No one, not even sales person at a dealership know that the Genesis has a nice feature. If you press and hold the button at the door handel you can close the opened sunroof and all opened windows of the car. Great if kids leave windows open or partially open.
What a great idea… doing a night review… different but still covering all the important bits. Plus you get to see the lights much better. Great stuff!

Yea theirs no reason the g70 doesnt have ambient lighting especially because a fully loaded one is at the base price of the gv70

I am not too sure about the depreciation. I do not think they will overtake Lexus there anytime soon. Plus there is some concern on my part about long term reliability. I know you can hear stories about any specific car or brand, but if you buy the GV 70 3.5 be aware that the limited slip MIGHT be problematic. I have also heard that Genesis dealers might not have a loaner for you if work needs to be done. I would personally have the dealer put it in writing that I am due a loaner! Yes, I do agree that it is supposed to be a nice little suv

We’re you able to dim or turn off the floor lighting independent of the ambient lighting? It isn’t as nice as the other ambient lighting. :)

What everyone forgets or does not know is that all new Genesis vehicles come free maintence services for the life of the warranty and even better they pick up your genesis, leave you a genesis then return your genesis.. All for free btw.. Not sure If US has this amazing perk but all Canadian vehicles do.
Do you know have far from the service centre this applies?

wish someone would review the base model 2.5 with the bottom package. Can't see what the difference is, especially the lighting. There is not one video. Its always the upgraded packages.
I wished the sport prestige on the 3.5 l model had some lights inside the carbon fibers, that looks so cool 😔

I'd love to see a video comparing the three different Ambient Lighting setups. One of my pet peeves with the GV70 is the fact that you can't choose which of those you get - it's dictated by the trim. I want all the features of the top trim level EXCEPT I'm not a fan of carbon fiber and prefer the much cooler ambient lighting on the wave trim (shown here) or edge lighting trim. You lose that with the top trim carbon fiber models...
I have the Sport Advanced 3.5t in Uyuni White with Ultramarine blue interior with the edge lighting. I, too am not a big fan of the carbon fiber, but that's just my choice. . . . .No regrets with my decision.
@@ralphmeder7842 That sounds like a beautiful set up ext/int color scheme! I'm leaning towards the Melbourne Gray w/Red Interior. But I'd like to get the prestige package w/the full digital cluster and HUD IF I could get it with the edge lighting... I'm still about 5-6 months away from an actual purchase (saving up) so hoping they start allowing a little more customization. It's interesting - in the UK you completely build your GV70 and choose what features you want and pay for the upgrades - I like that better - let the customer customize what they want!

I have tested Audio on Advanced model. Would never go below that. The speaker system in Advanced is just mind blowing

Correction for you. It does have Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS) as Genesis calls it. For it to work the headlights needs to be on Auto settings and it follows when the steering wheel turns.
I had it in auto headlights mode the whole drive and there was no adaptive function happening nor was there one listed in any specification or press material that I could find. Perhaps only on other Genesis models or in other markets but this car didn’t have them

@@deec9502 thanks for the vid, not sure where Genesis is hiding the information on adaptive lights, but none of their US market information mentions them at all…except that video.
That model shown was the 3.5 model, and it didn’t specify which GV70s get adaptive lights. Even the IIHS shows all trims have no adaptive function with their testing.
The Genesis specifications and brochure and media material is completely void of any adaptive lights so I don’t understand. If you find anything else that shows what has what please let me know so I can update

They’re completely separated from Hyundai now. They hired designers from Audi with totally separate platforms and production lines than Hyundai.

We test drove the package just below this one. No ambient lighting which was a disappointment considering they were charging $2500 above msrp.
Strongly considering the Advanced package at another dealership.
I also have a Lex ES 350 in mind. Already selected the package and colorway.

@@bluebell8557 I definitely wasn't planning on getting a BMW. I blame the car shortage. We couldnt fine any GV70s in our area that werent already spoken for. Dealerships started calling us at the end of April saying they had them in stock.
We paid abt 46k for the X3. I love it but it wasn't my first choice.

It's nice but no HUD.
The screen placement on the dash is terrible. Too big and distracting as it's in your line of sight while driving. They should of had it a little lower.

I am not a fan of half analog and half digital cluster. Looks half assed and cheap. Either be al digital or all analog.

The previously reviewed Lexus NX definitely has way better headlights than this GV70.
Thats interesting. The headlamps on the GV would likely from SL, a Korean company whose technical affiliation is Stanley of Japan (not the hardware maker of US). Stanley is one of the largest automotive H/L makers, and perhaps the one from the NX is from Stanley. BTW, SL also provides H/L to Cadillacs and many other OEMs....
@@ledwinka Interesting facts but still the Genesis indeed has poor headlights compared to the NX even tho it “might” be come from the same company. The results are not lying you can compare it yourself.

Compared to the new Lexus NX, the Headlights on Genesis GV70 looks really poor.
I own one and the low beams are pretty bad and the lights aren’t adaptive. My last 3 cars were Audi’s w/ Matrix LED’s which were 10x better than the GV70 lights. .
Bad headlights are a dealbreaker. We're in the process of trading in our 2018 Highlander due to the poor headlights. Naturally, we didn't experience them during a test drive and have put up with them for 3 years--enough is enough. 2022 Acura MDX SH-AWD, here we come.
@@moeharri Wow, picky. Hardly are "bad" per the video author. I am not dissing the Audi, but good luck with maintenance and repair bills. Talk about a deal breaker and NO, I don't own a Genesis.
I don't know if the Genesis has poor enough headlights to be a dealbreaker, but it's disappointing that the NX was so much better (though I'd never buy an NX).
Also, I'm not buying an Audi, I'm buying an Acura and expect better reliability than an Audi would have.
@@moeharrithe only issue I have with Acura they still don't want to put ventilated seat to that's kind of weak when all your competitors have it.
i wish you guys that did reviews on vehicles knew more than just basics. i don't feel like writing a story but come on. your just like salesmen, shows us in depth stuff, ex tailgate has 4 ways to open show us all of them, on the tailgate it also had a lock button. Which is to set the trunk to open at certain heights. that was missed just nobody seems to proper reviews they just want to drive and make the same vid. And technically the vehicle isnt even broken in yet, so when you put the peddle to the metal you wont get the best launch until its broken in.
Volvo lights, GLE side profiles, Macan-ish rear design, Mazda grill. Is it me but Geneis doesn't have much of its own design language

As a whole it looks like no other car on the road so I guess a mashup is its own design language. I've also read where they did follow a design aesthetic that is based on an airplane wing which you can see and sometimes maybe it's a cross section of a wing shape. More so on the interior.
With all these lights is like a galaxy full of stars... i would fall asleep.....not to drive in there!!!!!!!!! FA NTA STIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO way by 2025. Too many hurdles yet. That date will be moved....2030 ish. It's already 2022.
If you're considering a Genesis, you might want to think twice. Reports suggest their customer service leaves much to be desired, especially for a luxury car brand. Plus, if your car needs repairs, be prepared to wait at least three months for it to be fixed.
