is denied, a board review is requested - again, because they want to see what they can get, and not what they deserve. The system is no longer broken for Veterans leaving service today. It is all very matter of fact and exams are completed pre-separation. Everything is looked at and a baseline is created. I predict the VBA will eventually be reduced to assist with the exit exam process and special projects. There will be little if any re-filing.
Your understanding of the digestive VASRD changes are wildly underwhelming. MOST digestive conditions can now be separately rated, rather than historically being forced to be combined into a single evaluation under 38 CFR 4.7, 38 CFR 4.14. A lot of Veterans who have comorbid digestive conditions are getting a combine evaluation (GERD + IBS for example) at similar overall combined eval or higher to the historical Q1 2024 VASRD in the ratings I've done since the change. No!!!!! An intent to file won't do anything for a new digestive condition for applying the historical rating criteria because when the exam is done dictates which version of the VASRD is applied. We will have the examiner do both DBQs and the historical DBQ will be applied to the time prior to the change. However, the new DBQ will be applied after the change. We are not applying the historical evaluations to GERD except to C&C old evaluations if they are higher than the new DBQ and static. MDEO is specific about how we are applying this change. The reason why this is being done is due to pyramiding conditions. Pre change the conditions must be combine. After the change they must be separately evaluated.
Most people with GERD do not have esophageal strictures. So a veteran can have severe GERD with symptoms and get a 0% rating. GERD and IBS have very different symptoms and should have always been rated separately.

I 100% and still drive a 03 Tahoe lol. But you're right.
@benk4881 new vehicles aren't great and overpriced POS's LOL
Saw DV tag on an Escalade and BMW M4.
Don’t touch it if your 100% P&T don’t poke the bear. As it could get you reduced
🚫👉🐻
Don’t touch your claim if you 100. That would be the dumbest thing ever
You are absolutely 💯 ✅️. Brother you are 100 P & T "DO NOT FILE " Keep seeking treatment and medication.
VHA providers don’t want to fill out DBQs.
Carry On
YMMV

Clay or Jason - any changes coming to CRDP/CRDC for veterans?
Nope. Don’t look at CBO
Or maybe a better way to say it is how many veterans will create more problems for themselves by not taking the treatment seriously
Yeah wars are expensive
like 95%+ of VA claims are unrelated to war.
Say it ain’t so
I think the veterans are going to have to do another Jan 6 this time to protect our benefits
Please talk about the inaccuracy of BMI. It doesn’t account for muscle mass as muscle is much heavier than fat and other BMI fallacies. All this has been proven as fact.
What are the chances this boils down to politics, and these changes are being made by a disgruntled outgoing administration?
That’s what I believe as well. Under Trump
The VA wait times an community care improved
You are joking, right. You must be a Trumper. The incoming administration is planning on reducing our va benefits.
More likely that this is a wealthy people don’t want to pay taxes thing
None. Zero. Zilch. Any questions?
Trump is not a veteran lover he all about making him money
Unacceptable
I’ve been 100% since 2008 as tdiu and am now at regular 100%. I’m not quite sure if i should push for p&t? Would that be something I should push for? By the way you guys rock
Just call your local regional office and ask for it all they can do is say no
I would say yes because the people who are only 100% are at a bigger risk of getting reevaluate. The new administration that’s coming wants to cut corners especially with VA benefits!
Thanks for the responses
That's a hard one. I would leave it as is. And if they send you a letter for review just make sure you have all your ducks in a row so they can't stop any of your ratings. You should be doing this anyways. Once people get a hundred percent they just stop everything, as it will come back and bite you in the butt when you get a review. Make sure you're always addressing your issues some way with your doctor for reviews. Good luck
If your not p and t then you will be re-evaluated at some point. I got 100% and a year later had another c and p exam. I was rated at 100 p and t after that.
Comment section is filled with a bunch of cantankerous haters. Disgruntled because they’re not the only ones gettin disability and trying to tell others how to feel and what not to do. One weird comment about how 20 somethings that served shouldn’t be on disability . Even saw one comment that suggest unless only vets who seen combat or loss a limb should be able to claim. Get out here …..such nonsense and hate I’m glad they’re making it harder. Nobody gets nothing since folks wanna be bitter .
It’s so sad that they used us now they keep changing the rules so we can’t get help.
How much of that $$$ goes to us veterans and not those who “take care” of us? I say get rid of the VA healthcare system and just give us veterans the $$$ and let us seek our own private care.
What about celiac disease?
"Leaky Gut" at a molecular level in the intestines and it's agitated by gluten. Yes it is real and it is life changing
I keep trying to think of something positive to say about the VA ...No Can 😕
Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA. Is great. They care.
They are already not posting dvq from medical records
To bad shiza turned out the way it did in Spacey cause House of Cards was how things are really run.
millions, not hundreds of billions
no its billions
Yeah dude it’s really close to 400 BILLION and will likely go over this next FY.
Y’all!!!! There are still surviving WWII & Korea veterans. Please stop talking like they’re all dead. Yes their populations are greatly diminished, BUT some of them are still with us. Just saying, let’s respect each other as veterans ❤
Oh, I thought there was no budget? Filing a bs claim doesn’t affect other vets according to y’all? You both specifically ushered this in…
More fear mongering by these guys
if you ain’t afraid, you haven’t been paying attention, buddy.
Idiots they are with their sheep
What is wrong with you really? It's always good have any information that is valuable then shitty information that no one gives a "shit" about. Come on any information is good information especially from these guys
@@angelab5776it’s just one day they’re saying this, while in the next saying something else. I understand they’re trying get clicks and views but to be honest, either one of them know shit about what’s to come.
@@Ohpeaches87these females claim they’ve been SA’ed that’s the lie they tell and the lie the Va have no choice but to believe. I have 3 female acquaintances I was based with 100 % because they dropped em and spread em
Don’t worry Trump will fix everything 🙄
. WTF. PLEASE tell me what $$ do TAX payers owe you?? Did u apply for a job? WE Veterans are NOT Entitled to anything but health care for our service connected disabilities. I would LOVE to trade the $$ the tax payers give me for a pain free life.. I think those Veterans who really have pain would say the same... and the others are just here for $$$ sad day
gib er ish
President Elon Musk will take your benefits!
#DeportElon
But President Trump chose him…..Your frustration should be with trump
OK.
@@ericely6785exactly, we do deserve it because we signed up for it.
Why do you guys try an scare veterans?
It helps me sleep at night. My turn. Why do you leave stupid comments?
(This is Clay)
Uhhhh, you’re wrong dude. Sorry. M21-1 is very clear about ITFs and when to apply which rating criteria.
Most people with GERD do not have esophageal strictures. So a veteran can have severe GERD with symptoms and get a 0% rating. GERD and IBS have very different symptoms and should have always been rated separately.
I’m done. Sorry too many ads 2 minutes in.
