There's something about the urban structure of Japan that really calls to me. I'm aware that you're probably going through the "nicer" neighborhoods, but the whole thing where the streets are very narrow, there's a small playground right there... It evokes (to me) a sense of closeness... It's very beautiful to watch and imagine what a regular day is for the people living in that specific area. Thank you for doing this.
For me, it's the feeling I get from these is that the streets are like part of my personal space. Probably, the combination of cleanliness, low traffic, no excessive noise, the lack of parked cars, and so many human-scale details. Also, I get that liminal space vibe which I love!
When I was laid off back in 2020 because of the pandemic, and had more than enough time stuck in my home, I discovered this channel, and found Rambalac's 4K walks through Japan to be a great escape. Every several months I come back to his channel to see what else he's done. I'm glad he keeps making these. And like many of the commenters, I'm always impressed with how clean and orderly the streets of Tokyo appear.
Japan is beautiful. I wish that I could live there, but I love the USA too. Congratulations to all Japanese, you have a wonderful country. Take care of it.
As someone who grew up in Taiwan but has been living in the U.S. for many years, I love watching these videos of you walking around in Japan. The streets of Tokyo feel so familiar yet different at the same time and evoke a hard-to-put-into-words feeling and ambience. Many people from Taiwan probably know exactly what I mean.
Doesn't matter how stressed I am or how busy of a day I have had, a cup of tea and a Rambalac video puts me in the perfect relaxed mood. Especially a rainy one! Thanks for making these videos.
From what I have learned, for us non-japanese (tourists) many corners of Ikebukuro-ku are mostly still insider tips. Will definitely explore the ward a little bit more in my next trip. Especially, I always love the the small side streets that Rambalac always goes through. Where you don't necessarily go along as a tourist.
Street lights turning raindrops into silver, glittering pavements and stones, coloured reflections in the water - just ordinary rain in Tokyo☔, but a kind of magic through your camera!! Marvelous shrines, temple, way along the river and all the stairs - and 🤗 lovely moments with the fast cat 🐾😸🐾, and your super slide down🥇 - amazing movie 💖 !!
Oh, I love Japan! I was watching this with a big smile on my face imagining that I was there. Thank you Rambalac for your enchanting videos that give me so much joy!🥰
After a warmer-than-usual summer's day here in the north of Sweden I thoroughly enjoyed watching this laidback late night walk in the rain. It helped me cool down and relax. ❄❄❄
Binge-watching all of his videos is my virtual great escape to Japan. That is until I can make it my reality. And I love that he travels just about ALL of Japan. He goes off the beaten path.
I miss my life living in Tokyo. It’s been nearly 4 years since we left now. I think about it every day and me and my Japanese wife will return and plan to never come back to Australia. Thank you so much for your videos, they bring back all sorts of memories.
Waooo...realy...Japan is the beautiful and cleanest city in the world. Amazing...amazing...all of the building is very artistic. Hope , sometime I can go to this city...that always in my dream. Greeting from Indonesia. 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
I like to watch these on the TV while doing work in the evening, its really relaxing. The quality is fantastic too, I went to Tokyo for a few weeks back in 2019 so seeing it like this brings back great memories. Its a gorgeous city, extremely photogenic with a great atmosphere
Water droplet of rain is such a view to being the capture of each and every moment is precious and unique and then you walk on it with a camera to present such a grand experience let's enjoy.
Спасибо за очередное замечательное путешествие!!! Мы уже привыкли к этой чистоте и свежести!!! Хочется, чтобы всюду так было!!! Спасибо!!! Браво, Япония!!!
No matter how often I watch the cats in your videos, I have never got fed up with them. Thank you very much, Mr. Rambalac! By the way, I have nothing to do with 前川雄司. He is a COMPLETE stranger.
Recently, I finally moved to live in Tokyo, just in the Ikebukuro area, but I still watch these videos :) The atmosphere of traveling through the screen is very relaxing! I really can see something in the video what I do not usually notice in real life. Thanks for the great walks!
I usually play something in the background while I sleep. Either 8-hour lengthy rain, horror podcasts or any random video like a cartoon or something, cause I need some kind of noise to keep me company, I guess, it brings a bit of comfort. So I had autoplay mode on and I went to sleep playing a video, it has ended up on this rainy walk in Tokyo video when I woke up. I am so glad I bumped into this, this is what I aspire to do someday, just walk in a tidy, fairytalelike place, away from the chaotic world. This is so lovely, now I am gonna be playing this and stare at it till I nod off. Thank you so much. I will get a camera as soon as I am rich enough and head out on a long stroll. XD
My dear friend Mizuho always said me: "Don't be a b!tch!!! You don't need to be borned in Japan to be a japanese girl!!!" It's all about this she always talked, to be a japanese, you just need to see things like they see, and understand how things sorround you are... Watching these videos, all her words come back to me. Japan, especially Tokyo, have some magical atmosphere, even to people who lived there. I like nature, I like country places, but I'm a urban-type girl, and love these places were Rambalac go through, in special, these near houses and small markets because is were people lives, the commom people... This brings to me many good memories. And good slide! That boy almost hurted himself trying it, while you, even with the camera and all stuff, make it with shine. And thanks, I'm so grateful to you for bring to us this awesome videos. You must get tired after all this journeys, but you're a true brave guy!
This video is perfect, I've watched it like 4 times these days, Thank you so much for not putting ads in the middle of the video, that would spoil the whole immersion. I'm grateful for your channel.
Heck yes, a night walk *and* rain, the best combination! I always enjoy that your path of travel shows some of the calmer sides of Tokyo, and the rain really adds to that. Fantastic work as always, Rambalac, and thank you!
Clean streets. Good walk. This was the first video I watched in the Japanese series, just after a video you shot in London, or maybe someone else, I enjoyed it many times. Since then, I only watch Japanese videos. Thank you. ❤
Thank you very much… I am watching every rainy streets of Japan …. Everyday … over and over and keep repeats…. Nice and memorable…. Weather ….. please be secure and safe …..
57:55 Behind this gate is a place called Chinzan-so(椿山荘). famous for viewing fireflies from May to June. 01:02:39 This is Wakei-Juku(和敬塾), a dormitory for male students where Haruki Murakami lived for about six months from April 1968.
I went to school around here for a semester, interesting to see him walking around all these places in Kagurazaka that I used to visit all the time. Good memories.
Очень нравится когда дома подсвечены желтым светом, а деревья зеленым. Все становится сказочным. Вообще Япония, эти улицы с красивыми деревьями, особенно там где дома старинные или парки-это сказка.
Simply Awesome!! I love this one so happy Blade runner-esque… Night with some inclement weather , so relaxing for long-Covid busting. I thank you so much 🙏 …from NC, USA this old Army Iraq veteran still loves to walk, likely I’ll ever have the privilege to visit so cheers & keep filming for us ! 😃
Your videos are exceptionally valuable for people with disabilities. I'm not one of them, but I have some friends who cannot travel and/or take such walks. Thank you Sir!
I love night walks in Tokyo, so many people and yet everything is so calm, the lights, the sound of the city... Have you thought about taking a walk through the Aoyama neighborhood? I have heard that it is a vibrant neighborhood and that there are very striking examples of architecture.
ahh the nostalgia i stayed in higashi ikebukuro while studying in tokyo. i've been to gokokuji and the surrounding cemetery many times on rainy nights like this, this brings back some good memories
I always love to listen to these walks, as I've been totally blind my whole life, and I miss those days when I could walk anywhere with my Guide Dog. She would always warn me if there were any overhanging branches, so I could duck my head and miss them. I had four over 33 years, and I'd like to get another one now that my health is improving. Then, I'd love to visit Japan. I wonder whether they require a long quarantine these days, and I hope not. We take great care to ensure our Dog Guides are free of rabies and other diseases that could cause them to retire early. On another note, anytime you come across a cat is perfect to me! I absolutely love them, and I've never met a cat that didn't love me.
It's kind of ironic I'm watching this aftar I watched Pacific Rim, really great movie and super awesome and stunning video this will never ever get old keep em coming!!!
Wow thank you for taking us on that incredible walk. It was so nice experiencing that with you. Thank you for taking care of our view the whole time! Also, I bet nobody gets stabbed and robbed in the streets there huh?
What a legend. I battling a nasty virus and these videos have helped me sleep! Also must be really fit. That’s a lot of walking! I can appreciate how he doesn’t hold an umbrella in rain. These videos are the best. What a beast 💯

Well Said Sir, but this is Planet Japan!
For me, it's the feeling I get from these is that the streets are like part of my personal space. Probably, the combination of cleanliness, low traffic, no excessive noise, the lack of parked cars, and so many human-scale details. Also, I get that liminal space vibe which I love!
I’m always amazed by how clean their cities are.
Same, and how few cars there are on the streets. It is safe to just bike and walk on the road without the worries of cars hitting you
Yes, wait to you get to the coutnryside or the beach. You'll be shocked and perplexed as they can be very dirty.

Japan is beautiful. I wish that I could live there, but I love the USA too. Congratulations to all Japanese, you have a wonderful country. Take care of it.
Two things that immediately stand out, how charming it is, and how clean it is.

Thank you Rambalac for this night walk. Thank you again for showing us the grave of Natsume Soseki, one of my favorite Japanese authors!
Definitely the most advanced city. So futuristic.

How is life in Tokyo
Go out there and walk!! I used to walk for hours most nights when I lived in Tokyo.
