    Are the 20 ml sachets of buffer solution re-usable or a one time use? Also do you wash off the storage solution before putting probe into the buffer solution?

    Mostly just and advertisement for their products, NO useful info on what to do if your ph meter doesn't calibrate like they show it does perfectly in the video. I have yet to have it work the first time

      Hi Shereed!
      This video intends to show how to calibrate the meter. Sorry to hear you're having trouble with yours. If you email sales@hannainst.com, they can work with you and figure out the issue. Let me know how it works out!
      You can also check out our blog on pH practices. In many cases, you may find that the probe is dry, and needs to be conditioned for a bit before the glass is ready. blog.hannainst.com/top-10-mistakes-in-ph-measurement

    Hi I recently bought it and have not used it. For the first use, do I need to dip the electrode in ph 7.01 solution for several hours before calibration as mentioned in the leaflet?
    Another question- once a sachet opens, can reuse it again for the next calibration and if so how long does it last once opened

    Mine worked reasonably well for about six months, but it stopped being able to be calibrated. They go on like the one button feature is fantastic. I would personally rather have a second or third button just to be able to have more control over the calibration. Stopped working entirely, and I need to get something else.

      Kirsten, bummer! Not sure if you know, but these probes are replaceable. Had you kept the probe in storage solution? if it is not responding, many times the glass can be brought back to life. Soaking in electrode cleaning solution for 20 - 30 minutes and then the storage solution for about an hour should rehydrate the glass enough so the response comes back. If not, you can reach out to our tech department at tech@hannainst.com. I think we can resolve this issue for you.

    OMG! This thing is a joke! Has to be calibrated every time!!! WHat the hell! This is insane! I thought this would be quick and easy, just calibrate every now and then like my sons glucose meter! I can do a api test kit so much quicker than this and i thought this was about convenience! No its about hanna making money on contentious sales of these crappy single use packets...hahah. Like you couldn't have me it another way to be sealed and reused? What is the reason you didnt Hanna instruments? Not to mention not one solution to calibrate but 2, and then on top of that cleaning solution and believe even storage solution! This is the biggest rip off I have ever seen in my life! What a scam and who knows about the accuracy!

      I hate to say it but youre right!!!! I bought one for the "quick and easy use" it promised, only to find out i need to do a one, or even TWO POINT CALIBRATION BEFORE EVERY USE if I even want it to be accurate?!?! WHAT A RIP OFF!!!! Quick and easy my ass..... lol

      It depends how often you use it.
      Also if you only calibrate to 7.0 and the electrode goes bad it will continue to read 7.0 when you test and sample and this could be bad for you.
      If you normally test acidic things you should be fine with this one and a pint of solution is 15$ and that may last you a while but the packages save you from having to have special beakers or whatever to test in.
      If your testing alkaline things then you might need a meter that calibrates to 7.0 and 10.0 as well.
      This one is very inexpensive as meters go.....look up some other brands to compare.

    what good is it if I have to keep it in water, distilled or other ?

    • @HannaInc
      @HannaInc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi ed. You want to store pH electrodes in storage solution. This goes for all pH glass on any tester or meter because of the porous glass sensing layer. Water will eventually cause the electrolyte in the electrode to leech out and could possibly dilute the electrolyte. Storage solution is balanced to keep the electrode hydrated while also maintaining the integrity of the electrode. You would want to use distilled water to rinse the electrode before its stored in the storage solution. WHat's great about these testers is if the electrode dies early from improper storage, it can be replaced so you don't have buy a while new meter. Check out this information on electrode maintenance. hannainst.com/ph-electrode-maintenance-calibration-guide

      I think that what they are saying im thinking twice about getting one if thats the case, everytime you add ph up or down to anything you will have to recalibrate first then test , fuck that

      Hola Carlos, el HI98103 usa 1 botón para operar el medidor. Lo primero que debe hacer es dejar que el probador se sumerja en la solución de almacenamiento durante 1 hora. Luego calibre el probador. Para entrar en el modo de calibración, mantenga presionado el botón hasta que aparezca CAL en la pantalla.

    Can we reuse the Solution in the packets? Or once tested, it no longer good?

    • @HannaInc
      @HannaInc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi BB, The sachet packets are intended to be single use. The main reason is due to not being able to fully reseal the packets. Once exposed to air, the pH will drop over time due to absorbing CO2. There is also a high risk of contamination. Typically, when you are testing and recalibrating, it's best to have a bottle of calibration buffer so that you are able to use a clean container each time.

    I bought six Checker by HANNA PH meter probes, they too stopped working, the PH reading just blinks on and on never stabilises and on attempts to calibrate jumps from readings 3 to 19 LOL, waste of money

    • @HannaInc
      @HannaInc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi David! Sounds like the probes may need to be soaked in Cleaning solution and then rehydrated in storage solution. The pH probes on these testers have a small surface area so it's important to keep up on the maintenance. If you're still having issues, contact tech@hannainst.com and they can help you get this resolved!

    do you not want us to know how well/poorly this probe does for a titration ?
    in that case its response time will show up. as well as just how accurately it
    reads outside the calibration range.
    if this is all the better you show us how it works or what it can do i'm holding
    on to my money. you're guilty of hiding the truth by negligence.
    i will pay your website a visit. maybe someone else besides you is
    making demo videos there for shoppers
