Hiking to Abandoned Neighborhood Deep in the Forest!

A good friend of mine lives in the middle of nowhere. Behind his property is a vast expanse of old and new growth forest. This location is home to more than just deer and rabbits...
During the civil war, soldiers and officers passed through the area and set up camp. Shortly after the end of the war, families built homesteads in the area due to its rich soil and close location to the river. Like many places in the south during both World Wars and Great Depression, families had no choice but to leave behind their roots and move towards more profitable areas. The remains of some of these families are still scattered throughout the thick forests today, frozen in time and being reclaimed by the earth.
Join us as we explore a completely abandoned place from the past and discover what's left from the families that once called this place home.

Chris I’m sorry for such a late response on your comment. This area is in Western Kentucky and it butts right up to my friends backyard property line. Lots of civil war history back here and remnants from Kentucky’s past when our ancestors were settling along the river. I’m glad you enjoyed. 👍
