I see a lot of people in the comment section dismissing this car or the yang wang brand, but they are actully pretty popular in china right now. Yang wang U8(140000usd) sold almost 1600 units last month
News reported that the oversea price of U8 in Middle East is now up to 3million RMB (420000 usd) and 2 million RMB in Russia.
Good, Wang should stay in China and not bother the rest of us with their dumb gimmicks.
So much for inexpensive China BEVs rescuing Europe from those "expensive" German-made Teslas. LOL.

Perhaps it won't outsell, but BYD needs Yangwang as luxury cars to show its fancy technology, which will enhance its brand recognition.
Totally agree with you. Smart move by BYS. This model is mainly to hype up its presence especially if it beats every beast on the road in a drag race. People will start uploading it on social media

Sorry to hear your heart problems, I had a heart attack 2 years ago and it took me 7 hours to realise that it was not indigestion and my troponin levels were through the roof and the following morning they had doubled from the previous night. Got a stent fitted 7 days later and other than now having coronary heart disease I feel pretty good. I do not want to sound antagonistic but did you have the covid vaccine? because that could have increased your potential to have a heart attack on top of your family history. Might be worth researching, just a thought because you look pretty healthy to me and young.

A blown up Seal. But what is impressive is the speed with which BYD develops cars and makes them ready for the market. We are waiting for the Tesla Roadster and the Model 2 for decades (sorry, years)
Tesla promised a sub- $30k car in 2008. We have been waiting 15 years.
It's completely different platform from Seal. It will be on BYDs highend Yunnian platform like U8 and U9.

Today I saw a 2024 Model Y in the Tesla showroom in Palo Alto, California. It had an R in the VIN number. It was built in Fremont. It was not a Juniper. This is the very first confirmed 2024 model Tesla I've seen so far.

The U8 is exciting, I’m just gonna wait for a few years till it’s cheaper.
Looks pretty high end except for the headlights, they do spoil the overall look. Just after writing this I saw the front quater view and actually liked it. It is just head on that needs some work.

I think this car is cool
I agree that the front lights don't look good, which is a shame, because I like the rest of the car. It's not going to sell outside China at that price, but, like you said, they probably don't care that much. There will obviously be the odd few that sell outside China, which will help to raise their overseas profile a bit and that may help sales of their other vehicles, but I still feel that their overseas strategy is not great for breaking into new markets.

Doesn't it equate to 12 reactors, and if you have two on each site, there will be six sites. But will they not just replace old ones?
The problem here is if the price per kWh the consumers pay is too high, the "consumers" will find other solutions, and then they are forced to stop expensive nuclear reactors.
In Germany they will have the possibility to cut the tops by buying nuclear generated power from France. That means the French can sell some of its surplus capacity.
The very interesting thing with wind and solar power included battery storage is that it's easily scalable, and can easily be distributed over the country, which also means a "smaller" high voltage power line network.

Nuclear has 2 million times the energy density of chemical energy (solar, fossil, etc.) while being the safest, cleanest, and most reliable by far. The biggest cost is finance, which results from massively excessive over-regulation causing 20 year build times when a plant can be built in 36 months, as was common in the US in the early days (those plants are still running with licenses extended to 60 and 80 years); the Japanese recently built a reactor in 39 months.
So how does it match up to the Nissan GTR EV concept? If it is faster then how is Nissan going to compete?
U7 is an EQS competitor. For a sports car, look up Yang Wang U9.

Also longer range and cosmetic changes doesn't help much now days it's AI integrated and the coolest Tesla car like experience that matters! 😅.
To date I haven't seen anything better than Tesla.
bruh stop copium, there are sh1t tons of ev car from china that offer better value in term of price and quality than tesla. Not to mention company like Huawei Adas is so much ahead than tesla fsd.

If you know Sanxingdui, China, you know that BYD relies on the Sanxingdui mask to design its car shape, rather than the lying Vikings. Why don't you read their design concepts online?
Search online for what Sanxingdui masks look like, and don’t shamelessly say it’s plagiarism.
Time will differentiate if these Chinese cars will cut it. Until then I urge people to refrain making comparisons to Tesla.

Yeah, that’s what we really need, another super expensive, large sedan to join with the Model S, Lucid Air, Mercedes and BMW 7 EV. Just dumb.
This car like Yangwang U8 and U9 will be a China only model. Chinese love choices unlike western market that is too small to accommodate anything other than Tesla and the legacy ICE cars. It's believed U7 was quickly released due to the welcoming response of U8 in the market. U8 costs 160k USD but it's sold like hotcakes in China.
Not dumb. BYD now has a whole range of cars from bottom to the top so you can buy a BYD Seagull if you're a delivery guy, or this new luxury sedan if the delivery guy starts his own delivery company and becomes the CEO. 😂
