Japan - Kamakura firework walk・4K

  • Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, just pure Japan.
There was a firework in Kamakura I wanted to see for the last two years. Because it's over the sea, I expected nice reflections and plenty of space, so it wouldn't be too crowded. Some of that was true-the reflections were nice. The intention of this video was to show the event with people, not just the fireworks. I was streaming and, though I expected issues with the connection, I hoped to find a spot that wasn't too crowded. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

15:36 Watching that little girl have so much fun just walking down the street, spending time with her older brother, or perhaps father...so touching. It makes me really think that life really is worth living, just for the possibility of having moments like that.

I know right? :D Maybe it‘s because Japan is so different compared to where I‘m from. Everything looks different: the train, the street signs the buildings, people dress differently. 19:49 when everyone gets excited about the fireworks is the purest thing. Thanks for these videos. I struggle with depression (honestly so do most people anymore) and things like this help more then I can say. Seeing reminders of the small good things in daily life. Food stands, people laughing and gathering, excitement over fireworks, listening to the sound of footsteps and seeing the lights come on in the houses....somehow it all helps to reconnect me to the world instead of just roaming around in my own head. I dunno. But thanks again.

The girl at 21:54 is a very funny girl. She shouts “Tamayaaaa” after cheers.
"Tamaya" is a popular fireworks artist Tamaya Ichibei who became independent from the "Kagiya", a prestigious firework craftsman in the Edo period of 1808.
Eventually, "Tamaya" will be in charge of the fireworks upstream of the river, and "Kagiya" will be in charge of the downstream. The shouts to support this were “Tamaya” and “Kagiya”.The call has continued for nearly 200 years, and even now. when you see the fireworks, you can call “Tamaya”
But this girl is also screaming “Tsutayaaa” after “Tamayaaa”.
Tsutaya is a famous bookstore and rental video store in Japan.

The feeling I got when walking there alone was really enjoyable. People are very nice. As soon as you speak to them a bit in Japanese they open up to foreigners. It doesn't matter if I suck at it. The fact that I tried made my experience so much better. The feeling of respecting their own environment and the place they live in is really felt when you walk the streets. The roads and sidewalks and generally clean and they build around nature (trees, rivers etc) In the midst of all the chaos, you can walk 2 minutes into little streets and find a random shrine close by and totally escape the noise pollution. I would love to go back.

yes exactly. whenever you try to speak broken Japanese, they always put smiles, very nice and open.
one day, i went into shop, and not found the exact item i want, and they tried so hard to look it up for me, they started to open their "yellow pages" and making calls to nearby local shop wether they may have the item that ive been looking for, it took several minutes, and even though im not buying anything on their shop. and this happen not once occasion.
