Without doubt one of the most charismatic and coolest actors this country has ever had. Completely and totally under used after the brilliant Professionals. There's differing stories why he didn't become the next James Bond from he was too aggressive in the interview or over confident or what ever well that's pretty cool in itself, anyway the producers and makers of James Bond robbed the fans of who I think would of been one of the best James Bonds, what a waste😩😥😥 What a wonderful interview this was he was talking about the professionals being 20 years previous and now in nearly 2016 this interview was 16/17 years ago and we've lost him now where does the time go. I wasn't even a teenager when the professionals started now I've got my eye on retirement😢 very sad.

@@BungleBare really, I wonder what these people argue about? Two of my old mates fell out over an electrical job and I was in the middle listening to them sniping about the other. I moved but am still in touch and used to drink with one then the other lol. One you quit working with someone often you lose touch because you've nothing in common anymore. 😟

@@BungleBare What was it about? I mean Bolam had a v good career after the Likely Lads: whereas Rodney was relegated to non famous theatre stuff.

Martin Shaw a serious actor, what a bloody laugh. At best he was mediocre. Bloody ponce with a floor mop on his head. Loved Lewis, he was every girls dream in the late 1970’s. Handsome and charming but tough as well. I wrote to him when he was appearing in a play at Chesterfield because the Sheffield date got cancelled and he sent me a gorgeous signed photograph. RIP Lewis xx 💜

I so agree with you about Martin Shaw. I liked him in his TV shows after the Professionals - Judge John Deed and George Gently. But like so many "actors" in interviews he comes across as a pretentious prat who thinks he's too good for TV. Lewis came across as a lovely bloke and I agree with everyone else who reckons he was the best Bond we never had. RIP Lewis Collins.

I assume the series he was alludito was The Professionals reboot in 1999 that only lasted thirteen episodes and was shown on Sky One? Edward Woodward ended up taking the Cowley role. Shame Bob didn't mention the B movies Lewis did in Italy in the mid 80s with Ernest Borgnine, Lee Van Cleef and Klaus Kinski. I'm sure Lewis would have had some stories about that. Interesting that he could have auditioned for The Beatles and that he worked alongside Mike 'The Scaffold' McCartney. Such an interesting life he had.
