- Final progress video on my remake/remaster of Danger Canyon for Halo 3 and Halo 3: Combat Evolved! This time I'm showing off the map in the Halo 3 sandbox, the map is pretty much finished and just needs some small final adjustments (the cliff walls are a bit rough looking right now, I do not like working with narrow/not so open natural environments 🥲) before I can release it! I ended up reverting to a backup from July 2022 and discarded all of the work I've done on the map between then and November 2022 since I did not like where the map was going. I'm very happy with the visuals of the map (mostly the interiors) and I can't wait to finally have this out! But before that, a few playtests will be held at some point for this and many other maps and if you want to participate in them make sure to join my discord server here: / discord as they'll be hosted on there! :)

You've really nailed the Halo 3 style. I still can't believe 343 moved away from this. It is timeless.
There's a sense of life and light in Halo 2 and 3's Forerunner structures that I really miss. Tech cathedrals. Infinite nails CE's Forerunner aesthetic which I love as well, but...
It was going to in Halo 4 but Microsoft mandated that they make their own artstyle in order to "stand out against the originals". Also Microsoft intentionally hired people who disliked or never played halo, or who had never worked on FPS before.

I always appreciated mod projects with good Art passed even the small one like this. Having the look nail down for the mod just do so much for the presentation. I hope we can see your Halo 3 Evolved project come to fullwhishion soon. We need more competent looking mod like this.
This is amazing and needs to be added to MCC without question. The map looks beautiful and so professionally done!! They should seriously hire you to just remaster a slew of Halo maps for Halo 3 and make it it's own playlist. Have you considered doing the OG Blood Gulch? Valhalla is the spiritual successor but I'd love to see Blood Gulch and I bet it would play well in Halo 3's sandbox since the BR isn't hitscan.

Wow, great work as usual, and on a side note, this kinda showcases how few circular shapes Halo 3 has (I'm assuming? Just since most of the circular hallways have been changed to be square)

This looks absolutely perfect. Since Halo 3 has a different sandbox from CE, how will the balancing work?
I'd have to look into that, some of the weapons will be swapped, snipers in the inside have been replaced with battle rifles for example

Your work has always been stellar, though I'm concerned you may be stuck in the part of development where you are over polishing one aspect to delay the progress of starting new on the next section. I hope this isn't the case because your work is so incredible and i hope to one day place every level from combat evolved in the h3 engine. Keep up the wonderful work.
I rather have something polished than not though. All maps both campaign and multiplayer will be available on the mod someday. :)
