  • R.I.P. Mr. Collins.
Long before Rambo dished out ten flavours of asskickery in Burma, Lewis Collins and crew already killed half of its population fifteen years prior to destroy the drug trafficking that goes on there. Man, Burma gets fucked up a lot in movies, actually...
Now join Lewis Collins, Lee Van Cleef and Manfred Lehmann (a.k.a. the German dub actor of Bruce Willis and Kurt Russell in a rare onscreen-appearance) as they tear shit up. This movie also features Klaus Kinski dying quite gloriously, Ernest Borgnine as the most naive CIA-dude ever put on film and Lee Van Cleef rocking a bitchin' mustache. And there's also a helicopter equipped with a flamethrower in the most epic fuckin' finale of any Macaroni Combat-movie.

Helicopter flamethrower just jumped to the top of my "most awesomely impractical weapons" list.

I just love Lewis Collins in these movies. He made three in all for the same director. Brilliant!

I know in Captain Robin Wesley, (Lewis Collins), Archie 'China' Travers, (Lee Van Cleef), Klein, (Manfred Lehmann), Arbib, (Thomas Danneberg), Stone, (Frank Glaubrecht), Kowalski, (Bruce Baron), are the men of his team, however during the film that is, Kowalski and two of Kim's men guard the base and its radio are left behind while the others neutralize a quarry base, however all of Wesley's men die but "China" and Kowalski live, Stone was wounded (would have been nice had he lived) is killed along with another one of Kim's men later in the boat, Arbib scarfices himself as they tried to capture a train but on that count though Arbib is presumed dead in the train crash that exploded the bridge most likely MIA or killed, Klein is killed by Charlton as his scarfice he made to save for Wesley, "China" and the North American woman, Kim was killed in a minefield, Kowalski is the only surviving of Wesley's original men that remained and didn't get killed, but Arbib is presumed dead in the train crash like I said, if I was to do a sequel though to the 1984 film and they would go on another mission they would later find Arbib alive and that survived would be great,

you got to bear in mind this was probably made with a paupers budget, compared to 1978 version.
